    In this tutorial, I will show you how I scale my artwork in order to turn one illustration into multiple designs...from the sketch process, to the inking/coloring, to the creation of multiple finished designs. This process will allow you to target multiple niches when you sell your art online (while only using a single illustration!) Not only will it broaden your opportunities for sales, it will also save you time so you can work smarter, not harder!

    Great tutorial! I was just watching another (based on Etsy) and they said only 20% of your listings will sell on average... so the more designs and listings you have, the more you'll sell! This is a great way to really get the most out of each of your artworks and get your products discovered by more people.

    Thank you SO SO SO SO much! I feel like you made this video with me in mind. 😂 This has been my issue exactly -- spending a ridiculous amount of time on a design that only goes to one demographic that is so niched down that it probably reaches 12 people. Lol. Sometimes something that seems obvious isn't. I need to start thinking of my designs as products and not my "babies." 🤣

    Dude thank you for your videos! I’m 45 and I went out and got the Ipro 12.9. I don’t have any graphic training but I’m a artist in my own mind. Your vids idk if they inspired me to do this but I do get a lot out of them thanks.

    Hi BeeJay. Do you remember what size was your canvas? I watched the whole video and rewound it a few times but I couldn't find that you mentioned the size. The reason I ask is because I see that you made different versions so I would want to have enough layers.

      Thanks...and that was a brush that was something I originally found on the forums that I have since stopped using after making my own brushes from scratch (which is what is in the brush pack for sale in the video description.) I know the original poster had pulled the download file for that brush (not sure if it was ever reposted.) I also had made so many adjustments to that one that people didn’t realize they would have to do the same and it caused a lot of confusion. My brush pack features all the brushes I currently use with all of the settings already fine tuned and ready to go (there is one in there similar to the one in this video but is actually so much better.) Hope this helps!

    Hello BeeJay ! Thank you for your video. Very helpful. I'm working with a new I-Mac 27 inches and a old Wacom intuos 4 with Clip studio paint. When watching your video I feel like I need a I-Pad with Procreate. It seems to offer much more possibilities. So I might look to by one. Is it better to purchase the largest. Also do you put your I-pad on a flate table or an angled one when you draw. Just curious.

    With the limits of merch you get on Merch by Amazon, how do you choose what to put up and how long to leave it up for a the testing phase? My account only has a 10 item limit right now. Would I use one design with 10 targeted options or is it better to make 10 entirely different designs for testing? Thanks.

      Early stage i would try 10 different and spread things out

      I do not know if my answer is going to help a lot but i worked 3 months internship the past summer to a printing shop,i do not know what's the best way to pack your designs ,i just watched 2 tutorials from this channel ,but printers can vectorize raster pictures if they have high quality art with clear lineart etc so i think you're going to be okay,moreover i saw from a free assets shop my ex boss used ,a lot designs are giving the option for the client to download just the jpeg,the psd format or a zip format if people want the vector versions.I will search it more after i am done with the comment,i just wanted to info dumb because ....i thought i might help eeeven a lil bit,i hope so,i must clarify tho i am also new to this so do not take my word as it is,i might be wrong! Have a nice day and i wish you good luck.

    Hey BeeJayDeL new to your vids! Would you happen to have a video on how you copyright your work?

    • @BeeJayDeL
      @BeeJayDeL  4 роки тому +8

      It is not something I do. "According to United States Copyright Law, and quoting from the copyright.gov website, your art is considered copyright protected from 'the moment it is created and fixed in a tangible form that it is perceptible either directly or with the aid of a machine or device.' The standard filing fee for copyrighting art is $55, but if you’re registering only one work as the sole author and claimant, it will cost only $35. Having a registered copyright helps you somewhat in a legal battle, but when scaling a business like this, it is not financially viable to file a registered copyright on every piece you make. Hope this helps!

  • @analgetikum

    Great! Thanks for this!
    BUT: Isn't scaling and rotating destroying the lines in procreate? At least that's what I experience when doing so. Or is it a question of resolution?

    • @BeeJayDeL
      @BeeJayDeL  5 років тому +6

      You are right....scaling/rotating does tend to blur lines in Procreate but resolution does play a part in this as well. I always work on a 4500x5400/ 300 DPI canvas which helps- also if you you make a transformation/move...its best to know where your are going/size needed the first time so you only need to make one change (the more you transformation changes in Procreate, the worse it can get.) Also- check and see what your "Interpolation" settings are when you choose the Transform tool-make sure it is set to "Bicubic" or "Bilinear" and not "Nearest Neighbor." TBH- I usually export my designs to PS and scale my designs on the computer, but I know that is not for everyone, lol!

      @@BeeJayDeL ok, thank you! Gotta check those settings.

    • @BeeJayDeL

    • @BeeJayDeL
      @BeeJayDeL  4 роки тому +2

      I don’t use ads...have tried them in the past but the cost outweighed the benefits I was seeing. I’m on T8k now but am eligible for higher-just don’t have the slots filled to tier up.
