  • There is a simple hack or technique you can use to really get a really tight installation if you have a car that has a reclining 2rd row. You can use this technique for either forward facing or rear facing baby seats or infant bases. If you have any questions about baby seat safety, ask in the comments below.

    It can be a bear to install the rear facing toddler seat in the center of the SUV and I was wondering if you have better ways or ideas? Thank you

      The only way to safely install the seat in the centre of the SUV is to use the seatbelt. Please make sure that you engage the seat belt locking mechanism by pulling the seat belt all the way out first. Do not use the UAS clips from the passenger side and the clips from the drivers side as those UAS clips are only for the intended side.

    I have a 2019 toyota camry. Should i use the latch system or seatbelt to install graco seat base for middle rear section?

      If you have the latch system in the middle, then use the latch, but most cars/trucks do not have the latch system in the middle. You will have to use the seatbelt method (make sure you engage the locking mechanism by pulling out the seatbelt all the way out first). Please DO NOT use the latch system from the right seat and the left seat to install your seat in the middle. Having said that, most of our installations would be behind the passenger side - reason? Because would you want to take your child out from the side walk with a wide open door or on the road side with lots of on coming traffic.

      @@SherwayNissanputting your full body weight in the seat like that with your knee is no longer a recommended method for tightening. When we’re you certified and last retrained? I received my CPST certification in July and was told to not do this or recommend this anymore. As CPSTs we know that information constantly changes so it’s important to keep up with things like this. The recline and then reposition is a great technique though if you’re struggling to get that last little bit of slack all other ways as long as you are able to pull the vehicle seat back into the proper upright position.

      @@JDQuill The training a received suggested the knee as a recommended technique. Thank you for your comment though. Best wishes!

      @@SherwayNissan i understand that’s the training you received, however that is not the most up to date recommendation for a tighter install. Instead, as a fellow CPST, I’d recommend you research something called the “inside outside” method which gives better leverage for tightening w/o having to add extra force to the seat 😊

    What year pathfinder is this

    • @SherwayNissan
      @SherwayNissan  Рік тому

      That is a 2019 Pathfinder. The 2023 has a button but the seat comes up exactly the same.
