I had a killer system in my car also, and my brother and I would crank this album up all the time while cruising the back country roads.
It's a fantastic album. Different than Mindcrime & Empire or even Promised Land? Sure. But it's AMAZING and I love that it's stripped down and not so "80's" sounding. Another album from around the same time (couple years earlier) that falls into this category is Extreme's "Waiting for the Punchline". Amazing album that nobody gave a chance including alleged die hard fans.

I have the whole album memorized, it's phenomenal! Just now came across this video, nice intimate crowd, original line up was the best ever, great tour 97
I am listening this song now for the eighth time in a row(!) and every time I discover new, hidden gems in it. Never, since Peter Frampton and Richie Sambora, a voice box guitar sounded so good! Even with this ultra-cheap video, shot by a blind camera man and directed by a radio director, it is easily the best "new" song that I heard this whole year.
almost 20 years after this album i realize that our minds were to small to understand albums like ''Hear..'' I think every release of QR until dedicated to chaos has great quality but the metal mass is always whining when something is not they way they want it. Thank god albums like that were released and this music found gateways to renew its self and survive. The few will understand. The rest mass will continue sleeping
