Seriously 100% the truth. I bobtailed from Georgia to Louisville Kentucky through Knoxville today. Right through this storm. Sometimes my speed was 35 mph. Thank you God for answering my prayer and getting me through safely.

I work 3rd shift and with a 25 mile commute into Knox (and about 7 inches of snow here in Mascot), it was just safer to call in. Let the road crews do their job!

Conditions that are routine for me in Idaho, are really difficult for folks over there. We get to practice our winter driving every day. They don't have that opportunity, so they get in trouble. One tip for them, a 5 or 10 pound bag of kitty litter is a good thing to carry. Throwing some under the wheels gives you good traction to get up a hill or away from the gutter and it doesn't cost you that much.
I live in Wyoming we get alot of snow i drives 4x4 and still carry a shovel and kitty litter with me everywhere I go

You guessed wrong. Truckers have to deliver goods & not go on the roads for no reason. People do have to work.
So sad when it gets like this. Summer is so fun in Knoxville. And hot lol.
As a truck driver I recommend to all the drivers when winter comes to please pay more attention and be careful on the snow and more careful when you drive on the ice specialty on the bridges and the mountain, stay away from the cellphone.

People knew it was coming at least a in advance. TDOT dropped the ball on the storm.
Actually we didn't know about all this weather, they said maybe 1-2 inches, or a trace in Knoxville, maybe none. They did treat the rds yesterday, n last night, but this is the joy of living in the tennessee Valley. Weather will change every 5 minutes.
They knew DAYS ahead…TDOT fail for sure. I live here, I’d been seeing this forecast for up to 6” for at least 3-4 days.
Driving to fast, all sped limits should be no more than 55 Mph. God save us. Amen

Clearly have little to no understanding of global warming -- hotter summers, colder winters -- it's the variance --smh.
And nobody has winter tires. wide low profile tires are no good in snowy conditions, my VW GTI has 225/40 18 tires, they are NO GOOD in snowy conditions. In the winter I put 215/55 16 winter tires on my car. They are dedicated winter tire made to remain soft in COLD CONDITIONS.
Peoples just don't fkn learn my state we get snow every year so I got and AWD car with studded snow tires. Only if it safe to go out if not I'm staying home. Not risking even if I have good tires on.

For days like this I ve never own a car with automatic transmission you just rely on brakes to slow down and lose control and I rarely use my brakes driving manual transmission , too bad they are going extinct in the USA.
I still drive a manual and given I spent 28 years driving in this in New England, I still use a bit of caution ;)
Drove my old Ford Ranger with 4 cylinder, 5 speed, all over northern Minnesota and Wisconsin for 20 winters with no problems (just chucked snow into the bed for extra weight).
