I usually prefer the heroes, but villain characters are so interesting and Star Wolf is no exception. I remember playing Fortuna for the first time as a kid and being star-struck at Wolf, then twice over at Leon. Star Wolf is legit. All four of the original team has great VA in SFZ.
Correction. Star Wolf aren't villains, they are direct rivals of Star Fox. Both squadrons are mercenaries for hire, but Star Fox was hired by General Pepper and Star Wolf by Andross, setting both as enemies, but they are willing to fight together if the situation requires it.

Star Fox 64’s voice acting was literally perfect for the tone and atmosphere of the game, which makes every future installment unable to live up to it. Nostalgia eclipses new Star Fox games because the fans have such high expectations for the series and rightfully so. It’s a great IP from Nintendo and deserves so much better than it has gotten.
Star Fox 64 was, in a lot of ways, a text book example of good game design. Every level was unique and engaging, the characters were entertaining and memorable without burdening the player with a stupid, needlessly heavy plot, it had replay value in terms of finding secret paths so there were different ways to beat the game, the game had a difficulty curve that suited everyone whether its beginners just trying to beat the game or veterans trying to get all of the medals, etc.
I imagine fox like: Boom! there goes pigma! did i do a barrel roll? no! did i kill him? YES!, and there goes leon! did had his shield analyzed? no! did i kill him? YES!, and there goes wolf and andrew, did i need an annoying bird on my ass telling me stuff? I always liked to think that when you shoot down the star wolf team on fortuna they suffer horrific injuries and that's why they have cyber implants when you fight them again on venom

Supposedly the Wolfen II, Star Wolf's new ships, require the pilot to be cybernetically modified to be able to control them, seeing as they are elite ships even more powerful than the Arwing, according to Star Fox lore.
I don't know about anyone else, but I feel like your team in Zero actually 'does' shit (or at least appears to do so) in fights like this. Makes it feel all the more like an actual dog fight rather than SF64 where its basically you constantly having to bail everyone out.

+Tyler Falcon (Mariotron) yeah but it rejects the on foot battles, you know. Being able to hop in and out of the landmaster just to I can blast enemies in areas where vehicles cannot traverse in the returning the landmaster to wreck stuff as I travel the the next destination of the mission. Stuff like that was cool in assault.
MonsterHunterRobbie Assault had good ideas but the missions could have been a bit better. But if you want a game where you can switch between vehicle and on-foot, I highly recommend Transformers : War Cybertron and it's sequel. Don't let the fact that it's a licensed title fool you, High Moon studios really went all out on it.
A game about the original four would be awesome too! For all of them (Except Pigma and possibly Wolf), we ignore since when they’re enemies with Fox’s friends. A game about it would be cool!

I'm genuinely shocked that it never happened, especially after Starfox 64 when Star Wolf's team was a smash hit with players but also because there is so much story potential with each of them & overall. Hmm.

I miss the characterization and development from Star Fox Assault. Wolf had the best design there and real character development. Wolf constantly calling Fox 'pup', for example, or Fox saying 'Wolf...' showing that he cares for him.
What's wild to me is how often people don't recognize that. Wolf has known Fox since he was a kid, to Fox he was probably the cool uncle. Professionally they hate each other, but only professionally.
They might be archenemies, but they respect each other. Only those who have Wolf's permission and/or are in Andross' army can hurt Fox. Otherwise, Wolf will "kindly" protect Fox.

I don't see much of an issue of Wolf's voice in Assault, if anything, I think it's an improvement on the 64 version. It sounds more, well, him. The change with Leon's is the only proper problem I'm seeing
Goodeve does a great Wolf O'donnell. As for Leon, his tone of voice had to change because Panther is basically a replacement for Pigma and the "calculated and stoic" type of member in the team.
I would really want to see a sort of prequel game starring Wolf. Maybe we get to learn his backstory, and how he grows into the villain/anti hero he is known for.

Leon got the Harvey Dent treatment, Pigma's skull caved in, and Andrew lost his EYES. Wolf seems to be mostly okay, just a couple LEDs, but the rest of them genuinely look like they've survived a plane crash.

You'd be surprised how much they actually help in SF64. Not against Bosses but they steal your missile hits & enemy hits at Sector Z and Bolse.

Being able to hop in and out of the landmaster just to I can blast enemies in areas where vehicles cannot traverse in the returning the landmaster to wreck stuff as I travel the the next destination of the mission. Stuff like that was cool in assault.

Assault had good ideas but the missions could have been a bit better.
But if you want a game where you can switch between vehicle and on-foot, I highly recommend Transformers : War Cybertron and it's sequel.
Don't let the fact that it's a licensed title fool you, High Moon studios really went all out on it.

Words would not describe how happy I would feel if they made a game centered around the Star Wolf trio.
A game about the original four would be awesome too! For all of them (Except Pigma and possibly Wolf), we ignore since when they’re enemies with Fox’s friends. A game about it would be cool!

I gotta say... people are giving Assault flak for bad voice work, it's not that bad. I particularly like Falco's portrayal.
The delivery was super awful,and I don't even play Star Fox.There was even one point where they say sigh instead of actually doing it.Also Leon sounded creepy instead of super refined British,Slippy sounded more nerdy and annoying than 64/Zero,Peppy sounded like he was sleeping or bored,Fox sounded a little too robotic.The only good ones were Falco,Krystal,and ridiculously Pigma.Even then,for line delivery Pigma was the most natural

I miss the characterization and development from Star Fox Assault. Wolf had the best design there and real character development. Wolf constantly calling Fox 'pup', for example, or Fox saying 'Wolf...' showing that he cares for him.
What's wild to me is how often people don't recognize that. Wolf has known Fox since he was a kid, to Fox he was probably the cool uncle. Professionally they hate each other, but only professionally.

I don't see much of an issue of Wolf's voice in Assault, if anything, I think it's an improvement on the 64 version. It sounds more, well, him. The change with Leon's is the only proper problem I'm seeing
Goodeve does a great Wolf O'donnell. As for Leon, his tone of voice had to change because Panther is basically a replacement for Pigma and the "calculated and stoic" type of member in the team.

if yall think about it, your allies dont really do much in real gameplay battle, they’re simply AI’s that are based off of their mission, and do what they can, but it would be cool to have multiplayer where you have people battling with you or the other team

Okay but can we all acknowledge that in the Venom 2 level they all have prosthetic/cybernetic enhancements? Like... you FUCKED THEM UP last time. Leon got the Harvey Dent treatment, Pigma's skull caved in, and Andrew lost his EYES. Wolf seems to be mostly okay, just a couple LEDs, but the rest of them genuinely look like they've survived a plane crash.
