I discovered Nightwish two years ago. I'm 59 and grew up listening to Zeppelin, Sabbath, Deep Purple, Pink Floyd etc. But Nightwish....there's just something extra special about this band.
A bit of a bizarre coincidence, I’m 59, had never heard of nightwish until two years ago (now I can’t get enough) , and grew up listening to the same bands you mentioned. We related? Lol

For me, the formula was the against the mainstream, Symph and progparts end of 90`s, where the whole World did grunge and Celine Dion( shes great dont get me wrong plz) And Backstreetbabies ruled. We are still hardcore Niche, even if 80k come to an Festival, the Mass Radio and Music Listener and Buyer will never really get to NW. See, what Places they Play in America.max 2 or 3k mostly often only counting some 100`s in Place when im am not wrong. Always got to remember this to myself, when i see ppl mention "never heard or seen it" , that we all got ourn bubbles wherever we resident.
The last minute of Everdream, with the double bass drum and music intensity, is like a runaway steam train with Floor as the conductor and the guys stoking that boiler 💥💥💥💥💥💥💥
Here in little Finland, Nightwish is our national treasure, which has been followed nationwide with television, documentaries and radio plays for decades now. Everyone here at least knows Nightwish. Even then, years ago, we wondered what it would be like to fall out of the "Nightwish void" at their gig for example?...Trust me, we'll enjoy this as much as you!, Welcome to the Army!

I grew up in the classic rock era 60-70-80s, I stumbled upon Nightwish and Floor Jansen in 2015, with Ghost Love Score live in Wacken 2013, they nurtured my musical soul, got me hooked and have since become my all time favorite band and lead singer. You’ll find that every song is different and the next one you hear becomes your favorite, there catalogue is impressive and vast and their live performances are second to none. All band members are masters, truly one of a kind band, and Floor…..well just incredibly amazing, and her stage presence so magnetic🤟🤟✌️✌️🇨🇦

I first became aware of NW about 3 years ago, and remain continually amazed at just how good they are. Their songs are written, composed and preformed to perfection, and I'm vicariously enjoying all my 'first' times again through you.😁
As a fifty year old rocker from a small town in Southern Ohio very glad to see your appreciation of this band. I've played guitar in bands for 35 years on and off. I found them in 2018 when I was stuck in bed with a broken leg. The Wakken show is awesome, But so is the one in Buenos Aries in 2018. Awesome songs and 90% different songs from Wakken. You Definitely need to check it out. Marco sings/plays a double neck bass/ guitar on three or four songs in that show. He is actually a great guitar player also. My recommendation would be Elvin Jig /Elven Path.
Have you checked out Marco's original band Tarot? Founded 1982 and was legendary band in Finland playing heavy rock. Marco's brother played guitar in that band.

Marko uses Warwick basses exclusively in this show he used a Warwick "Buzzard". In the mexico show you watched I think he was using the Warwick "Vampire". The double neck that he uses is a custom Warwick that he calls The Beast, it has a 4 string bass on top and a 6 sting acoustic sounding guitar on the bottom.
Yep, he used the Warwick Buzzard for Wacken 2013. Then he used the Vampire in the Wembley and Tampere shows, along with The Beast, which is a hybrid Warwick Infinity and Framus Panthera six-string guitar with... I think Pazio pickups for the acoustic sound on the guitar half? I'm no musician, so I'm trying to remember what Tank and a few other guitar gear people said about it. Going back in time, Marko used the Warwick Infinity in the End of an Era show. He also used the Infinity in Tarot's Undead Indeed dvd, should you choose to branch off into Tarot at some point. Old rock and roller here found these people about a year ago I had stopped listening to new music along time ago when they came out with things like auto tune grew up going to live concerts have seen the best and it went to crap, I found these people accidentally clicked on it not meaning to they are each individually great and together they are the best they leave their ego at the door I have found others good bands outside the USA that are really good Finland is considered the metal capital of the world but bands in that area also good had never heard of symphonic metal till nightwish welcome to their world new subscriber because you remind me of me when I found them the look on your faces God bless

Now that the drummer has showed up, you might want to check out Weak Fantasy or Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean from 2 different concerts, just to see how they change up the scenery/effects. He might appreciate it.
For a bit of Floor and Marko, just wait until you get to "Ghost River" or "Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean"; not to mention "The Poet and the Pendulum" or "The Greatest Show on Earth"! For those last two you should wait a while. Most feel that a little preparatory is best before listening to them, and I agree. To see Marko and his double bass/guitar try "The Islander".

She has one of the best voices out there today! Very versatile, blows away 99% of all other vocalist in the mainstream in the world. She’s huge in Europe but here not spoken of, I want to change that put all the “good” singers trying to shame here in the good USA.

I'm a 56 year old Metalhead from the UK and I discovered Nightwish about 4 years ago - totally blew me away, bought everything they've put out and would say they're probably my favourite band now. Fantastic reaction (love ya) On this night at the Wacken Open Air festival they were the headliner in front of 82 K and Floor had only been with the band for 10 months and all the song sung here were wrote by Tuomas for the 1st two singers. they recorded there 1st album with floor in 2014 and released it in 2015

I concur! Although that's one song that I always tell people to watch all the lives for the fun of it. Buenos Aires has the crazy energetic crowd, Wacken has Emppu's infamous prank on Floor, and there's a good-quality fan-cam from Helsinki where Floor tries to get Emppu to dance with her at the start, and chases him right offstage! Then he spends the whole song playing keep-away from the Dancing Floor-Monster, making scaredy-faces whenever she got too close. It's adorable, watching their interactions. I notice these days he does a little bit of a dance-ish move before stepping back and giving her room to move - and I vaguely remember one of the festival livestreams, Floor joking that it's taken ten years to get him to do that, so maybe in another ten years he'll finally dance with her!
You're such a nice bunch of people. Really nice to spend time with you listening to music. I really like how your drummer embraces the lovely Muppets tradition, in case I'm not wrong. In Finland I also grew up watching, among else, The Muppets. Loved all those characters, I still do. The Animal was always such a dedicated dude. Keep up the good work.

This was the first Nightwish song I ever heard (used as the music of a fan video for the scifi show Babylon 5 compilation). the Wacken Festival is a 3 day affair; it's a former airfield outside of Hamburg, Germany......the audience at this filming was 82,000......Marko is playing a Warwick "Buzzard" bass, designed by the late John Entwistle, who played bass for the Who, playing like it was lead guitar.....I've seen used Buzzards for sale online for $6,500.....he plays the double neck on the song "Weak Fantasy" from the Tampere 2015 video

Just loving you guys and your reactions to this great band playing live in front of 82,000 people at Wacken 2013. They have so many great live performances such as Tampere 2015, Wembley 2015, Buenos Aires 2018, Hellfest 2022, and Deichbrand 2022. My wife and I got to see them live at the Warfield Theatre in San Francisco on May 18th and the show they put on was incredible. Thanks for these continuing Nightwish live reactions.
Emppu has said that he is already too old to show off. He can shred on his quitar when he wants to, but I think he prefers to play exactly the way the song needs to be played. Just as Tuomas has intended.

Now that the drummer has showed up, you might want to check out Weak Fantasy or Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean from 2 different concerts, just to see how they change up the scenery/effects. He might appreciate it.
For a bit of Floor and Marko, just wait until you get to "Ghost River" or "Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean"; not to mention "The Poet and the Pendulum" or "The Greatest Show on Earth"! For those last two you should wait a while. Most feel that a little preparatory is best before listening to them, and I agree. To see Marko and his double bass/guitar try "The Islander".

She has one of the best voices out there today! Very versatile, blows away 99% of all other vocalist in the mainstream in the world. She’s huge in Europe but here not spoken of, I want to change that put all the “good” singers trying to shame here in the good USA.

Fantastic reaction (love ya) On this night at the Wacken Open Air festival they were the headliner in front of 82 K and Floor had only been with the band for 10 months and all the song sung here were wrote by Tuomas for the 1st two singers. they recorded there 1st album with floor in 2014 and released it in 2015

Marco did not use the double neck guitar in the Wacken 2013 concert. He used it in the in Wemley 2015 and Tampere 2015 concerts.

Although that's one song that I always tell people to watch all the lives for the fun of it. Buenos Aires has the crazy energetic crowd, Wacken has Emppu's infamous prank on Floor, and there's a good-quality fan-cam from Helsinki where Floor tries to get Emppu to dance with her at the start, and chases him right offstage! Then he spends the whole song playing keep-away from the Dancing Floor-Monster, making scaredy-faces whenever she got too close. It's adorable, watching their interactions.
I notice these days he does a little bit of a dance-ish move before stepping back and giving her room to move - and I vaguely remember one of the festival livestreams, Floor joking that it's taken ten years to get him to do that, so maybe in another ten years he'll finally dance with her!
You're such a nice bunch of people. Really nice to spend time with you listening to music. I really like how your drummer embraces the lovely Muppets tradition, in case I'm not wrong. In Finland I also grew up watching, among else, The Muppets. Loved all those characters, I still do. The Animal was always such a dedicated dude. Keep up the good work.

This was the first Nightwish song I ever heard (used as the music of a fan video for the scifi show Babylon 5 compilation). The lyrics really got to me and hit something deep as they seemed to reflect my love for my wife. Looking forward to more reactions and more of our music. Keep rocking🤘🤘🤘

the Wacken Festival is a 3 day affair; it's a former airfield outside of Hamburg, Germany......the audience at this filming was 82,000......Marko is playing a Warwick "Buzzard" bass, designed by the late John Entwistle, who played bass for the Who, playing like it was lead guitar.....I've seen used Buzzards for sale online for $6,500.....he plays the double neck on the song "Weak Fantasy" from the Tampere 2015 video

Just loving you guys and your reactions to this great band playing live in front of 82,000 people at Wacken 2013. They have so many great live performances such as Tampere 2015, Wembley 2015, Buenos Aires 2018, Hellfest 2022, and Deichbrand 2022. My wife and I got to see them live at the Warfield Theatre in San Francisco on May 18th and the show they put on was incredible. Thanks for these continuing Nightwish live reactions.
Marco is playing the double-necked bass in a song called "Dead Boys Poem". You'll see...
Emppu has said that he is already too old to show off. He can shred on his quitar when he wants to, but I think he prefers to play exactly the way the song needs to be played. Just as Tuomas has intended.
