im 59 now, but i truly remember being 15 1979 and listening to this track in my room on my stereo. Staring at the album cover and inner sleeve. Had a crush on a girl named Lorelie in school. AHHH those were the days.
I looked it up for you, In 2009, the band was inducted into the Canadian Music Industry Hall Of Fame, also being awarded with the Lifetime Achievement Award. In 2010 they were inducted into the Canadian Music Hall Of Fame.
Lori, laura, lori, lorelei Sunshine in the night You're makin' everything worthwhile You know I need your love Pretty lady, help me now But do you love me I got to know, I've got to know now Oh, long ago I had a lady She looked a lot like you She lied to my face, yeah, such a disgrace I had to leave, couldn't play the fool Here I am again in love, baby I've been this way before I need your touch, need it so much I need you, I need you, I do Baby baby, be my friend You know I'm gonna love you all I can Before the dawn is breakin' I'm gonna change your mind, yeah yeah And you'll love me baby, come on love me Come on lorelei If you spent a lifetime thinkin' 'bout the day Would you know how many nights I've cried I see your face in my mind, I've tried but I just can't find A way, I need you bad Babe, you're tearin' me apart You know, you know I gave you Every little piece of my heart Before the dawn is breakin' I'm gonna change your mind, yeah yeah And you'll love me baby, come on love me Come on lorelei
2020 I'm still baffled at why this band is not a household name and in many cases when people hear me blast it they say they have heard it. This past week I have played- I LIKE TO ROCK so much some younger people at work had shazzamed it and said they checked out April Wine. Comparing them to Thin Lizzy and Rush. These kids are in their 20s.
@@jedsteelwell2354 I see your point. I was kind of pointing out how the 2 bands had such a different level of success. They are not similar bands at all. I really like April Wine and their songs buy,If i had to reevaluate i guess I agree Bon Jovi has a better style
April Wine had a nice run of 4 albums starting with "First Glance" that were consistently smokin' full of great SONGS! They wrote some very pretty ballads as well as the rockers...I always thought April Wine and the Scorpions made a case for including ballads on those hard rock albums.
her full name was Lorelei , her family called her Laura, ....but when he met her she was going by Lori, he wanted her to know for damn sure that he was singing about her

One of the most underrated bands of all time....they should be in the Rock n Roll hall of fame!
Totally.
anti Canada bias.
The hall sucks anyway
They are. Well in Canada that is... Happened in 2008 or 2009. Research it. They're GREAT!

Lori, laura, lori, lorelei
Sunshine in the night
You're makin' everything worthwhile
You know I need your love
Pretty lady, help me now
But do you love me
I got to know, I've got to know now
Oh, long ago I had a lady
She looked a lot like you
She lied to my face, yeah, such a disgrace
I had to leave, couldn't play the fool
Here I am again in love, baby
I've been this way before
I need your touch, need it so much
I need you, I need you, I do
Baby baby, be my friend
You know I'm gonna love you all I can
Before the dawn is breakin'
I'm gonna change your mind, yeah yeah
And you'll love me baby, come on love me
Come on lorelei
If you spent a lifetime thinkin' 'bout the day
Would you know how many nights I've cried
I see your face in my mind, I've tried but I just can't find
A way, I need you bad
Babe, you're tearin' me apart
You know, you know I gave you
Every little piece of my heart
Before the dawn is breakin'
I'm gonna change your mind, yeah yeah
And you'll love me baby, come on love me
Come on lorelei
Is this for the deaf people who couldn't just listen to the lyrics?

In my mind...God bless America! but Canadian Rock....April Wine, Rush, Triumph, Pat Travers, Lover Boy....Does it not get any better?!
whats the difference between bon jovi and these guys. Better looking singer in Jon,better marketing etc better promotion.
@@eddygsmusicworld1708 Bon Jovi is way better than these guys but they don't sound anything alike

You don’t like Animal Grace?
WAY better than Aerosmith. True feeling and musicianship.
