Altra had to put out a second version quickly because the upper on the first version blows apart on both the medial and lateral sides after about 150 miles. This has happened to many users. You should see how bad mine look after 250 miles- my wife keeps telling me to throw them out! We're talking tears of 10cm without any reason but usage. I'd love to check these out soon if the upper seems more sturdy.

I've really been trying to find an Altra recovery shoe for the road. Most of my miles are Escalante Racer and Lone Peak 7. I just didn't enjoy the Torin 7 when I tried them on. Any suggestions?
What didn't you like about the Torin 7? Maybe the 6 is worth a try? It should have a different feel to it, although I have not been able to test the 7 yet to confirm. Another option could be the Paradigm 👍
The way I've understood Altra's philosophy of the Paradigm, is that the stability only kicks in when your feet need it. If they don't need it, then they act as neutral running shoes.
Waiting for your review! Maybe the perfect second pair of shoes to complete my top Mont Blanc for my every day trail training. The superior 5 are good but too minimalistic for my long distance run so I always take the MB...
