    You sir are doing a great service to the electronics community....repairing and replacing what was previously broken and would have went to the city dump. Thank you for your efforts at giving new life ..where what have been none.

    Joey you are getting so good at this! I really admire your work! That HDMI replacement on the first one was top notch and the fact that you even tried on the second one looking like that speaks a lot of your confidence and perseverance. Excellent video as always, keep them Rollin!

    As a general convention, though not a hard standard, where you have polarised components such as diodes, LEDs and electrolytic capacitors, the positive side uses a square PCB pad and negative a round PCB pad. A square pad is also often used to indicate Pin 1 of ICs and connectors.

    If I were to repair Xbox One consoles, I would try the power button, then either a disc or pressing the button on a controller. Just to see if the front ribbon cable isn't attached.

    When replacing the row of resistors did you miss one - RF614, it looked like there was a resistor there before but when you replaced them you left those pads empty. Could be wrong though, hard to tell with all that gunk.

    Did you forget to place a resistor at R6F14? The row of 6 resistors.

    Hello! I was wondering what magnification do you have on your microscope. Im planning on trying my hand tech repairs, but im not sure what microscope would be sufficient for this kind of work

    You can try replacing the NCP4205 chip on the 2nd Xbox and see if it works.

    This is off topic of this particular video, sorry for that. I am working on a Nintendo Switch and I just need clarification between a true short and low impedance caps. If there's a true short on a cap, both ends should be about the same and near 0 Ohm? Low impedance would be one side say 15 Ohm or 30 Ohm 10 Ohm etc and the other side 0 Ohm? My multimeter seems to beep somewhere up to 200 Ohm or 150, not sure. I just know a beep doesn't mean a short 100% of the time.

    Interesting, I've never seen this sort of soldering before, Only done stuff like LED tape and some dev pads for programing smart switches myself really.
    What microscope setup are you using, any recommendations for a budget one? I've used a simple magnifier on the helping hands, but it isn't strong enough, and also it is plastic so has a few melt marks where I've bumped it with the iron :)

    I’m very curious about something. The HDMI port that you took off that was loose. Is there no way to repair that so that it would hold the cord properly? If the HDMI port does work, you would think there would be a way to just make it pulled the plug better again.

    • @billythefxck
      @billythefxck Рік тому

      Yeah, he could have just pinched it with pliers. The repair was absolutely unnecessary

    This would be more interesting if you explained what you are doing to test the component, why this works and what it is to achieve. At the moment these videos are like watching someone doing work you dont care about as you dont understand it.

    Hi, i have a little question, I'm not asking for a deep dive answer, but just what come in your mind first if I said I have an Xbox one S that turn on, with a full display and all, but just turn off by itself after like 30 secondes. In any case, I'm subbing to your channel because your videos are really great ;)
