  • Big fish devour live shrimp in the safest part of the dock. In this video I'm tossing my baits underneath residential saltwater docks in Florida and the fish are hungry for them.

It always amazes me to see fishermen cast out as far as possible on the dock. Guys in boats come in close and cast under the dock

The guys on the dock also use pre-made wire leaders complete with weight and snap swivel! These guys are known by experienced anglers as "squidders", named after their favorite frozen bait. When I was VERY young my dad told me that 90% of the fish caught, were caught by 10% of the fisherman! As I grew up, I realized how true that is!

Lol I used to do that when I didn't know a damn thing about fishing. So stupid to cast out in open water when fish and bait fish always gather near structure. I've seen guys catch Goliath grouper just dropping right under a dock they're standing on. Big snook, reds, trout, mangrove snapper, grouper, you name it. They'll be under the dock in the shade protected by structure so long as it's deep enough under there with moving water.

Great video as usual! Not sure why I feel compelled to say something, but the paradigm that I'm coming from is one in which I have back surgery scheduled for Jan. 10th to fix a problem I've been nursing for the last 30 years or so. There is no way I could cook on the ground right now...pick something up maybe, but not stay bent over. Why not take some wear and tear off the back by getting a newspaper and keeping it in the truck? One sheet under the stove is all it would take to protect the table from spatters. Just a thought.

It's hard for that little stove to get hot enough for a good white hot cast iron skillet needed to truly blacken the fish. I found the best way, and I know you're cooking on the move and portable, but the best way is to put the skillet right on top of a pile of red hot charcoals on a charcoal grill. That's the best way to blacken fish and Ive tried several different ways. You fried them good but they aren't blackened. And I agree with the redfish magic. That stuff is excellent 👌
