Whoever scripted and directed this did an amazing job. the scene where they’re dancing and the rest of the room just disappears is incredible beautiful delightful
I have lost count of the times i have either re-watched or re-read this story. And every time I see or understand something new. This story is timeless & will continue to be so for many years to come.
I saw someone said that Pride and Prejudice was liked by women who are depressed, oldmaids and such. I laughed when I read this. I must say that women and some men I know have this book club and we read favorite quotes in the book at the end of our meeting. I am a grandmother now and I still watch this . If you have comfort food, I have my comfort movies. So why do women love it? We have different reasons. The dream of Mr. Darcy for some. Personal reason: remembering the Elizabeth in me. This is not just a romantic movie. It is also about the follies of people. If you watch it at a certain age in your life, there will be a different scene that you will understand and a different take away. I love this book and movie for many reasons. Perhaps people who misunderstand the hype does not have the capacity to understand the author. Jane Austen is a literary goddess.
I had to do this book for my 3rd year exam in secondary school. I loathed it at the time because of the language used, which was of its time. But over time, I grew to love it as I got to know the characters. The BBC production with Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle made me fall in love with it even more to the point I had to replace my school book and buy another copy. I have dipped in and out of it over the years since.
You're right as you say they have their comfort food you have your comfort movieiys just awesome. To be happy allot an hour a day to relax and see pride and prejudice 2005 .
My high school classmates and I were obsessed with this movie when we were 17. We put Mr. Bingley and Mr. Darcy all over our lockers. We loved the change of the characters and progression of their relationships.
To truly appreciate these types of movies, it’s good to have at least a basic understanding of the times of which it’s written. Jane Austin was a truly amazing writer who invites both the readers of her books and those watching movies made on them, to glimpse into the lives of people who lived under very different rules of life. The more we read or watch her stories, the more insight we gain and then are able to understand these complex and often flawed characters. I truly love everything she has written, but like most, Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth are my favorites.
For me this is just a great love story and all women deserve their own Mr Darcy. I love the restraint and the development of passions. Characters in these stories were individuals with their flaws and imperfections but oh so real and essential to the story
I love this movie. Always have...old movies about love and it's not depressing or speaks for me as being depressed. It's beautiful and they don't make them like this anymore. The innocence of pure love. Everything from the butterflies, the misunderstandings and loss of words to the moment they bring their faces together to embrace. They don't make movies like this anymore.
I bought a falafel, you came too and bought a falafel. It's unfair? I bought an iPhone. 8 years later, Cam and Paule and Eva complain the iPhone they didn't buy?! Meanwhile, they've all been talking to the same iPhone for years

At the end when they kiss and the sun shines, I thought it was brilliant.
I love this movie. Most ardently.
❤

This will ALWAYS be my favorite romantic movie it’s simply timeless and it’ll never get old for me ❤ real love right there!!
I don't know why it is a romcom. It is so sensual and beautiful. They chose all the right actors. I love this movie so much, and it makes me happy.
Not a romcom! A Classic

Donald Sutherland was incredible in this movie!!
quite possibly the most perfect romance movie ever created….
jus’sayin’
Well it is the original of the format followed in many, if not all, romantic (comedy) movies until today.😌

I wish they did make more movies like this

They don’t fall in love at the same time. Darcy falls in love first. Then he redeems himself in her eyes, and she falls in love.
I believe they fell in love from the first moment their eyes met. She blushed when he looked at her.
Perfect cast
Sigh. When I was young.and proposed to... He told me this doesn't ever have to end. I am old now, widowed 24 years, and it hasn't ended
Thank you for sharing this beautiful comment with us
You have bewitched me body and soul, and I love...I love....I love you❤❤
Questo film mi ha davvero " stregato anima e corpo" e non mi stanco mai di guardarlo. Grandi attori e un ottimo regista ❤
There's only one Mr Darcy and that's Colin Firth! The best cast too!
Omg I love this version with Keira
5:59 please add the first proposal too!! It's a really nice edit.

Mi película romántica favorita y eso que no hay ni un beso. Gracias Jane Austen, beso al Cielo!
What an posturing
I bought a falafel, you came too and bought a falafel. It's unfair?
I bought an iPhone. 8 years later, Cam and Paule and Eva complain the iPhone they didn't buy?!
Meanwhile, they've all been talking to the same iPhone for years
Amen!!
Give me some time. I'm not the most adequate in the romantic period.
Cadê a cena da chuva??????
Se avessero almeno riportato la fine del libro sul film sarebbe stato ancora più sensuale
