A restaurant near me used to have the most amazing chess pie…I mean, really the best dessert ever. It was served with a white chocolate sauce. The restaurant went out of business a few years ago, and my friends and I were desperate to replicate the recipe…so seeing this has given me hope! Can’t wait to try it!
Hi again! You know it looks so easy!!! As I’ve mentioned I can’t cook, but the few things I can cook are the throw everything in a dish mix it and put it in the pot/pan and let it cook kind of recipes!!!!! Once a recipe becomes overly detailed (heat this for two minutes and eight seconds if it’s more or less seconds your recipe is ruined!!! 😂😂) I’m done!!! I’m going to mess it up!!! This looked pretty easy!!! So thank you!!!!
I baked this and the new favorite pie of the family. I was so proud, I feel like I am such a great baker now though I am just 1st timer. My hubby also got me a kitchen aid food processor and mixer.
You can also mix the cocoa in with the sugar instead of sifting. Even Paula Deen does that. So much easier. And you can use a double boiler to melt everything.
Some people have preferences over whether they want to sift or not. Some people may not have access to a sieve or sifter. Somebody once told me that it’s never a requirement for any recipe to sift ingredients. Is it okay to skip that step according to our preferences & whether we have a sieve or sifter or not? It’s never a problem to be flexible in the kitchen. It certainly is okay to do a recipe your way like you can add sriracha to a recipe that doesn’t call for it if you like sriracha for example. There are never any rules when it comes to cooking & baking. I guess that for any recipe, if we skip sifting or use an alternative method to sifting, as long as you like your results, that is all what matters. I hope that sifting is never a rule for any recipe.
I notice that you do a lot more steps than others. I don’t know if I should do the cheaper easier option or this one. Which would taste better you know lol! I’ve seen most not even need eggs.

Wonderful--great job! And that's awesome! I've got plenty of recipes to put them both to use 😉
@@SugarSpunRun I baked a lot of your recipes! Almost everyday I am baking. I tried baking other recipes but it’s not good as yours. Yours is the best

Mouth watering!!! Amazing holiday deserts Sam 🎄
Thanks for the video. I'm excited to try it. Take care ✌🏾
This one is really really good if you like brownies. 😊😊

I prefer not to with the cocoa but you can always do what works best for you :)
@@SugarSpunRun it's a suggestion for your viewers
I like the lemon chess 🥧 pie too
So I saw brownie, pie and chocolate. Clicked on video. And oh yes, this is my new dessert 😄. Something different for my kitchen.
I hope everyone loves it! I know they will. 😊
What modifications would I need to make if I use buttermilk? Southern chess pies often have that buttermilk twang that compliments the sweetness.
I loves your channel and sugar Geek
Thank you so much! Sugar Geek is actually one of my favorites too. She's soooo talented!
Mouth watering chocolate pie

If you don't sift the cocoa powder here you could end up with a few lumps of cocoa powder in the pie. It will still work though. :)
My pie it moves like jello in the middle but it has cracks on the top , so I bake it longer ?
Is sifting cocoa powder or any ingredient for any recipe a must or a requirement?
It depends on the recipe. It’s always best to follow what the recipe says. 😊
D oh my gosh look at the cracks 😮 it looks good though
You’ve got that glow Sam. Very pretty.
Do I really have to sift the cocoa powder for this recipe? If I skip that step, will it still be okay? Is it really a must?
It will probably be fine, but you might end up with some lumps of cocoa powder. Just use your whisk to try and smooth them out 😊
The 🍫 chocolate chess 🥧 y looks so delicious
Thank you 😋
I would like to have options for different types of crust such as a short bread ones, any suggestions?
I’m honestly not sure how it would go on a graham cracker or Oreo crust but it’s definitely worth a shot. 😊

I try to be very thorough in my instructions. This one would definitely taste better though.
