    Thank you. Your video helped me understand hat hooping is not as difficult as it seems. I am new to embroidery and have a PR1055X. My unit came with the wide brim cap frame. Do you need a different driver for the flat brim cap frame?

      @mysewingroomdotca  Рік тому

      Yes you do need a different driver for the Flat Brim Cap Frame. To get started with driver, frame and jig you can purchase the complete assembly called the Flat Brim Cap Frame Set (PRCF5). Can be found at your local dealer or available in Canada here: mysewingroom.ca/product/brother-efpr-prcf5-flat-brim-cap-frame-set-pr/

    Have you tried either frame on an Otto trucker hat or Richardson hat?

      Our team at My Sewing Room has not embroidered on those brands specifically but we suggest trying out the Flat Brim Cap Frame if the brims are very flat and if they are more curved the Advanced Cap Frame or Wide Cap Frame might be the best. If you bring a sample hat into your Brother Dealer they may be able to assist in finding the best tool for the job.

    Hi! Thank you for making this video.
    Do you know if the flat brim cap frame can be used with the wide frame? I’d like to able to do flat brim hats with the 14” coverage.

    Can you use the flat brim cap frame on curved brims?

    What hat hoop do you prefer?

      We find that generally the Wide Cap frame is the most versatile on the 10 needle machines, and this one Lea uses the most with her 10 needle machine. While the advanced cap frame is the most commonly used on the PRS100 and the 6 needle machines.

    Can the flat brim driver be used for regular caps also?

    • @mysewingroomdotca
      @mysewingroomdotca  2 роки тому +1

      The flat brim hat cap can be used for some regular caps as along as they have very structured fronts. The frame does not support soft front hats enough to be successful.

      That makes sense. I had no luck when I tried a regular hat from Walmart!

    I noticed you switched cap frames in the embroidery. Why?

    • @mysewingroomdotca

      In this video we changed the cap frames to show how the different styles of hats can best be managed while embroidering. You may find that you will prefer one frame over the other because it may suit more of your needs.

    Thank you for this video! I have the PR1055X as well. Is it possible on this particular machine to embroider close to the brim? That seems to be the current trend. I need to embroider bottom corners close to the brim. Thank you.

      the Flat Brim Cap frame will allow users to stitch slightly close to the brim. However the distance will still be about 3/4". Sometimes commercially made hats are embroidered before being sewn together which allows for the extremely close proximity to the brim. Once the hat is made the sweat band and brim limit how close any machine can stitch

      @@mysewingroomdotca i have the wide brim frame - is there any trick to get it closer to the brim? right now I can only get 1 1/8" from brim

    • @mysewingroomdotca
      @mysewingroomdotca  5 місяців тому

      @@jenniferangerame7166 The only way to get the hat closer to the brim is to tilt the hat towards you as you're hooping it so you can get the edge of the frame as close to the brim as possible. You'll always have a little bit of gap between the brim and the fabric itself, but that will minimize it a good bit - about 3/4"

    Why doesn’t it allow me to go bugger than 2.6 by 2.6 with this frame? I am missing a step here ?

    • @mysewingroomdotca

      Hat frames do have a maximum height of 2.6 inches, you will be able to go wider but not taller.

    Who makes that second hat hoop? The one you used to hoop the flat bill hat.

      The flat bill hat was made using the Brother Flat Brim Cap Frame. You can find it on our online store!
