In my opinion, with this album they arrived at pink floyd, led zeppelin, david bowie, queen and beatles. It would be nice they do more of these.

    Young Modern is great, people!
At first I thought, "Whaaa...??" at his vocals, but once I listened to the whole thing, I was like, "THIS IS AWESOME." They have really progressed as a band, it's incredible and wonderful to see and hear.

Fuckin awesome. And his lyrics are still great with nice meanings, but he's in another stage of his life, where is happy with himself, it's different. Love this song so much, and this performance is flawlessly.

I am so excited to have tickets to their montreal show.

new album got a much 60s and 70s feeling there, in some way but it also a brilliant idea and composition without leaving the original silverchair sound (from neon ballroom style) .... guys, just grown up and look from the positive side okay...

busco a alguien que conozca todos los trabajos de silverchair y le guste este álbum mas que nada , nunca pude compartir con nadie sobre este trabajo porque nadie entendió la evolución, todos mis amigos lo odiaron. los australianos demostraron clase.

I think I'd be quite disappointed if he was still writing the same kinds of songs he did when he was 14 (seeing as he's 27 or 28 now). The band's evolution is really interesting to hear, in my opinion.

I listen to tons of diverse styles of music (punk, jazz, R&B, funk, alternative)who chares.... The thing is I've not payed attention to this band from Frogstomp and all I can say is 13 years don't come alone. This album is awesome and If they do something different now, then the better, mature or not. Same as comparisons of Incubus' previous work to current "aclotm" and Light Grenades by the usual frozen brain fans. Enjoy new stuff from the hearts of the artists as I believe "young modern" is

thank you so much for this comment. at least the last sentence. i think a lot of people who have grown up with silverchair just haven't grown out of their teenage angsty-can only listen to ONE style of music-phase, and are holding a grudge against SC for the fact that they have grown out of it. or even... never went through it...

@AceGuitarR7 -- lol this is rock.. not anything near pop.. real music.. you probably aren't intelligent enough to realize bands evovle. he would rather be prooud of himself than care about people who want him to ROCK OUT.. great music

  • @Phade21GSX

While this album wasn't the album I was hoping for it's a good disc. I give 'em credit for just sticking together and writing. I'll still always be hoping for a heavy rock/orchestral album like Neon Ballroom, but with more raw energy and dyanamics of newer songwriting. I don't mind poppy s*** but, if the next album is all clean guitar and pianos I'm probably going to have to rock the old tunes a lot more. I will say Daniel's 'live' voice has gotten better.

Silverchair changed so much, and some people don't accept that, but why the fuck a great band like them would not change the sound? To be a crappy band like AC/DC? That you play one album and all the others is the same? No, Silverchair is better than that, and the sound of them is different in each album, and this is the good thing in them, this is the good thing in his sound. The people who doesn't see this or refuse to see this is a bunch of jerks who stopped in time

i used to like coldplay a lot. but after realizing how extremely repetetive they are i stopped listening to them. they never took risks and therefore did not stay with me for very long. silverchair on the other hand, take risks, aswell as other musicians. but they are rare, very rare.

ok, unintentional then... you said experimenting with other genders instead of genres and considering that if Daniel isn't gay he's the most metrosexual dude ever, so it was a good pun, even if it was just a spelling mistake.
