Conical vs Cylinder Bushings - The perfect skateboard set up part 4

- After testing out the trucks and finding that I liked the heavier ones better, I thought is it due to the bushing in each set of trucks?
So i went out and got the same Cylinder bushings for each pair of trucks and tested them out again.
Will the shape of the bushings make any difference? Lets go find out.

Mate you have put so much work into perfecting your setup it’s awesome. Honestly never even thought about different shaped bushings, might have to have a play with them to see if they improve things for me.
I didn't really think about it either. When I bought the Conical bushings I just asked for blue indys not even really thinking about shape. Its only since I started doing these test that I was like why are the light trucks not as comfortable to start with. They are the same truck as the heavy ones just the lighter version so surely the weight cant make them that much different. Its than I though about the bushings being a different.
Always good to experiment until you find what works for you. I like a heavier truck. The board gets away from me with light trucks. I used to switch my bushings to Bones but now try and be patient and work in the stock bushings.

Yeah possible I would try and stick to the stock bushing as well. This is one reason I thought that the shape of the bushing was making the truck not feel fully stable. If you look at stock bushings they are all Cylinder shaped. I have never had a set of trucks that come with Conical bushing.
Overall I thing if you skate loose trucks I don't think the Conical bushing would be an issue but as I skate more tighter trucks I think the shape doesn't support the truck as much and even when tight still turns a little more easy.
Nice one mate, was cool seeing you skate that section of Graystone. Bushings are probably the thing I know least about so feel like I've learnt something 😎
