Harder ... Faster is the eighth studio album by Canadian rock band April Wine, released in 1979
Rip Myles. Thanks for the great music!
Ricky: Hey, play "I like to Rock."
Alex Lifeson: That's April Wine.
Ricky: Well play that Diane Sawyer song, just play something, that's why you're here.
+Phil Mante Hahaha yes!
Phil Mante that's me Rick . I just played I like to rock , April wine. Alex Lifeson. allways been a kick ass tune. want another check out the Rods. band that is. wild dogs l.p.
Hahaha you beat me to it man
That's the only reason I came here
Phil Mante look first off this isn’t kidnapping, I’m borrowing you for a little bit......
One of the most highly underrated bands of all time. Awesome song along with Just Between You and Me.
The beast! The best of all time. Most under rated. I reminded my friend that has a huge radio show for music in San Fran. He said I am featuring them on my show Friday!!!
What kills me is quite a few of these incredible songs on this platform hardly reach 50K views. Astounding what people are unaware of in the music world.
The original video to this song has 17 million views and it's obviously the version people gravitate towards
Such an underated Band and Album all tho they did go over really well in the mid west of I believe
Buddy its impossible to know it all.
Heard of Band but first time found an lp by them and I love it.
We'd need multiple lifetimes to scratch the vinyl surface.
@@ricksuegreen1753 Fucking great, kick-ass hardrock!!!!!!!!!!!🤘🤘🤘🤘
@@janstrapina 1000%
Love the "I Feel Fine" and "Satisfaction" riffs at the end
I love that guitar riff with "Day Tripper" and "I Can't Get No Satisfaction"!
So it's not just me with the 'Day Tripper' journey.
Oh yeah! That's one of the reasons why this song is so cool.
Jeffrey Baker yeah that was just super cool innovative
Still gives me shivers! ~]
And they blended it so well! !
One of a kind sound, one of a kind singer. April Wine, tonight and forever in our hearts and minds. No need for tickets. Just the need to hear good kick ass rock and roll!!!!
I used to take this album to my local heavy night in Sunderland (UK) on a Friday night when i was 16/17 In the 1980's...The DJ had no idea about the brilliance of this band. occasionally it would be played....My heart sings at 55 hearing this...
April Wine for "heavy" night? LMAO!!! I'd have told you to get tossed. Nothing against the band, but... April Wine for "heavy" night? That's funny. 🤣😂🤣😂
They were Unfortunately labeled as fathers of Rock ballads , however I'll remember thier Fist Pounding Arena Rock tracks instead...
April Wine ROCKS. Haters can f' off.
We are the same age. Same game.
This song is the ancestor of hair metal.
April Wine I Like To Rock Sounds Like Satisfaction By The Rolling Stones.
Rock on AW! Plus, a little Day Tripper at the end......awesome stuff.
FKN RIGHT! I AAAM CANADIAAAAN 🇨🇦
APRIL WINE ROCKS!

+Keith Bartholomew im 17 buddy born a rocker

16 and rocking this, as well as all other oldies, on guitar
Im 16 here.
A girl who loves classic rock/metal.
18 here, I couldn’t imagine listening to anything else
Autumn of '79 Bought this record for 5 bucks at 13...Love it the same today !
Authored by lead vocalist Myles Goodwyn, “I Like to Rock” (1979) is a straightforward song about the transformative power of rock and roll. It was April Wine’s first tune to make an impact in the UK and it sparked their fame in Europe.
The closing guitar riff is a mixture of the main riffs from The Beatles’ “Day Tripper” (1965) and The Rolling Stones’ “Satisfaction” (1965).
As for the album title, it supposedly comes from a bit of dialogue in an adult film titled “Behind the Green Doors“ (1972). 💙🎸💚
May you rest in peace, Stephen Keith Lang (1949 - 2017)… 🌹
I always loved the Beatles/ Stones ‘mashup’, it’s actually genius how they paired those riffs, if I’m not mistaken, they are out of sync but do resolve at the end of a measure? Cool stuff, slick production, too Canadian for below the Manson Nixon. I’m in Buffalo and barely made a dent here lol
@@theodorecurtis5674 Thank you very much for that very interesting feedback, Theodore. Best regards to you.
@@theodorecurtis5674 I believe that April Wine managed to create the best, the greatest and the cleverest “double-sampling” ever. The Beatles + The Rolling Stones + April Wine = WOW‼️
@@theodorecurtis5674 It got a lot of airplay in Louisville back in the day.
These guys were huge in Dayton
Here in February 2024. Rock On. 🎸 🎸 🎸 🎸 🎶 🦄
This was one of the songs played at my bachelor party 40 years ago to this night !
Nice
That's a classic!!!
Wasn't it at every guys in the late 70's
40 years... Holy cow... Still together?

April Wine is Canada's 3rd greatest export, right behind Rush and Triumph!! Saw them in 1980, one of my favorite concerts!! Wish I had gotten to see them again, great live band!! This whole album kicks ass!
Personally i would put April Wine way ahead of Triumph. To me Triumph sounds very formulaic. AW is completely straight ahead guitar Rock.
April Wine's far superior to Triumph. Rush compared Wine? Over all catalog n diversity, my money's on April Wine.
I like Canadian bacon too
Don’t forget chilliwack
One of my favorite high school albums! Can't deny the talent or the good times!
got dat rite, sure got that right.(Lynyrd Skynyrd), an i still got my vinyl- Rock On , peace
Agreed. High school baby!
Oh man I hear ya This music was & still is off the charts
Me 2. High school.
april wine rocks !!!!!
RIP Myles...you kick ass brother. I still listen to this great music on a regular basis. Right there with Zep, ufo, sabbath...all the 70's greats.
I've loved April wine since the 70's. Been waiting for you guys to come back to Chicago. Can't wait for you guys to be here in September. Already told my wife that I'm going to be with or without her. Rock-and-roll man!
Love April Wine but I hear Chicago has become a hellhole...maybe you meant the suberbs.
@@Cablecol I posted that 4yrs ago, I went, they rocked. Yeah I can't believe what has become of this city. Police have lost control, and if they do arrest someone, they just kick em back out on the street.
The universal tune for every kegger on the planet. 🍺🍺🎸🎸
I’m turning this up to 11! 🤘
I remember thinking this was newish in 1998 when I heard it for the first time on K-Rock, as in KRAR here in Utah. Kept me company during the blacktop time to college and back.
I bumped into them at a concert (literally) in their early days (1979) in between songs while going for a beer, seemed pretty cool.
Pardon me while I listen to this track again. A double dose of feed my rocknroll soul.
I don't always listen to April Wine but when I do so do my neighbours..
Never herd that one before
Me neither. Excellent!
Well, listen on then, I roll without Infinity SM 155 Speakers and a bad assed Yamaha Sub Woofer barking atcha feet. Powered up by Denon Receiver and a philips CD Player/ Changer. So, when Uncle Sean rocks, the neighbors do too- Boo, like it or not....😊
🙌
Lucky neighbors 😁
Still a classic!
This one & “SAY HELLO”….. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I remember hearing this one quite a bit as a kid in the mid-1970s. It seems that it never gets much airplay these days until some dude brings up his old copy on college radio. Actually a neat little tune there.
Power pop/hard rock is an acquired taste these days. I find it nice an melodic, but with a nice hard beat to it that I can't find in most popular music now. Gotta roll with it!
Carmen Bernardo My radio station in Vancouver place April Wine a lot. I love it cause my young kids get to hear it all the time, so hopefully they’ll grow up loving it like I did.
it came out in 79
@@evanjhill1749 Thank you!
I remember seeing them in the 80's opening w/this song. There was a screen on stage showing a video w/them doing funny things like surfing on skateboards. At the end of the video it showed them playing. At the same time it showed them coming out of the screen. Cool illusion.
REemembering hearing this on a dance floor...I started gyrating...then screamed OOOOHWATTANITE! I still blush when people bring that up.
I could help you have another night like that, Julianna ;)
Great album!
That was awesome man! Remember when we kicked out during I Like To Rock, then we wrecked the Dartmouth ferry? That was fucking April Wine, Ricky.
fn rickys fav song! song is rockn and tight. a cerified cut!
Rock forever!!!
Howdy April Wine? Thanks for some ASS KICKING 1980'S music!
The ultimate insult to rich boys is to play this while cruising around in a late 50's Cadillac.
Cruising with my first cousins in southern Iowa drinking cheap 3.2 Missouri beer jamming this until the speakers blow.
Saw these at castle Donington they was awesome ❤😊
z28 cruising with hot chicks...love the old days
Roadkill!! Finally found this track! Yes!!
ROADKILL!!
xxxhairmetalxxx Fuck yeah! I came here because of Roadkill too. That game is so underrated.
xxxhairmetalxxx oh yeah that game is my love lmao
Ah yes an underrated midway classic
❤❤❤❤
Everytime you start the game...
RIP Steve Lang.
Awesome high school memory. Thanks. I wonder how the royalties for the Beatles & Stones were delt with....
Good point ...
Most definitely has the baseline from Green eyed lady by Sugarloaf!
interesting. I never noticed that. I think it's more the timing than the notes, but good point!
they did it with class though!!!
killer tmz..I remember crzn with this jam..loud asf..back then u didn't have to look for anything..it came to u..
Sometimes, things stay the same but their method changes.
the first song played on Moncton NB’s rock station C103 back in the 80’s
Thanks!
R.I.P Myles Goodwyn I Will Miss you.
The 8CD box set More Greatest Hits Of The 80’s bought me here.

BEST ALBUM OF ALL TIME.
Yeah might just be....It's in my top 5 for sure...hard to understand why it wasn't a much bigger success at the time...their label obviously really f'd it up.

This sounds like it could have been in Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure.
Many memories this be the music to tap the keg to the last drop of foam!!!,
I have several go to songs and this song is definitely in my top ten no top five heck top three baby cuz I like to rock 😉
ask most people if that heard of April wine thay think it's wine ,but ,we all no there music, this song is pure, rock n roll
The first time I heard this song I was at a good ole keg Party .
I love this period 1967 to 1984
1979 Was Better than 2020.
When I was learning to play drums, I used to pop a blood vessel thing to nail the break lol... Finally, I stopped counting, and just went by feel... Which is what I should've been doing all along
I think its a 75 Dodge Duster but not sure. The pic looks like it was taken from an upper floor of the masion sophia reception house for refugees on the corner of Boteler st and King Edward in Ottawa Ontario.
Looks like Chevy Nova to me
What???
Plymouth Duster,Dodge Dart
70 duster 340 my first car lol wish i still had it
Rip Myles
"Shut up kid im playing the song"
STILL an epitomize of BADASS!! =-D
That guitar riff at the end of the song sounds like the rolling Stones i can't get no satisfaction.
rock n roll lesson #55
never interrupt a friend who is playing air guitar during the solo
❤❤❤❤❤
Conheçi pelo Jogo Roadkill! Não me arrependo 👍
This song makes me wanna drive a muscle car.......🤘💪😎❤
MY 1967 289 MUSTANG..... Gosh, I miss that car....
Funny cause it makes me think of when I was a kid and my brother would be out there working on his car.
So the album cover shows "Boteler St" on what looks like old school down town toronto street signs. Never heard of that street. closest match is in Ottawa.
I think the car is a 75 Dodge Duster but not sure. The pic looks like it was taken from an upper floor of the masion sophia reception house for refugees on the corner of Boteler st and King Edward in Ottawa Ontario.
