SET Over SET Turns Into QUADS!!! [Record-Breaking Pot]

- This truly is the stuff of poker nightmares. What starts as a dream, flopping a set in a huge pot, quickly goes off the rails. At the time this hand went down, it was the largest pot in history at The Lodge. Let's break it down
Thanks for the analysis Doug! I definitely regretted my river lead. I was trying to induce a raise and made myself lose an extra 50k instead 🤦🏻♂️
That’s a cooler !!
Calling Dylan's massive raise with the 7th-nuts was a bigger mistake than leading.
@@sinatra222 now that you put it that way I can’t argue! 🫡
If Dylan is incapable of bluffing huge there then yes. Otherwise maybe not.
@@sinatra222 what nitty games you playing in?
Odd that doug never mentioned that a straight flush gets there on the river. he can definitely have 89s here. he can also potentially turn some hands that have either the 8d or 9d into bluffs.
Let's be real, Dylan has almost no bluffs. It would have to be the rare combos of T9o or T8o with the diamonds, so like 4 combos. So impossible from +1 in a full ring game.
@@squallloky what about 8d8x or 9d9x??
Doug is not wanting to explain too much of what was happening on the board. Keep it simple and what is believed to be perceived hands, based on betting. Though om a very rare occassion
a str, drawing to str flush should have been considered
How can he have 89 after a 3 bet pre-flop call knowing he’s out of position post flop
Yea i think Same
I'm guessing someone else may have commented before me, that quad 10s was the 2nd nuts - as unlikely it may have been for EZ to be holding 8-9 Diamonds in this hand.. the Jack-high straight flush is still the top hand possible with this run out
In reality it is impossible that either one of them could have 98d. The explanation will appear in another video to come up soon.
@@tommyrjensen lol. very likely that dylan has 89dd. also not too unlikely for ez to have it
Hearing Doug talk while seeing him in the clip feels so unusual...
10:00 8/9Diamonds “AM I A JOKE TO YOU??”
2:50 Really like how the commentators can't contain their excitement on the set over set flop 😂😂
11:43 How can your opponent have pocket sevens when you’re the one holding the only combo? 🤣 👏
Doug Polk is the greatest of all time. Matt Berkey would have snap folded the 7-7 full house 😂😂😂
As would many of us thinking poker players, saving 96,000 in the process.
If he would have snapped folded; would that not be a hero fold and actually show he has skill?
Because I would have snapped called and lost that damn money.

Live tell: the hand shaking uncontrollably at 8:55. Dude had a MONSTER!
THIS VIDEO SHOULD BE NAMED: HOW TO STRETCH OUT A 3 MINUTE VIDEO TO 13 MINS WITH OVER COMMENTARY
Could also have 89d too. #13:37 length tho. Elite content.
You might have to spot your boy Brad some cash for that meet up game with the way he’s been running.
Dj Khalid enters the chat: “Another one”
Been keeping my UA-cam feed fresh! Appreciate the content
This was the first time the commentators had ever seen a set over set
You'd think that it has never happened with the way that they acted!
they're commentators
football commentators get excited over touchdowns & they've seen thousands of those
Set over set on the flop which usually means a lot of money going in. Fair reaction in my book
Hey Doug, for your tournament, where is a nice hotel to stay at near the lodge poker room, and which is the closest and best airport to fly into?
correction.. he did not had the nuts.. he had the second nuts :)
Correction: He did not HAVE* the nuts. Not HAD*
Sometimes when people say “the nuts” they’re talking about the effective nuts, otherwise known as, the best hand at showdown.
Whenever people in vlogs are talking about the nuts, they’re talking about on that specific board. Quad 10s is the best possible hand with that board and is the nuts
@chrisoooo the 8 and 9 of diamonds would be the nuts on that board.
He means the effective nuts
@@chrisooooo 8-9 of diamonds
Does an underfull actually get in here this deep on river? I mean isn't this a 50-100-100 game? Even if we consider it a 100-200 game it's around a 500bb river jam. Am I crazy for thinking this is a pretty big overplay
Not at all, it's honestly a fold pretty easily
Doug I literally saw you wearing that sweatshirt on the live stream the other day that is so epic
One thing iv'e noticed watching this vid is that you never stop talking. Ever.
Hey Doug, you mentioned the actions of solvers during the hand multiple times. Which were all great except for Ezs last decision. What did the solvers tend to do at the end?
BEST looking on-line poker room out of everyone!
8-9 of Diamonds is the nuts
Good job 👏
Thanks Steven for pointing that out
When did you turn pro?
@@jasonnicholas263 no reason to be nasty. He is correct. No?
True
Doug is really pumping them out! Couldn’t be more stoked! ❤️
Could be losing to JT. 77s are really only beating 44 here and would he be shoving with that or AQd? Probably not. Impossible to fold at lower stakes tho
Have to say, so many of these hands just come down to pre-flop. EP raise and a BU 3bet. I imagine preflop ranges this deep would just recommend folding 77 to avoid this exact situation.
do you have partnerships with the surrounding hotels or discounts?
played for 3 hours. started with $200 and had $900. it all came crashing when a guy flopped quads and I rivered a full house. His quads was 10 as well. I will never forget that. I was along ride home.
Dylan’s chest is pumping. What a tell!
I wouldn’t call it a tell…a lot of players start breathing deeply when playing a big pot
When you're adrenaline is high during a bluff attempt your heart doesn't pump? Your heart only pumps when betting for value?
I saw a hand once, where the deck had 2 queens of clubs! 😂😂😂
Got dealt suited 5's once. It was at a $20 bar game, had it been in an official high stakes tournament I'd be pissed off.
@@BrettMKW Nice! That had to make things interesting! I was actually referring to a hand that Doug played.
dylan has 0 bluffs in that spot, ez fold with 77
At 10:15, Doug says Dylan has the nuts. He does not. 89dd is the nuts.
Is Brad Doug's brother?
Link is not in the description. Is this a running joke I'm not aware of? His links are never in the description when he says they will be.
Whenever is see someone reraise almost all in, when the should have just gone all in, I immediately think they are trying to level me into thinking they are weak and wanted insurance chips in case they lose… but they are usually strong. It would be tough to toss the full house but j10 is there, 10’s, jj, and he wouldn’t do this with a flush, so just misses and I think given the stack to bet ratio, along with the bet size and the few value hands, I could lay it down… a jam I’d be more likely to call along with a slightly smaller bet
In very deep stacked games, I will avoid playing raised pots with 22-55. Since set over set is typically a situation where the lower set loses their entire stack, you can tip the balance in your favor quite a bit by just preflop folding the lowest pairs if your opponents play any pair.
Your a nit stick to 50c games pal😂
I stronly appriciate the 13:37 video lenght! Leet content!
You said when betting with the nuts, but 8,9 diamonds was the nuts...not the 4 of a kind.
Sit around and wait to set over set other regs. The bellagio reg special
Its maddening watching someone check behind on flop with top pair only to blast away on river.
"you just have to always call"......polk stop sniffing glue
Who’s the dealer bro 😍😍
Good hydration advice
Thought Phil Gordon was the commentator there for a minute lol. Oh my gosh 🤣
I think Any T is also a good bluff raise, cause it blocks JT
I like how the length of the video is 13:37
11:38 _”Realistically I think he could definitely have J10suited, and he can definitely have pocket 7s. It’s just hard to imagine many more hands he could have for value here.”_
Can someone please explain this thinking to me? The guy knows what his own hand is. Why does “what he [himself] could have” factor into the call/fold on river analysis? Thanks.
Dylan actually doesn't have the nuts. 89 D makes a straight flush, and that's certainly a possible hand one of them could have based on how the action went... surprised Doug missed it.
Pocket aces and Ace 10 is some bluffs also
I don’t think Dylan ever raises turn with AdJ. If you’re playing the J4 game then J4 would be a cool bluff here. Other than that kinda hard to find some… maybe 45 unblocking the weaker end of ez value range like flushes or straights would be cool too.
DBO, finally on the right side of a cooler.
11:35 think you meant Dylan can definitely have pocket 10’s being that Ez has pockets 7’s
Forever Poker 👍
Is EZ Andrew Nemee stunt double ?
These bad beats are so crazy but not every video needs to be a crazy hand. it would be nice to see a semi-regular way to play hands - e.g. broadway and you miss. Middle pockets and flop has a picture card.
Or a berky feud vid.
The graphics at lodge love stream need to be bigger. Hard to see when watching on the phones
That is so strong on the river but he set himself up to get bluff raised with that small bet
You missed that he could have had 8,9 of diamonds! He would’ve played the same way on the flop and to the River.
98dd is the absolute nuts here.
Is that Dylan gang from hustler Doug?
Dylan doesn't have the nuts.
Dylan, during the stream, said he raised to 96k because it’s 69 backwards.
classic 13:37 length from Doug
I don't understand the last hand, you are saying you should not go for 96 000 cause its a strange bet size? But clearly he checked how much EZ had left and put him almost all in, he bet 96,000 of his total 103 000 stack, thats 93%, 100% should be more reasonable, but guess he didn't ask for the count?
89dd is the nuts btw. I dont know if anyone noticed.
Is AdJ even in range? This hand should be folded preflop facing 3B and cold call.
I’ll be in the poker hospital for months after that
Hozier took him to church.
Dude wasn’t convinced
I don´t think you can call on the river here. Big raise and you lose to 89d, TT,JJ,JT (and the random T4 and T7)
You just don´t see enough river bluff reraises to make this a call, especially with the turn action that indicates a nutted hand that can´t be 89s any longer unless it´s the 89d.
How does Greg Potter always see && call the sickest hands??
10:53 umm, you see solvers make plays like this? ~185% pot raise when 200% pot is all in? crazy sizing. I think you're confused here Doug and you're thinking of spots where solvers don't go all in but bet huge, i.e. libratus spot where it bets 200% pot instead of jam for 220% pot with 88.
Easy for me to say, but when Dylan raises $96K, isn’t this screaming JT, JJ, or TT?
8,9 of diamonds would've been the nuts ;)
08:55 id be shaking like this too but i wonder if other guy even saw it.
He wasn't shaking at all. God live players are a joke.
@@jamesevans2507 Are you saying he literally wasn't shaking or he was pretending to shake?
@@UnderPressure21 former, obviously
I saw it. At the time I convinced myself that bluffing 100k can get someone that nervous too. In hindsight it’s always the nuts 🤦🏻♂️
@@jamesevans2507 You must be blind. His hand was obviously shaking quite violently.
The river raise amount is hideous. Should have went with 29k.
10:10 He does not have the nuts tho
that boy was shakin like a leaf
I hate to say this, but...
Does anyone think that the dealer stacks the deck?
For whatever reason
Is Joe Ingram on the comment booth?
8-9 dimond is the nuts
not the nuts, 8 9 diamonds is nuts
It would have been even *more* interesting if the river was the seven of spades...
Lol i love how much time you spend on your business partners nitty flop check as pf aggressor, or should i say nitty partner. He is a massive abc nit and even in these soft games doesnt really have an edge. But carry on
The Nuts Doug? What about 8d9d? Lol
77 is a checkcall on this river or bet 2/3 pot sth like 30k then fold to a shove. If you bet 1/5 the pot all the bluffs and value still raise you so you literally get no info and will end up calling the raise anyway which in this case you lose very big. River donk is just stupid.
Be easy on EZ… 😮
10:01 *second nuts
89 of diamonds is the nuts
You need to upgrade your video capture... it looks pretty bad (480P?).
1080 in advanced setting
UA-cam loads videos in order of render, so lower resolutions are available first. Higher resolutions will load later.
Also the raiser can have 98 of diamonds.
I would rather watch the hands play out completely them to hear commentary. Please keep it short next time.
Could Dylan not have A10 of diamonds?
Man thank God Brad got to fold
I wanted you to do that, but that's a lot.
Apparently the commentators have NEVER……EVER…….seen set, over, SET!
😂
Dylan didn’t have the nuts, btw.
Video length 13:37 neat
I thought the nuts meant best possible hand. I swear a lot of ppl say “I got the nuts” and there’s better possible hands out there.
Now about the pocket 7’s
He loses to: 10 4, 10 7, J10, Js, 10s, 89♦️. Idk the paired board would’ve worried me I probably would’ve went in the tank longer to analyze. He could easily have 10 7 or J10.
it is a UTG raise and 3bet pot. 10 4 and 10 7 are not in his range. also, JT, there are only 2 combos left for JTs (hearts and spades) since again: utg raise call 3bet....he will not have JTo there.
He can't have T7 or T4 by opening +1 and calling a 3b oop after a cold call.
You guys that comment say he can’t have this or that. Wtf would you put someone on if they 10x raise you on the river? You think he would be dumb enough to raise if had a flush with a paired board? You guys must be poker pros. I had a similar hand but instead TT it was KK. I didn’t bet the river he bet like 10% of my stack and I called any higher and I would fold.
@@Alpha72989 Overfold as much as you want, you still have to be accurate when you evaluate ranges.
@@squallloky over fold? I just told you I called in my situation. You didn’t answer my question? What would you put Dylan on if you were in EZ shoes?
I know its easy when youre looking at the cards, but I really think its possible to get away here. Not on a stream, it would mark you a nit and would hurt your career. But in a normal game I think you can muck here and act like you were just bluffing.
Hey Doug, dont just use us because you need publicity for your stream and your card room. Please continue doing these videos regardless.
He’s a business man at the end of the day just enjoy em while they last
