  • This is a step by step video on how to replace a Cadillac Cue touchscreen that has become nonresponsive. If you don't have an Escalade you can just skip to the part where I replace the screen on the unit as it will be the same no matter what vehicle you have. Just leave a comment if you have any questions and please subscribe. Thank
I actually worked out a deal to get the screens and you can follow the link below if you want to replace yours.

I cannot say thank you enough. It went smoother than I expected, but make sure you have a T15 bit and good lighting to go along with what Jason mentions. Keep your screws and parts organized to make the process easier. I purchased a plastic kit from Amazon, but the ones that come with the new screen are all you need.
The amount of thank you comments speak for themselves. This fixed our failing screen which also produced a random annoying beep in the drivers door. Seriously... Thank you for the knowledge, the video and supplying it at a reasonable cost. I would have paid 3 times the price because it works.

This guy is a life saver! After my mom's screen became completely unresponsive, the dealership wanted to charge her $1,900 for an entirely new unit. I'm so glad this video surfaced before I sent it to the shop for her. After a couple of hours of my time and a new screen from Jason's website, her Cue system is working as it should again.

Robert Spracale Nope, I didn't. Since this was purely a hardware issue, there wasn't a need for reprogramming.

All I can say is thank you very much!! I just got my new screen and replaced it in my wifes 2014 cadillac srx. It took me an hour and a half. Her old screen went out completely and it was devastating on the cost we thought it would be to get it fixed. I come across your UA-cam video and showed my wife and we instantly ordered from your website. And we are very pleased and appreciative of how much money you saved us and having the instructral video to follow along with. Thank you again. On a scale from 1 to 10 I give you a 12!

Got a quote from the dealer $1900!
The simple kit from eBay $40 and 1.5 hrs to install and watching this video.
Saved $1850 but then spent it on Christmas gifts

Jason, Thanks so much for this video! It truly is the most comprehensive one out there. I ordered the replacement touch screen from you on your website on Saturday and it arrived Monday by noon! In just under two hours, I replaced it in my 2014 SRX. You saved me a lot of $$$. For those with the SRX, here are some instructions on getting the CUE unit out. Then you can follow Jason's great video on how to replace the screen once the CUE is out of the SRX: First remove the two trim pieces covered in leather-like material that travel along each side of the center console. Insert trim tool at the gap right above the emergency flasher switch, below the start button. They snap in and out. You cannot fully remove them; they are attached with a bolt mid-console on the back end. You can just swing them to the side. Once those are out of the way, you can remove the small piece of trim around the small compartment at the bottom of the CUE. The outside trim around the small compartment door pops out at the top and then you pull up to remove it. Once that is out of the way, remove the 2 bolts (7 mm) directly behind where the small trim was and the large piece of trim with the vents pops straight out of place. You can use a trim tool at the top to pry out. You now have full access to the CUE. Remove the 4 bolts (7mm) and the whole thing will come out. The electrical connectors in the back of the unit are a bit of a pain. Careful not to break them

Excellent video. Replaced mine successfully. A couple of comments though: 1) I really wish you would have shown how tough it is to pull that first trim off. Felt like I was going to break it. 2) The little tabs that you have to move to get the secret compartment box off was a little blurry. I really didn't know what you were referring to. 3) A little better picture of the clip that holds the ribbon in. I actually missed the 1.5 seconds that it was on the screen. lol. 4) Screws: When the screws are taken out, it would have helped to put them in their own piles in the order they were removed. They are different. Some are machine threads. Some are like wood screws. 5) IMPORTANT: Touchscreens are very sensitive to pressure around the edges. I only snugged mine up to get rid of any slack - not tight. It works great. Better than it ever did. While searching for videos I saw a lot of people complaining about the touchscreen not working all that great. This is probably why.

I purchased one of the new touchscreens from you, got it on Friday and installed it today. My husband thought I was crazy, but when I told him how much it would cost to take it in, he understood. After struggling with the cords plugged in, it was not a bad process. You've made it a great step by step guide to get it done. I'm finished and it works like new! Thank you.

The Cue Screen on my wife’s 2015 Cadillac SRX was completely unresponsive, the dealership wanted to charge her $2,500 plus tax for an entirely new unit. I did a little research on UA-cam and saw Jayson A’s video on how to replace the screen, and he had the screen in stock. This video was so helpful it only took under two hours to do the job. Thanks Jayson you made my life easy!!! Plus my wife is so happy not having paying big bucks to get it fixed.

Jason did an fantastic job explaining the entire process of removing a touch screen with no functionality and inserting a new one that fixed the issue I was having with my 2013 Cadillac SRX. The video is for an escalade but very similar once the head unit is removed. I used another video to remove from SRX. He provides a link to purchase a new touch screen at an affordable price and it comes with tools that do not scratch the interior of the vehicle. Once I installed the new screen all functionality returned and vehicle is running like new. I had a few questions and Jason was prompt with support and everything worked perfectly. Saved money big time by not going to any of the dealerships I called. "Boom and you done!" Thanks so much Jason, you did a wonderful job.

This is just what you need if you have a CUE that is not responding. I agonized months trying to justify paying the dealer too much $. I order the replacement screen on Tuesday eve and received it promptly on Friday. The video was very helpful particularly once the unit is out of the dash. Happily there was much was much less involved in getting the unit out of my SRX dash that the Escalade on the video. Thanks so much for the video and deal on the replacement screen. Based on the estimates I was seeing online, this saved me at least $1000. THANK YOU. PS Notice the film off the inside of the new screen that needs to be removed before installation.

I bought this unit from Jason for my 2013 Cadillac ATS and it worked perfectly. Everything was very straight forward and I was very surprised that everything went smoothly. I had many email communications with Jason and he always answered within 24 hours - very nice guy!
I do NOT regret doing this project myself at all. Here are some tips
    1) Know when to use force and when to be gentle.
    2) if your car is older, then the clips and plastics might be very hard and easily break. Be careful not to break any clips or connectors.
    3) keep screws separated and labeled to make it easier when putting everything back together.
    4) when applying force to any of the panels, dont put all the pressure on one spot as it may break the clips. I recommend spreading the force evenly and wiggling it loose.
    5) When changing the screen, don't untuck the tiny ribbon cable until AFTER the screen is screwed into place.
    6) Have the right screw drivers for the 3 different types of screws you will be dealing with.
    7) dont take the front screen plastic off until everything is fully installed back into your car to avoid any scratches.
    8) as you play around to make everything fit back, be careful not to put to much pressure on the screen portion of the unit as it might break the actual screen or the new cover.
    9) when changing screens, I highly recommend using surgical gloves to avoid getting smudges on the inside of the screen. This can be bad for many reasons including overheating from the grease.
    10) when placing the unit back into your car, be sure to use something soft like a Tshirt under the unit to avoid damaging it.
    11) the secret compartment will always keep opening as you play around with it. Be prepared to not damaged it.
    12) Depending on the model of Cadillac you have, you might have to be in drive before some of the sections will come off. For my ATS for example, I had to be in drive before I could take out the cup holders.

Thanks for the video. I ordered the replacement screen from your website linked above and replaced the screen over the weekend. I have a 2014 XTS so getting the CUE unit out was different, but once removed your video was very helpful to swap out the screen.
***One thing to note*** There is a protective film on BOTH sides of the new screen. You will need to remove the protective film from the inner side of the screen before installing. I did not notice this prior to putting everything back together. Once I removed the protective film on the outer side of the screen I noticed a few air bubbles and imperfections. That is when I realized there was a film on the other side of the screen. I had to remove the CUE and screen again to remove this film. Once that was removed it looked great!
Thanks again. Saved almost $1200 vs going through the dealer.

I found some instructions posted in a cadillac forum. These were clear enough to guide me through the removal process. It is in the second post on this page.
      www.cadillacforums.com/forums/cadillac-xts-forum/1025785-2014-xts-cue-navigation-module-removal.html
I didn't remove the transmission shifter knob (step 1). I just pulled up the black plastic trim piece with "P R N D M" (I believe it was 4 clips and an electrical connector) and just kind of twisted it out of the way as needed.

Dude - AWESOME video! I did it! I changed the screen in my '13 ATS and it works perfectly! Totally thanks to your fantastic video, I would have NEVER figured that out! For $99 and a little less than 2hrs. You are a Knight! A Gladiator! No - you are THE MAN!
The part that gave me the most trouble was getting the little storage box off the back, and then where you show the little tab on the ribbon at 10'21", I thought you meant the white part of the clip, I didnt see the black hinging part at first. So I broke a tiny bit of the white clip off but I just put a small dab of model glue on the corner to hold the black part closed.

Well we have the srx ‘13 with the exact issue. Started with half the screen now just gone. I was told 2500 from one and a buddy of mine said 500. This looks easy to all of you but this went from 10 screws to 50 pretty quick. Lol if I do this I may end up in a bigger problem then when I started because that’s just me.

I second all the thanks given for this video. I managed to get my digitizer replaced on 2013 Cadillac cue within an hour. I initially used the screen's failure as an excuse to buy one of those Tesla 10 inch Android units. As a warning to anyone contemplating the same thing, do not buy from AliExpress or any other Chinese sellers. They claim to sell 2gb RAM versions but they always lie and send units with half the specs and change the build.prop file to show full specs until you run AnTuTu benchmarks to learn the truth. Stick to Phoenix or one of the other US sellers instead. anyways, this video was great. fixed my screen for less than 50 bucks.👍

Ok so everything worked!! Amazing!!! There’s one thing in the video that was not clear but I hope to help someone out like me. The ribbon is so important. There is a black latch, if you do not flip that up and remove the ribbon you can damage the unit. But even more important is that you insert the new ribbon with the clasp up and then close the clasp on the ribbon. You cannot be more than 1 mm apart or your screen will not respond.
