- It's never a disappointment when theists make videos... because they definitely say some stupid things... like beavers proving god, and how a lack of lightning means that the only god that apparently exists is a kind god... I'm not kidding.

Ok, I admit. That's a new one.
I think this is a hidden "look at the trees" argument.
What do beavers do? Build dams. What do they use to build them? Sticks, mud, TREES.
Look at the beavers long enough, and you'll see the trees. Look at the trees, therefore God. Fundamentally it's an argument as old as time.
I gotta admit, though, this argument does meander a bit, much like the stream before the beaver dams it.
I'm waiting for them to say 'Look at the tapeworms, therefore God'
I do think we could all benefit from spending more time studying beavers. I may or may not be speaking euphemistically.

Truthfully, I'd remain skeptical even if some eldritch entity did walk up to me and go "I'm God, worship me!" - scared stupid, absolutely, but skeptical all the same.

Any being that showed up and called itself a god should sooner raise the question "What trickery is this" than "Where do you want your sacrificial treasure pile O worshipful master?" Anyone who reacts with anything other than suspicion should be jailed from criminal _credulity._

I'd like to point to christians that no human has ever seen Yahweh creating anything. All creation was conveniently made before man, who was created last. Even Eve was created when Adam was sleeping. So, when Yahweh said he created everything, it could be lying its ass off, just taking credit for things that already existed.

I have met people who have claimed to have had dreams that agree with their particular beliefs. Firstly, it's awfully convenient to have had dreams that agree with beliefs. Secondly, there is no proof that those dreams were real. Dream claims are the weakest possible form of evidence.
Annnd there's no proof that the dream you had (if you had one) happened the way you said it did.
I would think if it's some prophecy transmitted by God waves to a person's brain that the resolution and audio quality would be so superior that it would be perfectly obvious that it was a prophecy and not some randomness from their subconscious.
We all believe in something my Guy, what is it that you believe in? Please don't tell my you believe in "science" or the "big bang" as if those aren't any more outlandish claims then the thousands of years of people having "silly" dreams that have shaped 99% of societies in the world...
I dream all kinds of weird stuff - like I can't even describe it with actual words, that's how weird they can be - I don't go around telling people my dreams are proof of anything, except that my brain is a really strange place to be, sometimes. Makes sleeping pretty entertaining, though, so that's a plus.

You can't have something that isn't made of anything, can't change(time), and isn't anywhere. It's literally just nothing.

It’s literally impossible for it to exist.
What's great is that any two people who use any of these arguments can meet each other, hear each other's particular denominational beliefs, and then denounce each other as heretics. It's easy to claim you speak the truth, until you're put in a room with other people who say the same thing.

@@condorboss3339I am firmly in the "2 is prime" camp. My argument is a classic "look at the trees", maybe a little "the fool says in his heart that there is no prime #2."
Look at the trees and masting behavior, putting out oodles of seeds one year, then minimal for a few years, before returning to oodles and starting the cycle again. This always happens in prime numbered years, 3, 5, 7, 11, etc. But it also happens in some species every 2 years.
Nature proves 2 is prime! Say amen!
What annoys me the most is the assumption that the natural state of reality is that everything stands still and nothing happens.
Why not the other way around? What if the universe just naturally moved by it's very nature, and it would take an act of God to make it stand still?
I had a difficult time understanding the African preacher's accent. I had to replay it and listen carefully. He did repeatedly say that God will preserve you alive. I do not know of anyone who Godfrey has kept alive. He also quotes Jeremiah 49:11. He forgot Jeremiah 20:7 "Oh, God, Thou hast deceived me, and I was deceived....." Dad used to say of the Arabs "Don't tell the people the truth. Tell them what they want to hear." I used to debate with a Mormon fellow. No matter what logical arguments I offered, he always had a rebuttal -inevitably religious. I finally realized "Never argue with a fool, lest you discover the fool is doing the same."
And who is the 'shouty man' he was constantly referring to?

For anyone saying "order doesn't come from chaos," here's an easy experiment you can do at home to demonstrate:
Get you a carton of bb's, or gumballs, etc. (as long as they are roughly similar in size), and a clear container, like a glass jar.
Pour them into the jar, and see how they settle after a few "layers" build up. Try adding bb's in handfuls, too, just to change it up.
With enough bb's in the jar, you will see a hexagonal pattern arising as they settle into place. None of them were placed (in this case) with any design; they were poured/dropped in randomly (chaos) and naturally, based on their shape, have arranged themselves into a pattern (order).
If this simple experiment can show order arising from chaos, then why should similar principles not also extend to the broader universe at large? Diamonds form naturally, and are lattices of carbon atoms. The metal spoon in your kitchen is a crystalline lattice which formed by simply melting the metal and letting it cool. Order without specific design occurs all the time, all around us.

I remember Bose-Einstein Condensate being used in a bad movie where a bunch of ghosts were created using that and they'd freeze people on contact even if they were inside a tank. A few weeks ago, I had a really messed up dream that I was tied to a chair in the basement of a Russian prison. Vladimir Putin was throwing empty vodka bottles at me. When I told Putin that I had already told the KGB, everything I knew, he said I don't do this to make you talk. I do it for fun.
It turns out that the dream did have a meaning. I had rolled over, and my arm was pinned behind my back in a very uncomfortable way. These are the only dreams that have meanings.
I can't even begin to explain my dreams... My head is a very strange place to be...

The first clip alone got me "If you watch a Beaver long enough you'll see proof of god." Like WHAT?!? If you watch an animal with instincts to artificially stop the flow of water and make their own still lakes because they can not safely survive on the ground or in quick moving water... that somehow proves there is an intelligent creator out there... If anything doesn't the behaviour or a beaver illustrate how the beaver is their own creator and master of its universe rather than a higher power or god?
Also just a shot in the dark with the lady trying to tell the world her vision... she just got dumped and needed to hype herself up. It all seemed to be about personal growth until she got to the part about personal doubts and used examples like "is that person thinking about me," "should I text them now," and "should I make the first move" sounds less like growth for an individual and more like dating/relationship advice. I also love how she's suggesting religious people should ghost the non religious people... but totally forgot the religion she claims to follow would also consider her "vision" a message from the devil not God since soothsayers, mages, and other mystic/faith workers outside of God and his Church are false and the worker of pretenders that must be ignored by the faithful.

@lout160 I feel for you. I dated a girl raised in a fundamental family a couple of years ago. She grew up in a private fundamental school. When she tried to stay college to be a very she couldn't handle it. She stayed a recluse until her dad left the family. Her first job ever was at the age of 27 at an amazon FC. That's where we met. It took me a while to figure all this out because she couldn't straight out say all this. I don't think she'll ever have a relationship. It's saddening to me.

But I also don't think I would have developed as deep of an understanding of myself and those around me had I not gone through it. Regardless, support from people like you feels so much more meaningful where it's not contingent upon some dogmatic pretext or forced through some "servant of god" facade. @@theantitheist1 Absolutely. I don't consider that "servant of god" mode to be part of the person. I'm very close with many religious people. It's just really frustrating having that disconnect between us and seeing the damage it does to them. It makes me feel like an outcast more often than not, so sympathy or empathy is a huge deal to me as I almost never receive it outside of a religious context.

Kent is stuck in 8th grade science as it was taught in 1960. It explains both his bad and outdated arguments, as well as his unyielding reverence for middle school science textbooks as a source of infinite truth about the state of modern science.
I said the same thing. Also, when he said that time, space, and matter can't exist without the other, he madesome assumptionsthat arent supd snd ignored a condition.
He said, " if you have matter and no space where would you put it. If you had matter and space but no time when would you put it ."
Even if we assume that matter needs a space to exist, we don't know that space and matter need time to exist. But even saying that it does, he never addresses the fact of if you can have space and time without matter.
And fancies himself a science teacher, let's not forget that...
To be fair, most people are taught the three basic states of matter. Plasma and Condensate are a bit more advanced concepts.
Like the five senses. We got a lot more than five but you only really teach the five basic ones and maybe add balance as a 6th while everything else is for the nerds :D
So 3 states and 5 senses is enough for say a primary school science teacher. But I guess Kent thinks himself as a high school one so yeah he'd need to provide the others.

Then God kills all except eight.
Then God sends plauges and illness killing many.
Then God divides us, by language and ideologies.
This seems to be contrary in nature.
One possible hypothesis to explain this, is that God just wants to watch us multply... that He likes to watch.

It’s actually absurd how Christians use free will as an example of god, somehow? When in reality, the concept and implications of free will directly contradict their god.
The Christian god is omniscient (among other things), so he knows everything that has happened, and more importantly, everything that will happen.
This directly implies a predetermined future, which contradicts free will, since everything you do is simply an advancement towards that determined future. So a world with a Christian god can’t have free will, simply the illusion of it. And that’s only one of the many contradictions faced by the existence of the Abrahamic Christian god as described in the Bible.
