Jen Sincero - How to be a BADASS at MAKING MONEY | Afford Anything Podcast (Ep. #75) | Audio

- Опубліковано 15 жов 2024
- In her early 40's, Jen lived in a converted garage, buried in credit card debt and scrounging for spare change.
She was the type of person who'd join her friends at a restaurant for dinner, order nothing except tap water, and fill up on the complimentary bread basket.
She used duct-tape to repair her shoes. Her "splurges" consisted of buying new windshield wipers.
Despite her struggles, Jen believed that pursuing wealth was icky. She'd internalized negative social attitudes towards money, such as:
Money isn't important. People are.
Rich people are lucky / gross / shallow.
You can't make money doing [insert your-dream-here].
You have to attend a good college to make money.
Money is out of my reach.
It's lonely at the top.
Who has that kind of money?
He/she is only about the money.
Those negative attitudes, Jen says, were holding her back. So she created a more positive script -- such as "I'm good at making money," and "Money is a tool that helps me live my best life." This attitude shift made all the difference.
In today's interview, Jen describes her journey from broke to badass, and she explains how everyone can become more of a maverick at making money.
Enjoy!

I am literally listening to this as a 40 year old artist/musician/writer living in a converted garage. I was looking to repair my relationship with making money and this was the first video that popped up. You can't make this stuff up! I am so grateful :)
She's priceless. I found out about her when Lewis Howes interviewed her. I just love her clarity and honesty. I value that a lot. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Engaging with books has significantly elevated my perspective on investing. True wealth isn't built through mere savings; financial freedom stems from strategic investments. I've learned that accumulating wealth hinges on making prudent investment decisions..
Absolutely, as per an author, it's essential to collaborate with a financial advisor. Their expertise ensures profitable decisions, navigating in and out of investments seamlessly!
Choose a reputable financial adviser like *Jenny Pamogas Canaya* for insurance, regardless of the firm. With her dedicated career in financial planning, you'll receive guidance for growth, better navigation, and secure task completion|.
I love it. Get comfortable with being uncomfortable. Do It Scared! Do It Broke! Do it Sad! Do It Right where you are! A quote Jen Said is, "To succumb to fear is the illusion that you can tell the future"
I could tell the interviewer had a lot judgement around Jen stating that she borrowed money and used her credit card to get the coaching she needed. I'm so glad she didn't edit that part out like she says she was thinking of doing. Thinking inside the box is exactly what keeps people stuck and prolongs they're current situation. Having a fire under my ass, motivates me. Some people don't have 10 years to pay off a debt before they start working towards their dreams and goals. That is where faith and action comes in. This was a great interview. Thank you.
You have great interview skills. I really appreciate how you ask questions and have the art of listening that is such a unique and special skillset.
I read her book You are Badass, honestly, something shifted within me, especially with working on gratitude :) Clients start coming from everywhere, money literally flows towards us what makes me feel even better and be more grateful! Thank you, Jen! I think she knows what I am talking about :)
Arturas Abraamian this is encouraging!💖
I'm glad you let that piece of information in the podcast about credit card debt. I feel the same with you, but it is so empowering to hear Jen how she was unstoppable at changing her beliefs.
Thank you for saying that!! It was a tough choice, but I'm also glad that I left that part in!! :)
I love Jen Sincero, but I'm commenting to say that was the best interviewer I've ever heard.
Most intelligent, pertinent questions for a guest on a talk. That was wonderful, thank you.
This is the best podcast I ever heard. It’s so simple but sooooo profound.
I totally relate to Jenn’s stories. She’s so honest and I love that she doesn’t talk the standard bullshit. 👍
Thank you! 💖
Hey you, out there, you broke LoA / Mani / Neville coach 🤭 (like the smoker Alai guy), listen to the lovely Jen AND LEARN!
I'm so grateful for discovering Jen Sincero, Pam Grout and Grant Cardone back in 2017!
They were real game changers along my self-help journey! 💖 👍
INTERVIEWER ASKS GREAT QUESTIONS....JEN IS AWESOME !!!

That's so helpful thanks
Glad it helped!
I just encountered this channel, I really loved how Paula asks the "hard questions, her honesty and transparency as well. :)
The book is really well-written. Great job, Jen!
Ahhh Paris! I love your book and am gifting it to my people in my circle. You're also helping me so much 🤗🤗🤗💕💕💕
@@deborahappreciates8 aw thank you!! 🙏🏽
Found this interview while searching for more books by Jen Sincero. Worth listening every moment and now I'm definitely a subscriber!!
I've heard the audiobook and found it very motivating.
Do u know any place where i can find free audiobook of this particular book? Thanks
Going to listen to again!
I love Jen! Really recommend her book.
Also the interviewer has got a lovely voice:) thank you ladies!
Thank you Jen ! from a French Badass
I think I may be the only one that wasn’t a huge fan of the interview questions. I absolutely love Jen!! love her books and I’m not hating I just felt like this interviewer would ask questions that Jen had just talked about and/or would ask slightly irrelevant questions. Jen even say “like I was just mentioning...”
Thank you for posting tho! Highly recommend her books
Great interview, thank you. I would love to know who Jen’s coach was.
Loved the book! Will read it several times, before i give it to someone else!!
Thank you for this great interview 😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you 🙏🏽
What a great interview. Very powerful. Great takeaway points.
Loved her book! So inspirational ✨
I LOVE FOOD SHOPPING.. part of the Joy
I love Jen❤
Hey Paula...I loved this podcast, would love to get her book. Thanks for putting this out on You Tube.
Cool story. Exciting, funny, and inspiring.
Very interesting story 👏
I am a Flat Ass, will do some squats and listen to Jens audio books
Great interview! You really have a gift for interviewing and helping people share their story.
She said in another interview that she borrowed the money to pay for the coach from people she knew (while she had the credit card debt).
Great interview!
Thanks so much very good interview I really appreciate it
I love Jen but this host sounds like an SNL character! Also, the badass disclaimer at the beginning was way over the top!
I agree but think about it this way: she’d get backlash if she didn’t do that also
This was very insightful, thanks for the great podcast!!
Great show!!
The explicit warning for saying “badass” 🙄
DFSMoneyTeam lmfao I rolled my eyes and mocked that statement when I heard it 😭😂
Amazing questions amazing answers
BIG kudos for the interview's questions, they were terrific, and really dig deeper than the typical book review pods. Thank you for sharing ❤️
New drinking game: Take a shot each time the interviewer say WOW.
How did she initially get clients? Does the book explain the strategies she used?
Amazing Interview~👍
I've been through this self doubt because I have a learning disability. I don't hate money, but I suck at money management. I'm lacking the maths skills to deal with it. I don't think it's a belief because of my real struggles.
Do you know how to use a calculator? The smartest person in the world is a person and never stop using is all her resources to obtain information. Your thoughts are as powerful as you believe they are. Work on loving yourself to build confidence. I see you have learning disabilities but I have overcome a lot especially within this last year. I can assist you. I’m currently doing this with myself now.
I’ve heard Jen Sincero say her coach cost her $85,000. If that was a quarter of her annual income-she was already making $340,000 yearly. That doesn’t really seem like she was broke to me.
Have you read her book? This isn't the coach for $85,000, she hired a lower cost coach first from what I remember. Then she upgraded to the $85,000 coach which she borrowed money from a friend for.
I love this book. That’s the reason it’s so relatable because she was literally scraping by. She had one less expensive coach, maybe $2-10K, I don’t think she says exactly, before she took the leap and made the decision to hire the extremely expensive coach and *find* a way to pay for her. The Audible book is incredible. Definitely recommend it for her humor and comedic timing.
@@StephaniRoberts I love this book and I love Jen sincero. But to present even 2000$ on a coach as a feasible option for many people is unrealistic and fairly dismissive.
@@Vimarobabooks I totally get that. Whatever the amount that feels too much, her message is to break through that and ask “how can I get it?” I think something finally clicked in her and it was something she knew she needed to make things change in her life. She knew it on a visceral level and was willing to risk all kinds of things to make it happen.
I agree though that it doesn’t feel within reach for most. Pretty sure everyone has their “click” moment where we finally push ourselves out of our comfort zones. I’ve been there.
Hey Paula I need to admit that your lovely voice made me eargasm ... you have some little crisp in your voice with some higher notes in the end of each word you say, i love that. thank you.
René Rohner yes she is a great interviewers tone , radio voice and educated
She sounds Asian
All the time I was thinking that she never even mentioned the name of the coach that helped her change her life. I was hoping for a much more spiritual approach in her talk. So much of the basic information is from great authors like Louise Hay and Wayne Dyer.
kelly charlton yes, it would be nice if she actually plugged that person to support and promote that person as well.
I keep guessing that it was Barbara Stanny. Guessing.
Just heard of Jen Sincero today. Great interview and great info. Then I looked at her Instagram account. I get the feeling she is a socialist / liberal. Maybe I'm wrong. But I wonder what she thinks about the coming socialist regime that now is in the White House. And what someone with their own business thinks about these people dipping into their pockets even deeper. I mean, hey. Price of gas is up one dollar since the Inauguration. Plus inflation has increased. Just wondering.
I’m at that point in my life where I want people to desire to work with me, not the other way around. I’m sick and tired. I’m 27 and it makes me feel better you made this decision at 40. Still I feel like I’m way behind, but this has definitely helped that age isn’t really a factor anyway
39:00, 46:30, 47:10 **
So her book was “How to get rich, write a book about how to get rich & sell it to suckers” lmao rofl 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
You must be impoverished because her book works, idiot.
Hailey L I’m a decamillionaire - good call. 🤣🤣🤣
@@welovelibraries4556 Actually, you’re a complete stranger on the internet that can say whatever they want without any credibility. Look, I can use laugh emojis too. 🤣🤣🤣 God, you’re lame.
Why are you so uptight about saying Badass??
My kiddo was so shocked when she saw my copy of this book!
Paula and Dr Andrea Pennington sound exactly the same lol
I like making money but not the US rich models. I prefer asian rich models like Philipins or Singapur rich models, they are more like me!
what the eff??? badass is SUCH a horrible word!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it's almost as bad as F BOMBS. how dare youuuuuuuu kjfosdjfoiswueiouwr
Yeah, all of this sounds mlm-y
Yeah it does... BUT it's legitimate
I'm sorry. I'll finish listening to all Jen's books but I couldn't get past the first few minutes of the interviewers disingenuous smooth silky, annoying voice. Argh.

It’s great if she helps people but she has no passion or conviction in her voice. Sounds like she just got lucky & hit the lotto with her book but she really doesn’t like people that much
99% of you won’t GET IT The one thing that I enjoy about Jen is that she has a dry sense of humour and is down to earth. She does have conviction she just doesn’t lead towards cheesy American passion pop guru hype that I am sure most people are use to. Passion comes in many forms!
Amazing Evolutions * No it doesn’t
@@welovelibraries4556 Sounds like you've already made your mind up about her so it doesn't matter what people say to try & change your mind. Perhaps one day it will be open to a different view.
Stacey Burmeister Only based on objective observations & facts - hopefully your doctor is like Me & not you - otherwise you’d get horrible medical care - you’re welcome 😎
