I'm so glad I found your youtube channel. I have been drawn to Irish culture and mythology since I was born, due to my ancestry being primarily through Ireland. And now, I want to start my relationship with Ireland and it's history, and you have been such a pillar lately for me. So thank you! :D

Just meditate. Ask your guides to lead you. I was born into the Catholic family. I was baptized, but my mom fell away from the church before I did my first communion. I grew up listening to my mom and her brothers and sisters complain about the church. They all attended catholic school and they spoke in detail of the abuse the nuns would put them thru. My mom was left handed but she would be rapped on the knuckles if she didn’t use her right hand. I could give more examples but hopefully u get the picture. By the time I was 18 I’d say I was pretty immersed into paganism, during a meditation once while trying to contact spirit guides someone kept stepping along side of me but I’d quicken my pace and leave him behind. In another meditation he appeared in modern styled clothes and introduced himself as Chris. Now I stopped believing in Catholicism, a long time ago, but I had this St. Christoper medal I loved. I mean loved! Don’t know why. Never could figure it out. Putting it all together I realized St. Christopher has been one of my guides since I was baptized.

@@c.hunter9069 Contacting Lugh is a lot like contacting any deity; it’s about building a lived relationship.
Learn his stories, in a deep way.
Spend time in prayer (talking to him and listening also).
Make appropriate offerings (make sure your offering isn’t doing double-duty as trash or toxic).
Participate in activities related to him with him in mind.
Go to places associated with him (I’d suggest hill tops, crossroads, markets, sporting fields, the edge of crop fields, boundary places, or a shrine made for him) and do one or more of the above there.
Basically, like any relationship, be respectful, find common ground, be ready to put in time and work

Hello. I understand that this is way too long after you've posted this, but I wish to thank you. I am not from Ireland, but my herritage is of the most importance to me. I visited Ireland, and felt a strange kind of connection with it. I knew that I was supposed to be there, but I was still confused, until I saw this video. This might sound ridiculous, but I feel I know which spiritual path to take. Thank you so much!

I came here long after finding my connection to the Celtic pantheon but am just always trying to find more information, I'm with you in that I'm not from Ireland but my heritage is important to me. I've got Scottish, Celtic, and German ancestry and although I've no idea what I have the most of, I just felt a connection towards my Celtic roots and slowly realized I'd kind of had a patron waiting for me to figure things out and start to work with them. Thankfully I got one of the most patient ones possible because boy am I terrible at this all still 😹😹😹

For me, it was a kind of easy answer. I didn't choose my diety, she chose me and I just fell in love when I started learning about her. It was a process but it was pretty natural and there was a looooot of guidance. I'm probably an anomaly though... but yes it is a lifelong process, I'm still learning so much and growing as a worshipper.

I have found over the years in my relationship with Brighid that reading stories or poetry/invocations etc. that I have found here and there has had the unexpected benefit of Her gently guiding me to the ones She "approves of" for lack of a better term. The ones that don't meet Her requirements (whatever they are) sort of just fade out of my practice and memory. I'll stumble on them in old journals sometimes and think, yeah... that one wasn't a hit with Her that year!

Thank you for this info! My family (one side) is very Irish, lol, prior to leaving South Sligo for cities, they'd been there for longer than anyone really knows, but certainly several hundreds of years, and as DNA testing has shown, no English in the blood. Hah! 👀Just a lil bit of Scottish. Part of fam came by way of Scotland waaaaay back when, they say. Much of the fam is still there (Dublin, Mayo, all over)-- it was just my pup pup that had come over to the States as the eldest. That is all to say that I feel and have always felt very connected to Celtic Mythology, music, they had me in step dancing classes... It's taken on a different form now that I consider myself a pagan (witch is what I usually go with). Anyway, he didn't teach Gaeilge to any of his children, and I suppose I could ask my mother's cousins/my cousins once removed, but then they'd know I'm into Paganism, lol. I'm not in the broom closet, but like... I don't go into specifics. I'm glad to have found you; I've been getting synchronicity after synchronicity that has brought me to Cernunnos, but I'm not able to find much. This is only the 3rd or so vid I've watched of yours, and I know you have many, but can you verify the Gaeilge pronunciation, and tell me if I'm barking up the wrong tree with Celtic Mythology? I understand the knowledge surrounding Cernunnos is old and limited...

Let me ask this ~ and my apologies if this has already been covered ~ but would the connection with Irish deities not be more specific to the land of Ireland than anywhere else? I ask because, living in North America I wonder how strong the connection might be in a foreign land? Pure curiosity here.

  • @sequinify

When you say to build a relationship & not just take, but also give, what kind of give do you mean? Is it like your time spent meditating & talking with them, or physical offerings, like herbs? I know that if your guide or ancestors want something specific they will tell you. But what is it that you yourself like to give to Irish Gods?

    • @marylamphere2112
      @marylamphere2112 2 роки тому

I see it as the same as a relationship with a parent or older relative. I "give" by giving my time and attentions, just like with my mom. The more I talk with, and sometimes it feels like I'm just talking to Her instead of with Her, it pleases Her. She sees me as a child to be guided but that isn't possible unless I am willing to just be with Her.
Does that make any sense? It's late but I can't sleep. So down the Irish pagan UA-cam holes!

If there was no draft or possible disturbance from anything, even your breath, then it could be a number of things. It could be energies present in the room, it could be the presence of a spirit responding (especially if you are speaking in the area). It really depends on the situation from my personal experience.

Considering the Norse also blended with a lot of people, I think that also has an effect on how they view that sort of thing. They can probably appreciate the melding of different cultures, if done respectfully

Lookup Dagda and any extensions. He is master of the elements of Earth Sky/Space Fire and Water. He is our most honored and revered ancestor. Our Great Father his cauldron is never empty though we fest from it day and night his harp echoes down the glen in the singing of birds. You are a free child of Dagda and you must find and honor you, Great ancestor, the Keltic Cross is a symbol of his power. Dagda has seen off the interloper and is calling his children to return to the hollow hills and hedges that they may be renewed in the great spirit of living and enjoying the experience and helping others to discover who they really are.
