    Your office chair cheatsheet and tier list on the website should be more like a google sheet or drive, so you can keep updating and adding to it every time you review a new chair that's not on there. If you look at Doug DeMuro's Doug Score sheet, it might be easy to implement something like that

    Gaming chairs claim to be the best choice for gaming, but not a single one can actually beat a proper ergonomic office chair for the exact same use case.
    The racing seat fad seems to be dying down, and hopefully, the bigger brands will stop making them entirely.

    As gaming equipment, these chairs are missing a crucial component: RGB!
    It's well known that just by adding RGB, the performance of these chairs can be improved by 28.3745%.

      @@mikewu3103Asus is a not a well renowned office furniture brand, they're only specialists in PC hardware and gaming peripherals.
      Haworth is a top notch office furniture brand, with some of the best office chairs on the market.
      The Zody is one of the best chairs that Haworth makes, and it being an older design doesn't diminish its ability at all.
      There are so many high end office chairs on the market that are virtually unchanged from their inception, yet they still get the job done.

      @@mikewu3103 Something like a chair doesn't need to be the latest model for it to be great for sitting. I don't personally have experience with either of those chairs but I just wanted to point that out. Chairs are basic technology that can be added to but not necessarily with satisfactory results. For example, I ended up choosing a basic Staples office chair with a mesh back in the store over more expensive all mesh options with adjustable headrest and lumbar adjustments. I found that while one of those options was comfortable at first, it made my legs stiff when I got up after sitting for 20 mins or so because of the front edge of the short mesh seat digging into my legs. I sat in the basic Staple office chair during an eye appointment before this and immediately noticed how comfortable it was for my back without any special lumbar adjustment and no headrest and the reg seat cushion was fine.
      Ideally you want to try to sit in these chairs or something similar to what you're interested in. Going to Staples that day let me know that I don't want any mesh seats, at least not without some kind of cushioning around the edges. Sometimes basic and comfortable is you need.

    "What happened to the best being the 'actual' best regardless of price?" ... that depends entirely on how you classify "best". The best tool for a job is the one that a) you can get and b) does that job. The Ford Model T was far from the best in just about every category, but it was *attainable* by just about anyone. That Herman Miller/Logitech chair is reportedly amazing, but it's not attainable for the vast majority of people. When you price the customer out of the product, you stop being the best for the customer. In this case, a "best cars *for* gamers", you're intrinsically including a customer base. A "best cars" list might include a Bugatti, maybe even a Formula 1 car. A "best cars" for daily commute driving who want the stretch to an occasional go for a track day wouldn't weigh as heavily in their favor.

    7:15 In my opinion, and I have frequently bemoaned almost this exact point about a myriad of different situations, is: the truth is no longer seen as something another human being is entitled to (caveat being to the best of one’s ability, we all make mistakes); the truth has become a commodity to be bought, sold, traded, or withheld as it suits our will. Money seems frequently to be involved, I’ve never been smart enough to figure the whole equation out myself.

    The Gaming Embody is a great chair but it is far from perfect. I had to get a 3" thick cushion to go on top of the seating area because those plastic levers at the front that retract and extend the seating area were constantly digging into the bottom of my thighs. There's literally no padding on those tough plastic adjusters. With the cushion its perfect though. But honestly, at that price, I should not have needed to buy extra padding.

    • @StardustLegacyFighter
      @StardustLegacyFighter 3 місяці тому +3

      @@StardustLegacyFighter I have a Fern too in the other room and I do prefer it. But like I say, the Embody is fine after putting a padded cushion on the seat to cover the hard plastic adjuster handles. What i'm saying is Herman Miller should have included a cushion like that since they charge such a high price for an imperfect seat. There's bound to have been people at the factory who tested it and came to the conclusion that the seat needed more padding

    • @StardustLegacyFighter
      @StardustLegacyFighter 3 місяці тому

      @0perativeX I think that HM prefers not to make chairs with padded seats, as they expect the user's weight to be distributed across the entire seat to avoid any pressure points.
      However, we're not all built the same, and some will definitely require extra padding, which is the main reason why mesh chairs (like the Aeron) are so polarising.

    • @0perativeX
      @0perativeX 3 місяці тому

      @@StardustLegacyFighter The seating area where you butt goes is absolutely fine - that part is like a hammock. But at the sides of the seat at the front, there's 2 plastic levers that aren't padded or covered at all and they stick up into the bottom of your thighs where your thigh meets the underside of your knee joint. I've seen a couple independant reviewers also mention this problem. But like I say, the problem is solved by covering the levers with a cushion.
