I love how u say thats fast for a 250 but my rmx 50 with 70cc hits like 65 mph sooo

I built this engine. It runs best when you short shift it. It has a long rod crank so it make a lot of bottom end grunt. I also tried every jet and found this to work best. 2 strokes don't always need richer jetting when built. If they are modded correctly they become more efficient with means they need less fuel. This bike also has full airbox with lid on for trail use. Plush fun bike thanks for the compliments!

Jason what mods make it so you can run it leaner? I've always been a fan of most amount of gas I can get away with, and lots of oil to make thing happy lol do these things have an oil pump? Or premix? I hate seeing cooked motors because of Carb or oil pump issues and don't want this to be another one!
@@lukenelson2153 every engine is different. Like I said the closed airbox probably has a lot to do with it.

It starts first kick because it's a Honda, Honda is they way to go but that's just my opinion. Suzuki, Kawasaki, and Yamaha all make nice products, but Honda has never letting me down. Good luck with it, would love to have that quad

My ATC 250R was only a 5 speed, so top end was slightly slower than yours. But mine had also been bored, ported, new reeds, etc, and I could hold my own against the 500cc quads.
250cc are light and nimble, and have good power/weight ratio. And you'll love this for everyday riding, compared to the bigger machines.

I've wanted one of these quads for so long!! This one is in great shape!! It does sound like it could use some fuel at the very top end. But is really hard to tell through video sound.

I had one of these new in 1987, they would really rip. I wish I still had it today it would be worth twice what I paid for it.
Almost sounds like the clutch is slipping. It's fast but the way it sounds is like your making the power but it's not getting to the ground.

Love the videos very much only thing I would change is less over revving. But otherwise it’s your bike and you do what you want to her. I had a 200 blaster with a big bore kit. Wiseco crank and piston and long stroke rod and I spun her way over what it was supposed to for over a year and she never blew up so do what you want. You’ll be the one rebuilding it so spin it as high as you want brother
He said it needs new jets because as the air gets colder there is more oxygen in the air. So when your engine is pulling more oxygen you need more fuel. Normally go up around 5 to 10 on the main depending on the circumstances. It's running just a tad lean if anything. Better to run rich than lean

definitely needs a diff main jet when it sounds like its hitting limiter should rev a tad higher and hit power band a tiny bit harder

That’s a really good running 250r but the over revving is not good on it that will blow her up repeatedly over revving it if you know when the revs max out shift a second sooner it has enough power to pull the next gear without the over rev. That’s a really good 250r you have take care of it man.

Always wanted one of these when I found out about them.
Shift it threw all the gears while holding it wide open, don't let off the throttle to shift and that thing will rip.. Gotta love a good power shift..
Yup I remember doing that all the time in my Banshee in the dunes smoked all the 4 strokes
I was thinking the same thing , that’s why I love 2 strokes way better than 4 strokes , don’t get me wrong 4 strokes got power but it’s not like that 2 stroke power💨

It is a Honda of course it rides good and has plenty of power.

Thibg runs good! I have a 88 trx250r 220 psi, trinity ported motor, vf2s, and a toyoko mods x10 programed cdi for the 250r with 10 switchable ignition maps.
Try a three way race between the three 250rs and a chart for points or something, that would be cool having the three in the thumbnail too
Top speed doesn't mean much , it's easily adjustable with sprockets. Racing them won't prove anything unless they have the same tooth sprockets or you went complete stock against complete stock

Are you plug chopping to confirm the Jets you're swapping in and out cuz if not you're not going to get a correct reading by just looking at the spark plug you need to chop it to expose the part of the plug that you need to see and you want a ring out the bottom that's almost like a cardboard color keep up the good work you're awesome I love you videos

Actually tuning the carb is more complicated than just riding it around and checking the plug after. Do a search for “plug chop” and you can tune the idle, part throttle and full throttle much better. I’m not gonna fully explain but basically you are killing the motor while it’s in several different levels of acceleration. You use a new plug each time. You can have an engine that seems to run fine lean out in the midrange and lock up even though the plug may be brown or black. Keep up the good work.

How fast is this bike exactly? I use to own a Banshee and it was the fastest thing I ever rode. Does this bike even come close to a Banshee? I would always hole shot the Banshee in 3rd gear.

Watching this video pretty much made me sick to my guts cause after seeing the Quadzilla Engine powered Banshee get blown up on the first ride which in all honesty I can't believe it took as long as it did for any machine to be blown up but even after it just so happened to be that particular machine to be blown up it didn't change anything in my opinion based off what I see in way more episodes than not is way to much engine over rev during up shifting, continuously running lower gears up in RPM & holding like that, missing shifts, and being held at W.O.T in high gear to long, in other words a change in riding style/habits would absolutely be greatly beneficial for real, I'm just sayin 🤷🤷🤷, sorry I'm not sorry but just being 💯...

@@dunerider250 when shifting, dont let off the throttle just squeeze in clutch and shift, you will notice a huge difference in acceleration 😁

I have a 1985 Honda 250r. Only a 3 wheeler though. My step-dad worked at Honda and bought it brand new and rode it for about 20 minutes, the weekend before they were to take it out to ski-park hill he was in a car accident and never rode it again but would start it a couple times a year, told my mom it could be the grandkids toy. No way I was ever letting my children on that death trap.. When he passed a few years ago I brought it to my place to keep it stored in the heated garage. There's not a single part, literally nothing on it that isn't 100% the same from the day it was bought.
I have had it out only a time or two a year for about 10 minutes just to make sure it doesn't cease up or something. I've bought 6 quads between two sons now and none of them would ever be able to sit for a couple years and still roll, let alone for 35 years and start with a few kicks once or twice a year. Was going to finally give it to one of them last summer, but one day watching them in the back yard on quads, thought "nope!". It is awesome though to see something that was built to last in my garage. W
Never ride one myself but I've always heard they handle really great but got my gears going now I wonder how a banshee motor would do in a 250r frame ? What you guys think

let me tell ya, my RS50 with a 86cc TPR stroker does over 85 mph and is street legal. It's a soul crusher. 14-43 gearing.
Anyone can throw a big rear sprocket and do wheelies all day, but having a close ratio gearbox and a screaming 13,000 RPM motor, you can make the big boys cry even it you only have 25hp. (Nevermind the handling of a MOTO GP frame and suspension 😂)
