A top tether is a legal requirement for all child seats in Australia, both ISOFIX or seatbelt-secured. These must always be used and correctly adjusted.
So many incorrect info in this :/ headrest bottom should be level with ear lobes as shoulder straps need to be coming from at or above the shoulders in rear facing mode, in forward they can dip up to 2.5cm below shoulders only if the next slot is too high. Headrest should never touch the shoulders! Also adjust the headrest/straps BEFORE tightening the harness, as lowering it once tightened causes the harness to become loose, also a good idea to use a locking device for the seat belt so the seat stays super rigid in place. Gah, no wonder so many people get car seat use wrong with videos like this misinforming everyone 🤦♀️🤦♀️
Thanks for demonstrating on a prado! My next car
Thank u so helpful!!!
Very useful

Do you always have to use the top tether straps in Aus?
