Well, that was not an elegant stumble, and I'm so glad you didn't injure yourself. As active hikers, we all fall, slip, and slide. It's actually good experience if we learn from it. It makes us more aware of our surroundings and teaches us how to be more cautious. Great job on the roll, Dee.😂

I moved from Texas to Tennessee about 30 years ago and I love the state parks here. If you get a chance next time you are in Tennessee, check out Rock Island State park. The hiking and falls are incredible!

I just bought a van about three weeks ago. I have not gone out in it yet. So I am Raring to go. I think I’m gonna name my van “ van tastic rose.” Fear😂 is holding me back a little bit. I am a 76 year old woman widowed four years ago. I am learning to live alone. I want it to be an adventurous side of life very different, but it can still be an exciting time in life. I slept in my driveway the other night in a rain storm, thunder and lightning. It was quite exciting and exhilarating. I could just go in the house if it got to rough for me, but I stuck it out and actually slept quite well. So when you get back into the western part of the country, and you would like an old Lady to hangout with I’m in . I can’t do. the big hikes, but I can do what I can do and come back to my van and wait till you get back or the others who ever. Who knows I may sell my house and just live in my van. I sold my big house went down to a tiny house 600 ft.² I guess that’s not considered tiny but small and may just try van life next. See you down the road and maybe you see one of my falls and can laugh at me. LOL

I'm glad you didn't hurt anything. It didn't look fun at all. When I was in my late 20s I was a student at IU and went out with some friends for the weekend. We went to a bar called the upstairs pub and it is upstairs. Lol when we were leaving I fell at the top of the stairs and bounced all the way down on my bum. I couldn't sit comfortably for a couple of months and my lower back suffers from it now that I'm older. It was awful but it was funny. I got home maybe an hour ago from installing the floor in my van. Well, it's close anyway, the battery ran down twice so I couldn't finish the 3 small cuts I needed to make it fit correctly but it won't take long once the jigsaw charges. Hehehe it is so hot and humid here in Indiana today but I started about 7 to beat some of the heat. I got the reflectix with a foam core insulation down then the foam board insulation and that went well. I laid the old carpet in the plywood to trace it and cut it but it wasn't perfect so some trimming needs to be done so it fits but so close. 😊😊😊😊😊 I will finish it this evening when cooler. Happy trails!
Guess I’ll have to be careful when I visit Cummins State Park as am waiting for second knee replacement. Been off the road for 6 months now and going stir crazy. At nearly 75 I am thinking about going towards the south east coast on my next trip in RockzVanA. Bought a home base in Missouri as I started falling. No fun! Glad you weren’t hurt but you all are young and still bounce and roll!
Hi Dee - just been boondocking in UT. Also took a spill. Hiking along a river bank, slipped and took a nose dive in the river. Glad for a tarp in the van to keep the seat dry. Guess I’ll have to be careful when I visit Cummins State Park as am waiting for second knee replacement. Been off the road for 6 months now and going stir crazy. At nearly 75 I am thinking about going towards the south east coast on my next trip in RockzVanA. Bought a home base in Missouri as I started falling. No fun! Glad you weren’t hurt but you all are young and still bounce and roll!

Hi Dee - just been boondocking in UT. Also took a spill. Hiking along a river bank, slipped and took a nose dive in the river. Glad for a tarp in the van to keep the seat dry. Your Park visit looks great with nice friends. Big van meet last week in July in Evergreen, CO. Will you be there? If so, look for my blue FTC. Happy Trails! 😊

When off road now I carry thumb-stick
It definitely adds safety
It may seem a bit long by comparison with walking sticks /poles but for going up and down steep slopes cannot be beaten
And on the flat, it is really good when those stones jump up under your foot or a tree route suddenly entangles you
