  • It's August. It's hot. Most people think about floating the Boise river on a tube but don't miss out on some of the best trout fishing of the year. Big browns and rainbows are ready to be caught if you are willing to get in the river and find them.

Glad your back! I love your videos. So I was fly fishing in a spring fed river earlier in the spring and nobody in the camp ground was catching anything. I decided to put a lure on a bait casting rod after 2 days of being skunked. Second cast I caught a HUGE brown trout. The guy camping next to us saw me catch it and later told me I was "cheating". Thanks for teaching me how to cheat! Much more fun.

Great video and info! I just subscribed. I do have a couple of questions, what size Inline Single Replacement Hooks are you using on your SR-5 and which size PLUSINNO Fishing Net do you use 11.8" or 19.7"? Thanks in advance!

Awesome thank you. I’ve been getting out some lately locally near where I live on the Boise River learning how to trout fish again. And on July 26th I caught a 19 1/4-19 1/2 inch Brown. My very first Brown on the river. And then last week I caught an 18 1/4 inch rainbow.
Anyways I’ve been want to capitalize on the fishery near me. I came across this video and thought I would give some Rapalas a try. They’re hard to find locally. I guess I’ll have to order some from Tackle Warehouse online.

The fly shops in the area are incredibly helpful. I prefer Idaho Angler off Vista Ave.
In town, nymphing is key. Euro or indicator with perdigons through deep slots with right water speed.
