- Mark put a great tribute show together for John Lennon's 75th Birthday at the Iridium in NYC.
Andy Timmons joined in the fun.
Mixed and Edited by Lance McVickar for Iridium Live
Camera op Jeff Rubin
Wow, I could play this everyday and never get tired of it. John was in the room that night.
Incredible performance by all. 🙏😎
Earl's guitar tone cuts like a knife and then he gives Andy a masterclass on how to become a Rock legend
Angie?…which one is she?
Mark Hudson puts a lot of effort into being ‘cool’…Earl just IS.
That's a lot of guitarists working together in a live show. If you minimize the video, ignore the showcase of "cool" on stage, and just fucking listen... This performance is great.
Slick is a bad ass.
I love this song.
High Level
Earl is Legend
Earl Slick 😄👍🏻 🎸
Great version!! These initial sessions with John Lennon in 1980 must have been terrific!!
Nailed it!! John would be proud, I'm sure. World tour 1981, Lennon and Clapton. Pretty sure it would have been on a different level
I think he definitely would've played this one!!
I didn't know Earl played with John Waite n the 80s Was a known fact he played wwith David Bowie after Spiders from Mars breakup. This guy can play anything
Earl's a true bonafide rock and roll treasure!
that was awesome!
Oh, man. Sublime.
Beautiful! Earl Slick is a great guitar player! Iconic solo ! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 Great Band !
Mark I saw you pull up at the Santa Monica Mall in the early 70's in a VW "Thing".
I will never hold that against you... Great version here!!!
Mark and Earl are awesome!
Not that it matters much, but Earl slick is my new guitar hero.
Wow! This is all brilliant! One thing though... that drummer is totally amazing. You read/hear about these "great musicians" making comments here on UA-cam. I happen to be an authentic, real deal McCoy "5th Dan Black Belt" kinda drummer. I'm telling you, this bloke REALLY knows how to groove! You guys made me even happier! /Pete
The sound.
Anyone that put thumbs down I'M LOSING YOU.
Come back, John.
Bet that brought back some good memories!
I love it !
Most excellent, Thanks for posting.
this is fantastic....
great version
Great stuff this guy has some great riffs
Very cool, enjoyed watching & listening to it!
Wow 😳💜💜💜
Sweet!
Mark produced 6 of Ringo's albums, and Gilbert Gottfried has a new podcast interview with him. Great stories you have to hear!
When I listen to this my whole fucken neighborhood listens 😂
There ain't no doubt about it, I'm losing you 🎶
Very,,,Right On!😎
FUCKING AWESOME !!!!!!!!!
Respectful Job! Thank you
Geniales.
Awesome,
Conmovedor
Wow. Very Cool. You guys need a killer Sax ! Just so happens 🤣
Awesome cover
Orange Man Good.....Earl is a God.
Even with 4 guitarists already onstage, you make room for a talent like Andy Timmons if he's in the house.
Just seen Earl in Bristol
MIKE STERN EN SEGUNDA VIOLAAA
ESTUKA EN VIOLAAA
Happy 65th Birthday Mark Hudson
Mark brill and rest of band wow
2023...
He has that John Lennon sound and plastic Ono bad don't forget Eric Clapton
Looks like Earl is playing an SG with Humbucker pick ups
Only five guitarists?
i counted six...:)
5. Probably 1. Bass. It. Happens at. Tributes
Sounds real good' I can't watch every guitarist try to "out rock n roll each other" PFFFFFFFFFFFT
Which vocal effect? Just slap delay?
Kate Hudsons Uncle in multi coloured beard and other shit .
666 likes... idk how I can put it to 667 - but I need too...
sounds like Slick is playing with the school of rock.
got enough guitars there lads ?
please tell me what year it was? What's going on here? Is that really Marс Hudson? I'm confused...
Six guitars ?
Like Paul would say "a little bit faster"
Is that Sean on drums?
Jeff Lynn shud do this
I think John used to call him oil slick
Sounds great. But does it really take 5 guitars to play this song?
Happens at Tributes
You can do it with 2, but as far as I can tell, it's arranged for 4. In that case, 5 is not *too* many
Is that Andy Timmons?
It is!
it is the one and only Andy.
no one is dancing, the crowd is bored, grimy self-absorbed juvenile "rockers" who never grew up.
nice cover but i don't understand why use five guitar? that´s to much, I think so!!!
Es un pecado invitar a Andy Timmons y no dejarlo solear
I liked this version but Mark Hudson shouldn't have messed it up with the ending...no need to scream ..otherwise this was good.
What's Earl doing up there????? he looks like he's in bad shape from the night before he could do a little better than that!! that's a good cut.
5 guitarists including one that supposedly played with Beatles and Bowie.. Sorry if I expected a little more out of this....
YES!
Mark is a player...meanwhile his wife sits at home, and he collects women under the age of 40...he likes tall thin brunettes
Lucy Hale looking like that? Well good for him. Maybe they have an open marriage.
What?
Girls just go crazy for a rainbow coloured beard! XD
Relevance??!
His wife might want him to get a few in b4 the, ED sets in.
la guitrra que hace " la campanita" tin, tin , tin ,tin....... esta muy desafinada. una lastima
Wtf do they need 5 guitarists for?
Great seeing earl slick in action, Mark Hundson's overrated
mark is very talented..look at his resume
Stupid Yoko left the best version of this song off the album...Sorry but Double Fantasy was just an 'okay' album...and nothing of Yoko's was ever played by me..UGH
John was just getting back into the groove and was doing what he wanted. If you’ve listened to some of the demos on YT, there was a lot more great stuff on the way.
Santaria and rock don't mix too good IMHO!
Hugh McCracken played with Slick on it in the studio. Sorry, but Hudson's timing of the lines isn't even close enough to be effective for me.
He didn’t yell ‘Drop It!’ when he got to the line ‘Do you still have to carry that cross?’
Thanks for let letting us know. Hopefully they'll try better next time. Feel free to let them know your critique and let us know if and when you hear back from them.
Did. OK. Almost an imitation. Of John
Thought it was Jeff Lynne for a second
