thank you for this video, I'm currently choosing between two schools and it has been really difficult to decide as I can see myself at both but this video has been quite comforting so thank you.

Hi Julia, I just found this video and now your account. I really appretiate your candor and transparency about your own journey. Your thought process has really help me feel more comfortable in my own. I am thinking about choosing my state school over Brown. While Brown has a fancy big name, my partner and friends are in the area close to this state school and I would get in state tuition. Both programs have pros and cons, but I have had several people including a former residency director tell me that medical school prestige makes very little difference, if any at all. Medical education (thankfully for patients everywhere) is almost identical anywhere you go or so I've been told. Your choosing the less ~presigeous~ option for a school that was a better fit and made more sense for your life has given me the courage to seriously consider doing the same. Thank you! You mentioned that you made a video about leveraging your other offers to get more aid from Rutgers, could you link it? Sorry if I missed it somewhere!

what type of med assistant were you? I'm gonna guess dermatology cause that usually doesn't require certification?

hi Julia, do you consider a 3.6 gpa competitive?

Yes! Anything over a 3.5 is great in my opinion. For medical school, always pay attention to your science GPA as well as your overall GPA. Make sure your science gpa isn’t drastically lower because admissions will take note of that since science classes are the bulk of medical school.
