- Finding, Catching and Fishing with TINY CRABS as bait in the Saltwater for Whatever Bites!! Today we head out to catch our own bait before we go fishing. We then head out to go saltwater fishing at some bridges in North Florida with a mission - eat whatever I catch. What kind of fish would be around a bridge and in the saltwater during this time of the year?? We attempt to see what we can catch while bridge fishing.. I did not expect for this to happen..

Probably a 3ft shark
One thing you can try is when you are looking for crabs, bring a scraper and by chance if you come across some barnacles collect them then use them to chum your bridge spot. You may fire a sheepie up. Large barnacles are also great bait.

This looks exactly like the pier I just finished in Jacksonville. Close to the shore were eating size trout and smaller black drum. Got two lines snagged from the stupid rocks tho
If you’re trying to catch sheepshead I’d very highly recommend using smaller hooks and as light of a weight (depending on the tide of course) as well as thin line (8-10lb recommended) and minimal terminal tackle, sheepshead are real iffy about too much terminal tackle and thick line. You also should be holding your rod in your hands at all times to feel for sheeps bites, they’re notorious for having very subtle bites and being super hard to hook.
Fiddler crabs are great..you can wear em like earrings they don't pinch too hard 😂 Gotta pull over in the marsh land at low tide there's usually buckets of em 👍

Trying to get into fishing but dont know anybody who fishes atm, if im saltwater fishing is freshwater gear ok mostly from a pier in my area and if not whats a good setup to begin with in anyones opinion?
