Richard Patrick tells us that this song hit like a bolt of lightning. Here's the story: "'Hey Man, Nice Shot' was the 'aha moment,' where you're like, 'That was so easy.' Coming up with the riff and chorus was one of those things like, 'Well, how the f--k hasn't anyone ever done this?' Like, in the last 500 years of music, how in the hell has someone never just pieced this together? Because it makes so much sense, such a perfect little never-ending riff that you could just play forever and ever and ever and it would never get old.
A couple facts... as the state treasurer, he uncovered unlawful uses of money by the governor, for example, the governor used state police to transport his children to boarding school, or something of that nature. Budd committed suicide because, had he been convicted in a corruption scandal involving a contract (who could say whether he was innocent or set up), his family wouldn't have received his pension. Because he died before the trial went on, they received it.
The only reason he wasn't officially found guilty is because he killed himself and you can't hold a trial against a dead man. The records of what went down and the extent of what he did is extremely well documented, and he was absolutely guilty. This was back when politicians had the integrity to recuse themselves when caught red handed of wrongdoing.
Depending on what the 'purists' say, would probably call this Harsh Pop/Aggressive Pop. But to me as long as it's Rock and Electronic, with enough harshness, it's still Industrial.
Aria Britton yeah, the US and UK release of this version (called Big Mac instead of Full Extension) has “early ending” and “gun” edited out. The uncensored version was released in Germany and Australia.

I wouldn't say there's nothing better, but I also love the beginning of the movie. this track looks good at the beginning of the movie, as it adds a sense of tension. This makes the chase brighter emotionally.
This song confused me for a long time, not because I was unaware of Budd Dwyer's suicide, but just because of the vocals - It sounds like the chorus, where he sings "A man has gun.....NICE SHOT!", is actually "Hey man, nice goin'.....NICE SHOT!", and the part where he ACTUALLY sings "That's why I say: Hey man, nice shot" goes "That's why I'm saving the nation...." So until I started paying closer attention to the verses, I thought it was a song about one of those shooters who decides they're an angel of death and their choice to kill OTHERS -not themselves (necessarily)- is somehow "mericful".....
