Afraid of humans?? What a joke... they most likely recognise the staff. Not just that, but when they attack, it's their instincts that had kicked in. When they recognise the person, they "snap out " of it. That's why having them as "pets" is dangerous. They might be genuinely attached to you, but for a few seconds, their instincts might surface.. and a few seconds are more than enough for a fatal attack to happen.. The man dies, and the animal is shot. Everyone loses

Well, considering the fact that actual Velociraptors were only the size of a large turkey, I'd say they wouldn't really be much of a threat to humans, unless you were swarmed by a whole pack of them. The Velociraptors in the Jurassic Park movies weren't scientifically accurate. The ones in the movies were closer in size to that of a Utahraptor or Deinonychus than a Velociraptor.

It looks to me like their stalking is mostly playful. They know he's not food, but the hunting instinct is triggered when he turns his back, so they want to go for him.
I suspect that if they really tried to catch him, they would be a lot more forceful (and also try to be sneakier).
Still, it's a powerful display and a good reminder that big cats don't make good pets.

I think sometimes they just want to peform there skills to be the 'strongest' in the room including the human so they feel like if somebody saw me the run is over achivement failed not like really attaking but actually more then playing

What people don't understand is it's pure instinct. Even if a cat sees you as a friend, it will be compelled to sneak up on you if your back is turned. They do this in both hunting and play. The problem is that big cats are powerful enough to seriously hurt you just from playing. Even domestic cats can hurt you if they are not taught to play with sheathed claws and not bite. We have thinner, more fragile skin, and they don't instantly understand that we can be hurt easily by them through play.

This wasn’t a hunting instinct. This was them playing. Their mouths would’ve shown to be more aggressive and open. This was definitely a more playful attack. Hence to why they acted fine when he turned around. They’d still be trying to get him if it was an attack aggressively.

I've seen that big cats that have spent extended time with humans seem to have learnt to hold back tho.
My mother, who worked with big cats when I was younger, drilled this into me as a kid every day. Never turn your back on them, never take your eyes off them, and never run from them.
Unfortunately, people seem to think that just because they're in zoos, or "domesticated" that means they're harmless.

Thank you for keeping this animals. They are definitely not pets, nor entertainment. I always like to think that as humans our mission is to be keepers of this earth and the noble animals that share this place with us.
By entertaiment I mean that these animals are not meant to be in a circus, tv show or whatever industry exploits them.

that's right, those felines have definitely seen the movie
Last day I worked in a forest near creek. I had to fix smth small(wire) quickly as I there was cattle nearby. Also, the neighbouring farm has a guard-dog which is set loose time to time to piss off strangers.
It ads up and I had a chance of experiencing "blunt quick look around" after 20 minutes of concentrated work in a environment that is surrounded with MOVING NATURAL GREEN COLOUR.
Out in the wilds they would hide in tall grass and their camouflage might do the trick but on a flat surface their instincts don't do them a favor.
Housecats got the same instinct, you don't have to take a risk beeing mauled by them though.
Actually, that's exactly how they think. These animals are highly dependent on their ability to remain unseen by their prey until it's too late. They trust their natural camouflage and hence think that by standing still you will not see them. As soon as you turn and face them, they hesitate and stop again in hopes that you don't spot them. It's all natural instinct.
