The beast! The best of all time. Most under rated. I reminded my friend that has a huge radio show for music in San Fran. He said I am featuring them on my show Friday!!!
What kills me is quite a few of these incredible songs on this platform hardly reach 50K views. Astounding what people are unaware of in the music world.
Buddy its impossible to know it all. Heard of Band but first time found an lp by them and I love it. We'd need multiple lifetimes to scratch the vinyl surface.
I used to take this album to my local heavy night in Sunderland (UK) on a Friday night when i was 16/17 In the 1980's...The DJ had no idea about the brilliance of this band. occasionally it would be played....My heart sings at 55 hearing this...
April Wine for "heavy" night? LMAO!!! I'd have told you to get tossed. Nothing against the band, but... April Wine for "heavy" night? That's funny. 🤣😂🤣😂
One of a kind sound, one of a kind singer. April Wine, tonight and forever in our hearts and minds. No need for tickets. Just the need to hear good kick ass rock and roll!!!!
Nothing but pure kick ass R/R from one of the all time best lead singers if not the best my opinion in the history of of Rock and still going strong 💪 what ever he touches seems to turn to gold I'm talking music ok rock on big dog first time seeing Sammy 83 St.Louis MO. MTV broadcast been hooked ever since KSHE and Sammy forever ❤💯🤘🤘
Authored by lead vocalist Myles Goodwyn, “I Like to Rock” (1979) is a straightforward song about the transformative power of rock and roll. It was April Wine’s first tune to make an impact in the UK and it sparked their fame in Europe. The closing guitar riff is a mixture of the main riffs from The Beatles’ “Day Tripper” (1965) and The Rolling Stones’ “Satisfaction” (1965). As for the album title, it supposedly comes from a bit of dialogue in an adult film titled “Behind the Green Doors“ (1972). 💙🎸💚 May you rest in peace, Stephen Keith Lang (1949 - 2017)… 🌹
I always loved the Beatles/ Stones ‘mashup’, it’s actually genius how they paired those riffs, if I’m not mistaken, they are out of sync but do resolve at the end of a measure? Cool stuff, slick production, too Canadian for below the Manson Nixon. I’m in Buffalo and barely made a dent here lol
@@theodorecurtis5674 I believe that April Wine managed to create the best, the greatest and the cleverest “double-sampling” ever. The Beatles + The Rolling Stones + April Wine = WOW‼️
Back in the early 1990s, when I was in my early 20s, I heard this on a radio broadcast. But until now, I didn't know it was by April Wine. And I'm in my mid-50s now. Talk about learning something new every day.
April Wine is Canada's 3rd greatest export, right behind Rush and Triumph!! Saw them in 1980, one of my favorite concerts!! Wish I had gotten to see them again, great live band!! This whole album kicks ass!
I've loved April wine since the 70's. Been waiting for you guys to come back to Chicago. Can't wait for you guys to be here in September. Already told my wife that I'm going to be with or without her. Rock-and-roll man!
@@Cablecol I posted that 4yrs ago, I went, they rocked. Yeah I can't believe what has become of this city. Police have lost control, and if they do arrest someone, they just kick em back out on the street.
I remember hearing this one quite a bit as a kid in the mid-1970s. It seems that it never gets much airplay these days until some dude brings up his old copy on college radio. Actually a neat little tune there. Power pop/hard rock is an acquired taste these days. I find it nice an melodic, but with a nice hard beat to it that I can't find in most popular music now. Gotta roll with it!
Carmen Bernardo My radio station in Vancouver place April Wine a lot. I love it cause my young kids get to hear it all the time, so hopefully they’ll grow up loving it like I did.
I remember seeing them in the 80's opening w/this song. There was a screen on stage showing a video w/them doing funny things like surfing on skateboards. At the end of the video it showed them playing. At the same time it showed them coming out of the screen. Cool illusion.
I remember thinking this was newish in 1998 when I heard it for the first time on K-Rock, as in KRAR here in Utah. Kept me company during the blacktop time to college and back.
