This is so weird, wolf always struck me is a hired muscle type, he's even been allies with fox in the past, he's never really been a world domination kind of guy.
Well, I also would rather think if there's another boss and Star Wolf are helping the boss, not making Wolf the boss, He's mercenary. But yeah, It seems Ubisoft has some reason to not put this small important thing in Star Fox universe in the game.
Galaxy The Gamer Ironicly, Wolf‘s down b in Ultimate can be used for comboing and killing. I think it even deals more damage and knockback than Fox‘s when used that way.
Star Fox saved this game. Ironically, it ended up being the BEST "new" Star Fox game ever. Completely new content, planets, enemies, weapons, everything. Even when doing the final main campaign mission had that Planet Venom vibes with that tunnel and smack talking.
Seeing that Fox and his team are in their zero design suggests that the events of Starlink takes place after the events of Star Fox Zero. The fact that they mentioned Andross 'not paying Wolf's bills' due to Fox destroying him adds to where the events of Starlink take place from a Star Fox perspective.
Everything about Wolf and Fox is perfect in this game. The animation style and quality, the voice acting.. THEY FINALLY UNDERSTAND HOW IMPORTANT GOOD VOICE ACTING IS! It was one of the things I loved most about SF64
That's kinda my problem with this. Star Wolf and his crew are shown time and again to not be evil, just in it for the the fame and glory, which is something they'll do anything to get whether it it be good or bad.
One thing I always appreciate from these games is the voice acting. They all maintain the same charming cheesiness since Starfox 64. Man, even the "voices" in the SNES games were charming and distinct from each other.
I hate the cheesiness. I can’t take the game seriously when the voices sound like they belong in a power rangers episode. It could have been such a better game if the voice acting wasn’t so fucking goofy

Its weird to see humans work together with andromorphic animals. Although it makes sense for Star Fox and Star Link to go together, given the good relations between Ubisoft and Nintendo recently with both games being space combat.

Agreed - this definitely feels like it's in the 64->Adventure->Assault timeline rather than in the Zero reboot, due to both Wolf's design, the choice of voice actors, and just the simple fact that 64 is the only game I can think of where Fox uses "Rock and Roll" as... kind of a call to action to the team.
Is the timeline even relevant in this series? Everything just kinda feels like it's trying to take place after starfox 64 or the snes starfox. It feels like storywise everything besides those games is rebooted

The game does have some pretty cool elements in it, like seeing Star Wolf as the villain and being able to return to space simply by leaving the atmosphere. Andross really should have been buried after Assault.

Wish Nintendo would stop pretending like Krystal doesn't exist and simply make an open-world Star Fox game where we could create our own characters to either work with Star Fox, Star Wolf, the Cornerian Army, the Venomian Army, or we could go independent with campaigns to go with each choice and side missions that we can do to make extra money on the side. Also, they need to not make Wolf into a crazy dictator and just keep him as a ruthless mercenary simply trying to make his way in the universe as we saw with Star Fox Assault.
Many people give bad opinion about star fox assault, but I have to say that the best star wolf team and character development for them is always found in star fox assault
