I really appreciate that there's a mix of designer and niche fragrances. I don't really appreciate videos that are all niche fragrances because it feels like some kind of a perfume snob brag "oh, I don't wear common designer swill, only this fragrance no one's heard of with a polarizing smell half of people don't like that's limited edition and cost $500 an ounce!" A nice designer perfume can smell just as lovely as a niche one. As for the Chloe, it was my first adult perfume purchase. I still love it and wear it to this day. My bottle is oxidized (not rusted) as well. It's because they used fine silver for the bottle. It's annoying since I kept it in a cool, dry place, but there are videos online about how to remove it if it bothers you a lot.
Diptyque Do Son is my absolute favourite perfume! It reminds me of my grandmother; she passed away a few years back so Do Son always makes me feel like she's physically near me again. She would always smell of jasmine, that very warm scent. Thank you for this video! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Love from Malaysia~!

A good perfume is just like a fine wine. Suppose to last long even if you dont use it for days, weeks,months even years. As long you keep it close and keep it in cold, dark space.

Le labo Santal 33 is the most odd smelling one in my collection but with that said I LOVE it. I cannot live without it in my collection. My bottle says “Queen Stacy”. I plan to add another Le labo one in the Fall. I also love byredo bald’afrique. Reminds me of Paris. Love peony and suede, wood sage and sea salt and ginger biscuits (holiday scent) from jo Malone The Ysl libre gave me a headache too. I got a sample and had to scrub it off

Joan, you should really try Byredo’s Baudelaire and 1996. They smell amazing, the first one would be considered more of a manly scent, the second one is unusual, at first one may not like it, but later on it smells fantastic.
I loved all the perfumes that you showed and I can’t wait to try them. However, in the end, you showed the Libre perfume and I was soo excited because I love it but you said that you don’t like it and you can’t handle it. This made me sad 🙈😭 because most of the things you tell us are what I love too and for the first time there is something that we like differently 😂. After all, still my favourite UA-camr ❤️❤️.
i don’t think slow dance is unique it’s very sweet but chic scent both gypsy water and slow dance are warm addicting smells and definitely huge compliment getters :) i also really like mojave ghost hehe i recently got into diptyque and really love eau moheli which has a dreamy ylang ylang scent!
Roses that you might be interested if you don’t like super floral heavy or powdery roses: Rosabotanica , balenciaga D’un Soir, cartier Pamplemousse Rose, hermes Also, check out the Jo Loves range. It is like the regular Jo Malone range but much better performance and longevity I hear.
If you love floral scents, why don’t you try Gucci Floral. All the perfumes in this line smells so heavenly. And you could also go for Versace perfumes. Their scents is very feminine and more on the classier side like when you go to party or attend an event. They have settled floral and fruity scents mixed into it.

Nice video idea! I will definitely try to find some of them and smell them. I also think that my mom would love at least half of them judging from the descriptions what notes each perfume contains. I always like to look for new perfumes but rarely find one that smells nice to me and smells nice when I put it on 😅 One I will probably always go back to is the Dior Hypnotic Poison ; I fell in love with it the first time my mom brought it home ❤ funny enough quite some people don't like it, it is quite a unique smell.
Been waiting so long for this video. I really like the scent of Chanel Chance but because I like stronger scents, ended up getting coco mademoiselle! Joan highly recommend you try Chanel Gabrielle!

l'ombre dans l'eau is my favorite scent as well! I discovered it last year and couldn't stop using it. Your mom has great taste ;) Chanel Chance eau tendre is another lovely scent that I really enjoyed a couple years back. I probably used it too often though and got tired of it haha
I did get a leathery smell right of the bat with santal 33, but not in a bad way. And as it sat on my skin it developed and the other notes came out 😊. Not my thing, but it is a very nice scent actually. I love all the le labo scents, all very unique but not vor everyone 😊

The only Jo Malone scent that lasts long and smells expensive, in my opinion , is Incense & Cedrat. The second long-lasting one is English Oak & Hazelnut.

I feel the same about the YSL parfum! I fell in love with the packaging, but the smell is just not for me. If you have the chance, you could try the YSL Paris (if you haven't already). It's the one that reminds me of my mother!
Super love Chloe Edp. It's surprising you say you don't like rose but that perfume has rose on its top notes. But it's not the rose that smells like a grandma, it's like a modern rose scent 😊🌹❤️

I work for Jo Malone London and this is a comment we get a lot. It’s because we offer “Colognes” as opposed to “parfum” or “eau de toilette”. Cologne is the lightest of the bunch (basically it’s doesn’t have a lot of oil in it) so it makes the overall scent light and fresh. The higher the oil concentration in the bottle, the stronger the scent and longevity in the product. If you are in love with the scent, then I would use a body creme in the same scent (fragrance also sticks better to well moisturized skin). Before I worked in fragrances, I would always wonder why they would push a body creme so hard when you purchase a scent, and now I know it really works. I hope that helps with the confusion and disappointment!!

i just get into perfume recently and i've been eyeing diptyque. my sist got eau rose and got me the fleur de peu sample. it smells so good and very long lasting as well, but it's not strong enough so other people won't be able to smell it unless they're close enough. my experience with chanel chance eau vive isn't very good tho. first it smells way too strong and later on the smell bothers me. maybe i prefer more subtle perfume :) zara powdery magnolia is also a good choice for less pricier side as well

Ahhh the YSL Libre is my "signature" scent haha it mixes with my chemistry so perfectly and I am obsessed! I get so so many compliments.

the chanel chance you have is actually the EDP, not the EDT! the EDT is nice but imo the EDP is perfection
