I love how many truths you find out in the hospital. I haven't always had knowledge about Silent Hill and have always wanted to experience the first game. When I got to I fell even more in love with this series. These videos help look at everything individually and why they are important to the game as a whole. Not everyone has the same outlook on the games. But it helps piece the story together for those who wouldn't have knowledge of some of the religious symbolism certain things have. If I didn't take art history I wouldn't have any knowledge of religious history.
The hospital in Silent Hill seem like the creepiest place there...It’s scary to think if they were doing rituals with injured patients...Nice small set up to the 4th one...
Hey Muse! I discovered your channel recently and I could not stop watching your Silent Hill content, I watched almost every symbolism episodes. It is so good to know that other people are also fascinated for this series which is so deep and amazing. I am still trying to fit Silent Hill's content is some of my college works. Unfortunately I cannot support you, I am still a poor college student, but I share all of your content with my friends whose are also likes the series, thank you for your posts!
I have felt that Silent Hill is analogous to a person suffering from mental illness. Things seem normal but suddenly without warning something let's the darkness back in.
I was a bit too young to decipher all of the meanings in the first Silent Hill. But I loved the game and played it several times over. The hospital and ending areas of the game when you exit the sewer were the most terrifying parts of the game. Every playthrough.
for those who don't know, since it isn't explained, hat makers went mad because they worked with mercury when making hats, which is quite toxic in more than minuscule amounts.
Ya know, looking back on the third game, that is a bit of a let down. I don't know why they would chose Brookhaven over Alchemilla for Heather's return to Silent Hill. For technical. reasons I get it was because the hospital was modeled and rendered from the second game but there's different rooms as well as a different alternate world from James's regardless. Alchemilla was a very influential place if they chose that route.
@@barmbailey6934 agreed, I'm pretty sure the reasons were mostly technical as you said. Still, Alchemilla was such an iconic location, it sucks we didn't get to explore it as Heather.
@@TheSantiago3000 Agreed ,reasons were technical but it makes zero sense especially that part where we can see that tape with lisa garland. Shame they didnt remade alchemilla and that part of town . Still an excellent horror game
@@barmbailey6934 sh3 should be a let down to any true fan of sh1,silent hill orgins shouldve been where heather was placed during sh3 not where james sunderland went.
I discovered your channel a few months ago when I replayed the games and binged all your videos. Was sad when I watched them all. Glad to see you're still making videos on this amazing series.
I've still never have gotten the true end of silent Hill 1. In both of my runs of the game I've fucked up the requirements twice and only found out when the final boss was the bad end version.
The vines covering the gate to Alessa's room are kind of a plot hole, as Dahlia (and possibly Kaufman) were definitely there recently. Dahlia came to the hospital to destroy the aglaophotis that Kaufman had in his office and take Alessa.
I always see the monsters as things stuck in transition, halfborn, malformed, aborted. Samael pushing his way through the Portal of flesh drinking the blood sacrifices of the summoning ritual.
You should also make a video on the symbolism behind the Hell gas station (which is technically called Shell after the real life gas station chain but made to look like it's called Hell) in the first SH game near Balkan Church
Just finished my streaming series of this game and it's really cool to watch videos like this and learn more about the lore and meanings behind things. I admittedly was confused by the story a bit but I'm starting to understand it better now. Creepy stuff..
I've been trying to study Japanese for a while. I was playing the game with my friend (he was doing most of the playing while I helped solve things - I have cerebral palsy so tank controls are just not possible for me), and when the 4 appeared I started laughing maniacally. I explained why Japan has/had (I've heard its become an outdated practice) this habit of skipping the 4th floor in elevators and such. And he was like "so what you're saying is we're going to hell." 🤣🤣
I grew up across the street from an abandoned school and that place was super haunted. At night i could see lights passing by every window which was impossible because the class rooms where divided by walls like normal class rooms and also constant voices talking very loudly but the worst was the basement where only me and 7 other friends found strength in numbers and foolishly ventured down with what weapons we could gather as 11yo kids like hammers, kitchen knives and baseball bats stuff like that. We grabbed each other's shirts with our free hand while the bravest of us was up front with a flashlight while the last in line used a bic lighter. So we are getting deep in to the pitch black boiler room / basement whatever and its quiet but then something runs past us stomping loud and hard as it ran. All we could do was run for the crack of light the leaked out of the exit. We all made it but to this day i still wonder wtf that was down there. I didn't mean for this to turn into a childhood story but it just feels right with this video.
So here's a thought. Do the guns some of the nurses in Silent Hill 3 carry have some significance or was it just just a means to add more fear to the player? I'd love to see what you can come up with if you make a video on the nurses revolvers.
Why is everyone so confused? When the 1st Event caused by Dhalia and allessa caused Samael's Darkness to swallow silent hill, the hospital staff were driven to either fight the monsters they saw in their heads or like kaufman consider suicide. So it makes sense that those that succumb to samael entering the real world through their flesh would end up reanimate or possessed still with their gun at hand.
The hospital is my favorite Silent Hill location, honestly. It's always just so creepy.
Even before it turns to the Other world
@J. O. yeesss!! That made my heart jolt when I first played it...

Fun fact : In my country the lady's mantle plant is called "the cow's cheese", mainly because it is often used for feeding cattle.

Whats the name of these relaxing song played on the ending of the video, when u talk about the book ?
What's the name of the track that plays when you start talking about alchemilla (not the channel's intro)?
Why does Alessa look like an adult instead of a child?
I hope, if SH remake is a real project, doctors and nurses will screams for help.
Is the nice voice behind the videos the one person made these great video and chanel or just the reader?

I think its meant that when the first "Event" took the hospital some of the staff tried to fight off the monsters and some were driven to suicide.
