I've had mine fir about 4 months with a 20 gram gold pendant and it swings left and right all day. It's held up great and looks good. Not sure why yours faded
@@whatitisnt.anything plated will fade eventually. Apparently they treat it so it lasts longer but I’d say give it a few years at most and the inside links will start to show wear. If you’re on a budget get gold filled. It’l be more expensive than plated but a lot cheaper than solid gold and last you a lifetime as long as you don’t polish a lot. It’s essentially the same as plated but with a thicker cladding.

I’m not sure why it faded but in all honesty I loved the chain! But I literally never took it off during the 2-4 month period
