True fact: This song was originally written for a horror film project that never got made, and got reworked for Flashdance when that film went into production instead. The original working lyrics included the chorus line "He's a maniac, maniac at your door / he will kill your cat and nail him to the floor!". Look it up.
Sounds like it could've definitely worked for the movie, but I like this version of the lyrics better personally.

I got to see Carpenter Brut live in LA, and it was one of the best shows I've ever been to. This was the encore, and the floor was litterally pounding with everyone pogoing, and a guy doing the 3 stooges floor spin. It was awesome! Little known fact, Maniac was originally about a manic killer, and the chorus was about how a maniac moved in next door and hes going to kill your cat and nail it to the floor, but the lyrics were changed when it was used in the movie Flashdance. It's rumored the song was written after the film of the same name, Maniac, that movie where a guy jumps on a car hood and shoots special effects legend Tom Savini point blank in the face with a double barrel shotgun. Perfect with the Hotline Miami theme.
By far, the best cover I've ever heard of Maniac. You won't stop amazing with your work. Come to Portugal, PLEASE!
