  • Learn how to replace the pistons and rebuild the engine from a vintage Honda CB200, CL200, CB175, CL175, and SL175. This video is the in-depth HOW TO version, if you want to watch the much more entertaining THEATRICAL CUT version, follow this link: • Vintage motorcycle eng...
What happened to this engine? I was trying to ride it ~100 miles roundtrip to a motorcycle show in Kansas City, but I had not tuned the engine in a few years. I only got about 20 miles when I started to slowly loose power, I was at full throttle but could not keep up with highway traffic. Then suddenly I lost power completely. When I finally got the bike back home, I checked compression and one cylinder had no compression at all. Clearly I needed to open up the engine and see what happened.
This is actually the 2nd time I've rebuild this engine due to a broken piston! Safe to say I'm a bit of an expert at this point (and yet I still made many many mistakes, as shown in this video).

Hey mate, this popped up at the right time - I'm just about to get neck deep in a CB200 rebuild. Thanks for sharing!

Tanks for sharing those mistakes whiteout feeling ashamed. We all make them. Nice animations. I would have changed the cam chain tensioner. The rubber wheel looks a bit chewed up.

Great stuff. I'm fascinated with stop and motion videos. How long does it take to film and edit a 1 minute S&M clip? Keep churning out videos, buddy. Cheers from Brazil.

Is it possible to redo the top end without removing the motor completely?

Was this bike running on one cylinder prompting you to investigate it?

😅is it possible to use a 175 head assembly on a cb200 engine? Or maybe use the cb200 cylinder jug and pistons on a cb 175 engine.
