I moved in a newly built home 2 years ago. Because I moved to Florida the build was an age in place home. Which means they build large showers with no doors. Therefore I contacted a few places about having a door installed on my shower
At first everyone I contacted would only renovate the shower completely. Finally, I requested an estimate to renovate the shower. One wanted $12,000 and the other wanted $13,000 just for the shower only. Finally I found someone who would do the shower door only and it costs $2,700.

You win with the bathroom. Bit too much going on with the tiles in Paige’s bathroom for me. Not too sure your mum looked too happy / confident about getting the Bus / Van to Udon. Understand she wants her independence but I wouldn’t use one of those VIP / Commuter Vans. The driving is generally atrocious (even by Thai standards) with speeding and lane cutting. They also pack people into those Vans and you’re lucky if they have working seat belts. At least with the inter province bus she’s guaranteed her own seat and the driving, in my experience, is a bit better with the buses having a speed limiter.
Hello Chuck. As mentioned in my comment dated 14th of August and if the price is reasonable (as for your renovations done), I would suggest the idea to replace the existing roof above the garage/storage by a terrace roof connected to the bedrooms upstairs or to the end of the corridor near the 2 bathrooms you just renovated. It would add a vast area for barbecue/garden etc... to your house. Just an idea.

As we get older we fail to consider we can't do what we used to do and get complacent when things going ok. My mother recently had a fall while away with my sister, she's ok but a reminder of simple things she has issues with. Just simply going outside to sort out some washing, moved in a way that for 80 years she has been able to do but now it was enough to lose her balance and go over. It's not the first time and she has a stick and does watch where she's walking, but it's when she thinks it will be ok and it's just getting the washing in, nothing she hasn't done thousands of times. Of course trying to tell someone you can't do something is difficult but tough love is needed.

Looks great Chuck! Much cheaper in Thailand than the US. Question- why no sofa or sectional or lazy boy type chairs? I would find it hard to sit and relax. Do you not need something like that?
They do have all of those luxuries here if you choose that. Do I need it? No most places in this country don't offer really soft cushion chairs. I don't know if it's because of the climate, affordability, or most likely they like firm surfaces. So if I live here I feel like I have to adapt since I don't stay in my home all the time.
