    Harry confirmed in his book that it was both of them who asked Charles not to marry Camilla. The show is likely portrayed the foreshadowing of William being the responsible heir and Harry's path to rebelling the system.

    • @mariahsmith6101
      @mariahsmith6101 Місяць тому +152

      Actually, if you do your research. Camilla met with both William and Harry. William was the more understanding person, unlike Harry. Yes, Harry was against his father marrying her. But William welcomed it with open arms only because she made Charles happy. But William told her that he didn't want her to be involved in any decisions in his life. She respected that. He also told her that she would have a hard time being friends with Harry due to him not liking her. So, in reality, William was the more mature and understanding sibling. Unlike Harry . I have an A.A. degree and a bachelor's degree in history. And working on my masters. For studying to be a historian, English history is my area of expertise.

      @lordalessan people have to understand even though the crown might embellish on some things. Half of the scenes you see in the crown are true. Harry had and probably still does have hatred towards Camilla. William had to be ab adult about the situation because he accepted the fact that his mom was dead and that his father wanted to move on. He is the future heir he had to show that he can handle tough situations such as this. As for the sources, I'm away from home right now, so I will have to get back to you on that. There's so many books and articles on that family.

      The thing is that Charles and Diana announced their divorce before Camilla and Andrew, Charles has always been devoted only to Camilla, but Camilla has always been devoted to Andrew, who was also devoted to her even without exclusivity in their open marriage, if there was no agreement consenting that their marriage was open, then their connection would have not lasted open for literal decades, anyway, there are many reasons why Charles is the second husband of Camilla instead of the first.

      Well, Camilla was not 'in love' with Charles, so she married another man whom she believed would be a better match for her. But later on, as her marriage was not exactly great (yes, she's cheated on her husband with Charles but Andrew Parker-Bowles' definitely a serial cheater himself), she might really fall for Charles or her affection for him developed deeper. They were more compatible and closer in age. Diana was a teenager when basically a 30 yrs old prince come-a-knocking on her door.

    Excellent scene. Eventually, Charles will marry Camilla. The marriage does far less damage to the Crown if the marriage takes places while Elizabeth sits on the throne and can bless the marriage (and take the PR hit). I kind of understand this situation and feel a little sympathetic to Charles and Camilla. At some point after Diana’s death it only makes sense to recognize the reality and try to move on with life as best you can. At this point in time they’ve been married longer than Charles and Diana had. She does obviously make him happy, and they seem well-matched. Very tragic and hard on the children, and that’s a shame. It sucks if what happened in the series is true where the boys’ true feelings are disregarded. The situation and family dynamic is far from perfect. I do think people are taken advantage of all in sacrifice to the monarchy. It’s a very tough situation no matter what happened-if they got married or not.

      Diana had mental health issues throughout her life, a public life and divorce didn't help, however she was also intelligent and manipulative as she often alerted the press as to where she would be. I think Charles and Diana did the right thing divorcing because neither loved the other from the beginning, and they were doing well coparenting. Laughing with your step mother isn't bad, whatever transpired between his parents is between them, he had nothing to do with it. As for loving a throne more than his mother, his mother is dead, of course he loves her and misses her, he's discussed that, and the impact losing her had on his own mental and emotional well being.
