There's no need to get a Custom Shop Gibson to get a great guitar. I tried three Bonomassa Les Pauls two with his signature on the neck inlays. Sent two back within the return period. Kept the third for about 6-7 months. Ended up selling it - at a loss. I already had my Gibsons, but wanted to fairly judge them (including a '61 SG, 2 Les Paul Customs and '58 Korina V too). They all fall very far short of very good - anything. I kept the white Custom and modded it with nut, bridge, and pickups, to make it fine to just grab and not worry about it, but it's not a great Les Paul even with the mods. Totally fine for art to have sitting around or on the wall, light hobbyists, and for beginners, but that's it.
