Do you think it would still work with a protective back cover that is meant to work Magic Keyboard for the iPad Pro? Like SwitchEasy CoverBuddy, MOFT Snap or Pitaka MagEZ? Without the Magic Keyboard attached of course. I can see this mounting rig useful to have the iPad Pro 12.9" in vertical orientation next to iMac 24".
I just ordered a similar magnetic mount for my desk. It’s going to save space. And it’s going to save me money from thinking about ordering the Studio display to pair my m1 Macbook pro. Just for the bigger screen and the ports to support my webcam and microphone and plug in my DAC. Not worth the $1,600 for that display. This iPad has 120hz and Mini LED.
Do you have recommended “triple arm” for iPad with casing? I dont mind arm without magnetic like this Ku Xiu triple arm. This Ku Xiu triple arm is good but I don’t want to remove the iPad case. I guess Ergotron, but any other brand with similar quality?
What do you mean by triple arm? There are actually iPad magnetic cases that can work with such magnetic stands, but those cases are significantly more expensive compared to usual cases.
I'd like a stand like this, but with support for several devices (for example I have an Ipad Air and a Tab S8 Ultra and would like to be able to mount either one). Is there such a thing?
I wish that the iPad would support both wireless charging (Qi2 or Airfuel), and multi 10Gbits/s low latency 60Ghz WiGig (802.11ay) wireless docking for I/O (USB-C, USB-A, HDMI, Ethernet,…), and that the magnetic stand integrate wireless charging and wireless docking : it would make it so convenient to use !!!
the metal backing of the ipad will not allow wireless charging, most ipads will only get “wireless charging” by doing passthrough using the pins in the back
@@TropicalCycAs of January 2024, yes I would agree. But it is technically feasible to choose other material (like glass) to be the whole (or part, just enlarge the Apple logo, and make it from glass) back of future iPad generation, to let wireless charging go through it. It should already be that way for many years now as Airfuel (Witricity) wireless charging seems really to make a lot if sense for this use case…
Thanks for highlighting the vertical angle of the first arm.
Pixar vibes
Thank you for a great, very informative video! Your review is the most thorough and informative I have seen! Well done! 🙏🏾👍🏾😊
Reminds me of the old Mac desktop that had the rotating arm.
Hi, excellent review 👍. Also, this holder allows the user to attach the Apple Pencil to the magnetic connection point on the iPad.
Thank you for posting this, as it was very helpful.
This stand looks so cool😍😍
Thanks, very in depth!👍🏻
I wish one of those kind of stands could work for drawing.....
Hi there! Is the magnet strong enough to hold the ipad with the Pitaka Mag Ez iPad case since it is really thin?
Great video! Can it hold the 12.9 iPad upside down? (So with the display facing the ground)
Yes
thanks teoh!

It will not work with a cover unless the cover has a magnetic back
@@teohontech7141 that’s my initial thought as well. It seems like the MOFT Snap has a magnet array.
@@longpvoI happened to receive my pitaka magnetic case along with this arm. No problems.

Tengo una pregunta súper importante, se puede utilizar si mi iPad tiene un estuche ..?? Funciona igual si mi iPad tiene estuché ..?
Can I clamp it to a vertical surface instead of a tabletop or a table leg? Basically a П-clamp instead of a C-clamp situation
Sales support told me it's possible (waiting for mine at the moment)

There is. It's those clamping style stands. www.ergotron.com/en-us/products/product-details/45-306#?color=black

is there a similar stand, or any stand that you reccommend for the huawei matepad pro 12.6 inch?
There are no magnetic stands for Huawei table. Get the universal stand (rotating) from Lululook www.lululook.com/?rfsn=6999625.5cb85f

is this compatible with the apple magic keyboard folio?
No
Is it strong enough for drawing?
No
Can you have it flat on the table?
Which part do you need it flat?
Will this hand hold a Huion kamvas 16" or surface pro? I mean it's metallic as far as I know
No because the magnetic plate is made for iPad Pro
@@teohontech7141 thanks! Good item anyway, I hope we will see more good portable arms in the future.
Nice video
It works with the Tab S9 Ultra?
Not this model. The one with the clamp mount works with Tab S9 Ultra. www.parkablogs.com/content/review-kuxiu-x36-clamp-arm-big-tablets
What version of iPad did you use in this review? 2018 12.9” Pro?
2018 iPad Pro 12.9
Is it bear a weight of heavy weight tablet????
It is strong enough for the iPad Pro 12.9
does it work with a samsung tab s8 ultra?
No. Look at Lululook stands instead
I just want iPad, so I can get this. 🤔
Alguém no Brasil comprou?
pixar stand
Useless as it cannot be used with back cover
There aren't many cases or covers that have magnets for use with magnetic stands.
