      I used a calorie calculator and it says my calories should be 3100 I'm a male, 33, 5'8, 181lbs I want to get rid of my muffin top and some fat around my chest to go into a calorie deficit is consuming 2700 or 2500 calories a good ball park for me? I've been working out for Over a year now but the nutrition side always messes me up I hate meal prepping so I'm just making my food on that day can you please help?

      The key to the calorie deficit is avoiding severe hunger and consistency. I would start off with just -10% so around 2800 is fine. You can always decrease more later.

    Your vids are SO HELPFUL! I'd LOVE to know your thoughts on intermittent fasting! Also protein shakes to supplement protein intake and if certain supplements/vitamins are helpful in weightloss or where we can find FACTUAL info on these things. I'm a T2 diabetic and my goal is to manage my disease through diet & exercise. Thanks for all the information you share!!!
    Lastly- that cup! Where did you find it??? It looks like it doesn't sweat! Do you have an Amazon affiliate link? Thx!

      Intermittent fasting helps with a calorie deficit and may help some with insulin resistance. But overall weight loss will help that too. I say stick to a high protein diet that you can sustain. The consistency will get you results.
      Whey protein is a whole protein source so totally fine to use and supplement.
      The cup is from my Vitamix! amzn.to/3LCDCrj

    Do you happen to take preworkout before you work out? I was told to avoid ones with caffeine but not sure what I should be looking for...

    • @drjennale
      @drjennale  2 роки тому

      I don’t take any pre workout. I do have a black coffee in the morning. And I try to eat 50g carbs before and after my workout

    You look great! But ya lost me when you said everything gets weighed. Doesn’t seem practical long term

      When we learn what volume looks like, it’s easier to portion. This is for my patients who have been spinning circles and yo-yoing with their weight forever. Two weeks is short is the grand scheme of things!

    Do you have any recommendations for exercises that overweight people can do to minimize knee pain while building muscle

    • @drjennale

      Every one will benefit from resistance training! As for cardio - swimming is best on your joints. Elliptical is probably best after that.
