    I know it's going on a year now, but with chocolate cakes I always dust my bakeware with cocoa powder. It works just as well and there's no chance of flour spoiling the look of the chocolate cake.

    Thank you so much for this wonderful recipe. I love how you explain every step and give measurements of the ingredients as you go. I halved this recipe to see if I'd figure out a way to screw this up, like i do other recipes, but these turned out perfectly. I was so happy. Now if i can perfect my buttercream. Thanks again!

    You can also add cocoa powder to make it look darker and vanilla for the eggs.
    I could not find ramekins so I used foil cups and they totally worked too.

    For this i changed the ingredients a bit (by accident) and it still came out great:
    3 medium eggs
    100g sugar
    2 and half tbspoon of flour
    100g of dark chcolate
    100g of butter
    and i didnt have any ramekins so I just filled cupcake cases up and it worked fine!

    Molten Chocolate Cake Martha Stewart
    Link to Video
    Ingredients
    4 ounces of Semi sweet chocolate (54%cocoa)
    1 stick of butter(½ inch cubes)
    2 egg yolks(RoomTemp)
    2 whole eggs(Room Temp)
    1/4 cup of sugar
    2 tsp all purpose flour, plus a bit for dusting the ramekins
    Preparation
    Oven preheated to 450 Fahrenheit, 7-8 minutes
    Cut chocolate with serrated knife
    Cut butter 1/stick into half inch cubes
    Add chocolate to double broiler and then add butter Melt together stirring occasionally until nicely blended. Once melted turn off the heat. You Do not want the chocolate to get too hot remove from heat once melted wiping the bottom of the bowl to remove any excess moisture.
    In a separate bowl beat together Eggs(2 Yolks and 2 Whole Eggs) and Sugar Whip them up on Medium speed.
    4 Oz Ramekins brushed with softened butter. Dust with flour. Then discard excess flour and give ramekin a good tap upside down to remove any excess flour (Tip I used Cocoa Powder instead of flour it works Wonderfully and tastes better than flour. )
    Once Egg mixture has almost Tripled in Volume Then Reduce the speed Slightly then slowly pour the Melted Chocolate into Egg Mixture while it still beats in the Mixer.
    Then Scrape side of bowl to evenly incorporate mixture and add 2 Teaspoons of All Purpose Flour. And Gently Stir together until incorporated.
    Put about 3 Oz of mixture into the 4 Dusted Ramekins
    Cook for about 7-8 min longer they cook less molten they will be.
    (Tip can be refrigerated while in liquid form before cooking just bring them up to room temp before cooking them)
    To Serve Remove from oven. Then using a pair of tongs covered in a paper towel secured to the tong with a pair of rubber bands, place a plate on top of the Ramekin and flip the cake out. The tongs help with the gripping of the ramekin.

    I have made this twice so far. Depending on how big ur ramekin is changes how much time u should leave it in the oven. I use a smaller ramekin (the clear glass one) and leaving it in for 8 min was perfect.
    Also I added a piece of Hershey’s milk chocolate in the center and it became even better. 10/10 recommend.
    Very easy recipe. Will be testing more things to put in the center. I’m thinking next to put either caramel or white chocolate.

      Erin S.; when he said you can make them in advance, he was talking about the batter. He said you could prepare the batter and pour it into the cups ahead of time, and simply refrigerate until you're ready to bake them

    • @erins.5420
      @erins.5420 7 років тому

      Dwight Howard and A Hassan, yes I heard him say that. I'm talking about after making them. I've had these lava cakes in restaurants before and was told that they need to be ordered with plenty of time ahead and eaten right away. They also won't sell it for take out orders. I am curious if this recipe was on the same lines as it needing to be eaten right away to enjoy the cake the way it is intended.

    • @GeorgiaAndrea

      It supposed to be like that.. Goey inside that's why it's called lava cake.

    • @cameronpriest2916
      @cameronpriest2916 6 років тому +13

      Its actually not supposed to be done that way. It should be molten because you are supposed to put a frozen chunk of ganache in the center before baking so that it melts and makes it molten.

    What about a domino's lava cake? Somehow those lava cakes are kinda crunchy and crispy with a really fudgy inside.

    • @marianneazar
      @marianneazar 2 роки тому +1

      They line it with butter and sugar. Whipped cream consistency butter, brush a thick amount onto your ramekins, and put sugar in the ramekin to cover it all. Roll and let excess fall on a plate as you so. Repeat the sugar part. This should give a crispy exterior and fishy inside. This reply is 4y late but i hope it helps someone!!

      You don't know what he did with the rest, jackass. He used the scoop so he could actually measure it. He could've saved the batter or ended up scraping the rest of it into the four afterwards.
