      @turdleyurtle Місяць тому

      @@wigglemelon8807Yichud is the finalization step of a Jewish marriage ceremony! There are a few major parts of a Jewish wedding after the betrothal (kiddushin). They are: the signing of the ketubah (marriage contract), the exchange of something of value (usually rings) in front of witnesses, and then Yichud (seclusion of the couple). So after the chuppah ceremony (with the rings!), the couple then enters Yichud (literally enters "seclusion") together in a room. Being alone in a room together symbolizes the completion of the wedding ceremony and that they are fully religiously married.
      The three major steps are based on Jewish religious texts written down around 500 CE that came from even earlier oral traditions. Basically in the ancient Jewish world a man was married to a woman if he had a) a contract with witnesses, b) exchanged something of value with her and she accepted and c) they cohabitated (that is, they could be alone together and consummate the marriage). Yichud is like...symbolically the last part. People don't actually have sex during Yichud (it's not a long time!) it's just emphasizing that the couple is religiously and legally together as a married couple.
      Depending on the couple and what customs of the wedding they observed, the time spent on Yichud (which isn't very long typically) can be like...breaking a fast/eating snacks, exchanging some private words, the groom may give the bride jewelry to wear or put back on, and so on.

      It's so awful. I get the feeling that this mua is probably a very funny and a good person but she just doesn't have the ability to separate the business side from having fun and vibing. And after all that she has failed to see the point that everyone else sees. It's sad that this day was ruined for the couple, for the mua it's just another wedding but for the couple it's supposed to be their special day, one of the best day of their lives. And the mua is just all about her, like c'mon nothing about this day was about you, you were supposed to be behind the scenes doing the makeup. I feel like maybe she should change her profession or at least stop doing weddings if she can't separate herself from the wedding. I feel bad for everyone even for the mua but I would have loved to see her realize the whole picture instead of kinda making everything about her. She's the type of person to be friends with everyone and super social butterfly but you can't bring that to someone else's special day, keep that for your friends not for your clients. And one thing I don't like at all is her bringing up race, that was the last reason for you being asked to leave. I hate that people are trying to use race to justify things or get people to their defense, don't do that if the issue at hand has nothing to do with it.

      My in-laws invited a friend that had been a wedding coordinator. She decided to step in and destroy so many things about my wedding like making my bouquet all white roses(I saved money by making our own bouquets and I did the centerpieces which honestly was my happy thing so wasn’t driven as much by money as my creativity), screaming at my bridesmaids until they cried, and the biggest holy moly this is unacceptable due to my family dynamics making a bride’s and groom’s family tables. I understand it is different than paying someone to do a service and having them ruin your wedding but I paid for a guest to ruin my wedding. I got over her stealing my happiness of making my own bouquet while I did the centerpieces(using the flowers I don’t like and skipping my favorite flower)but the cluster F of ugliness from the brides family table thing(plus making the bridesmaids cry)was unforgivable. The pics that hurt me 23 yrs later since the photographer wisely stayed away from the family drama since my dad warned him and he was a family friend was the wedding party pics with my bouquet that I despised because it didn’t represent what I wanted at all and was one of the few things I thought I could make happen for myself. I didn’t expect my wedding to be the best day of my life but I did expect to celebrate the things I was looking forward to.

Her reviews on Google are really good too (although afaik that sort of thing can be manipulated). But at the same time, I have a hard time believing that someone who acts this way at all doesn't have a history of boundary-pushing. So the conclusion I've kinda settled on is that she always pushed boundaries a bit, but the behavior got dialed up to 11 because she was emotional from the breakup.

The Groom is clearly not vibing with you. Even if the bride LOVES you and actually desperately wants you to stay (which is so weird because she doesn't know you), you are causing friction between the bride and groom on thier wedding day. Having a big loud fun personality is awesome, it sounds like she's a great MUA and her work is beautiful, but a wedding is not about the makeup, and you as an employee should not become such a big feature of someone's wedding (good or bad) that you overshadow what else is happening. I fear the issue is with her but also with this weird social media mindset that feelings are always valid. They aren’t. This was a perfect example of her feelings removing her from reality around her so much that it made her client feel she needed to accommodate her, despite not wanting to on an already stressful day.

    A Wedding Day is about the BRIDE and the GROOM not the MAKEUP ARTIST! It's done, leave! Told nasty or not. She's been doing everyone's job when she didn't need to. 🤦‍♀
