Thank you all so much for the constant support! Make sure to comment, like and share for more longform. Should Quentin Tarantino make a Kill Bill: Volume 3 with Nikki (Vernita Green’s daughter) getting revenge on Kiddo (The Bride)?
Wait your breakdown for Gray Man final fight scene
No he should not ha. Two is quite enough.
Maybe a discussion around which director does fights the best, certainly Christopher Nolan is shocking
Please breakdown Commando 3 last fight scene by Vidyut Jamwal....the scene is called commando attack...I really love your videos ..... LOVE FROM INDIA 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳
Can you breakdown Scott Adkins vs Michael Jae White and Ray Park(Accident Man)
Peace is never an option whenever Logan decides to do a knife breakdown.
Chad: Naked choke? Armlock? Pound? Front choke? Guillotine? Elbow?
Logan: Strike! Strike! Strike! Strike! Strike! Strike!

Always love that you guys take into account the intentions of the filmmakers when critiquing the more unrealistic aspects of these fight scenes. Great work.
I have loved this channel ever since the breakdown of the knife fight in The Man From Nowhere. Such an underrated Korean action/thriller movie. Anyone that promotes that movie to Western audiences will have my undying support. With that said, I was really looking forward to this video, and as always, y'all did not disappoint! Great stuff, guys.
Thank you SO MUCH for being a longtime supporter of the channel! It really means a lot to us! We have more Korean action films to breakdown so stay tuned!
I have to watch that movie
I’m excited that Derek Kolstad obtain the rights to the American remake that supposed to happen for Man from Nowhere. Not sure though if he’s working with Chad Stahelski and if he’ll direct it.
Good commentary. Still, there are a few more things I'd consider:
1) Speaking of Uma defending herself with both legs: what stopped Vivica from going Batman on her legs? Under which conditions is it advisable to swipe them aside and when better go for an ankle lock?
2) About entering the kitchen with a poker: I'd certainly be better than being unarmed, but assuming that Vivica ambushes Uma around the corner, it would be all too easy for her to grab the poker before she gets room to swing it...
3) The frying pan could be supported with the other hand and used like a shield. You can even use the other hand to flick a heavy cast iron pan out similar to a backhand strike. There's a good chance that the collision would knock the knife out of the hand and potentially break her hand, but also lose the pan...
4) That fencing stance can be found throughout medieval imagery irrespective of whether it's grappling, dagger, stick, or sword fighting. It's probably not the most conducive to fast lunges, but it keeps the vitals further away and they used to shift their weight between the legs very fast and lean in and out of attacks (if you want to learn more about being mobile in this stance, look up explanations for the concepts of key, and volta in HEMA). Thus, it's not that bad at defense. In some way, it reminds me of the Karate stance. Their punches with a step forward are also really slow, but when you assume that they try to punch someone who is actually holding a weapon, then I can understand why they want to step in and out... (still, a low percentage play)
Man I miss the long breakdowns. You guys are so great! Thank you!
We have a lot more coming so make sure to have that notification bell on! Also, Check out our other recent longform breakdowns from “They Live” to “Dangal” Thanks for the support as always!
Always a treat seeing a long breakdown in my feed. The final Spike vs Vincent fight from the Cowboy Bebop movie is a great anime fight that I'd love to see you guys cover. Thank you as usual ❤️
Thank you for the anime fight scene suggestion! Love seeing you here ❤️
Watching Logan do knifework is just so mesmerizing. I'd love to see him at actual fighting speed. So cool, and another great breakdown. Keep up the great work!
Love this video, guys! Can you do the Daredevil hallway fight scene next, please?!?
That would be awesome!!
Thanks friends for uploading this episode. I asked for it in the comments of one of your videos 2-3 years ago, what a joy that the breakdown is finally available on the channel
We filmed it after you comment! But just released it in 2023. Thanks for waiting so long. Hope you enjoyed the breakdown.
@@ScenicFights Enjoyed the episode very much. It was worth the long wait. By the way, it is true that it is very difficult to control a frying pan as a weapon, since I once did it in a self defense situation against a person who had a screwdriver as a weapon. In the end I was able to use the pan as a throwable weapon and it was effective enough to allow me to escape that dangerous situation.
Glad you made it out safe! Thanks for sharing your story.
@@ScenicFights Running is sometimes the best solution to such situations. Luckily it worked for me that time.
Damn the whole "timing" and "ambush" bit really spoke to me as someone still learning self defense, I'm a very paranoid person and often find myself clutching my knife or readying myself to grab it when I begin to feel threatened, after hearing this I feel I will be alot more at ease and less likely to wrongly go for my weapon knowing that deploying and brandishing the blade right away isn't always the best option. Thank you for the advice in this video!!!
Yay, so glad you're back with another breakdown.
Nice to see you here as always. I always remember Pepperidge Farm :P
We have plenty of UA-cam Shorts breakdowns and a couple long breakdowns you may have missed so check it out. And of course, we have more breakdowns on the way too :)
Love that you released this breakdown. If you're taking suggestions I'd love to see Chad breakdown any of the fights from the film Warrior.
We are always taking suggestions! Thanks for the support and comment! Warrior is something we will eventually get to.
@@ScenicFights Can't wait, it's one of my favourite movies
7:24 something about this moment really crystalizes why I enjoy this channel. There was a lot of non-verbal communication between Chad and Logan when Chad adjusted the choke grip. It's moments like these that show their expertise in their craft.
You guys always have the coolest socks for real.
Gotta keep the feet warm for breakdowns lol
Another stellar breakdown, and I love how Logan looked so happy with himself at 7:15
7:11 i think chad looked at this scene and went like 'nope we are not uploading it.' 🤣🤣 i laughed so hard when i heard chad's voice there. It felt like logan was taking all the frustration of being choked in the videos out there. 😀😀 Anyways, awesome video guys.
Haha that’s exactly what happened
This is where the fun begins! One of my favorite movies! Hope you guys do a fight breakdown of a fight scene between Shang Chi and Death Dealer from his movie and the Batman fight scene between him and Riddler's thugs when you guys get a chance! Regardless, awesome breakdown! 🙏🏽💪
Good to see a fight where people actually get cut by glass and messed up. Fighting is messy and even when you win you still get cuts and bruises in a mma fight or random fight. Especially if your knuckles aren't taped
Nice I can't wait to watch. I hope you guys do the final fight between Six and Lloyd from the Gray Man.
That's such a great fight scene in Kill Bill! Glad to see your breakdown on it. I totally get what Tarantino wanted but seeing you both break it down to realism is awesome!
I really want to see brutally effective, short knife fights of Logan's caliber in films and shows. All I can really think of are the final kenobi maul dual, the 13 assasins and some other obscure samurai films. The overwhelming onslaught of an ambush by Logan would be terrifying to watch on screen.
I recommend our “The Man from Nowhere” breakdown to see Logan’s type of knife fights: ua-cam.com/video/ioUBE7P7TNQ/v-deo.html
This is pretty amazing, definitely deserves more views.
Great analysis
Yasssss!!!! Happy to finally see this breakdown! Let's get on to Warrior next!!!!
It’s not a party without SemperFi EDC Guy! Nice seeing you here as always. On to the next breakdown 💪
Love it. Love Chad's joke. Awesome work, guys.
Love, Martina
Don't encourage him, Martina!☺😛
Hahaha definitely
7:52 pause it at this time.. don't they make the cutest coup? 🤣🤣🤣💯
Great one
Great video!! Keep up the good work
Thanks! Will do! Let us know which other fight scenes we should breakdown next!

Once again favorite movie and broken down by my favorite channel

@@ScenicFights final fight of never back down
i think the stance they chose at the end was a result of the environment they were in. The couch was blocking any flank movement that was suggested
Logan coming back with the vengeance, another great scenic fights fight scenes breakdown
You know it 💪
Oooooooh! A long form breakdown! We eating good today my dudes!
One of my favorite timeless fight scenes, really liked the subtle details like Vivica shaking her head at Uma for saying that they shouldn’t fight in front of her kid, it is sorta realistic but mostly influenced by Chinese kung fu films. Though I liked that secret gun hidden in the cereal box, as well as some bits of it coming into the lens which makes it more visceral and real, and then Uma doing the nice knife throw into Vivica’s chest in the end.
Since you guys gave Kengan Ashura a nice look, how about some fight scenes from City Hunter: Shinjuku Private Eyes (2019)? Including Saeba Ryo’s hand-to-hand up against some street thugs that barged into his apartment, the trio (can’t tell who, especially for those who hasn’t watched it yet, same for you guys since I don’t know), and the badass Umibozu vs PMC Team Leader fight scene, as they do some suplex techniques. Would be cool to see the breakdown of the classic 1980s anime being brought over to modern era! 😊
Edit: Almost forgot, there is also the alley fight scene with Ryo again, up against some “inconspicuous” private military contractors who’s chasing him and his client as well, sorry for not including this. Once again, really love your breakdowns! ❤
Love the video guys!
Thank you! Let us know which other fight scene we should breakdown next
Good to see a breakdown that plays to both your strengths. Keep up the excellent work. Would love to see a breakdown of more Kill Bill and the Grey Man.
Fantastic video you guys!!
Thank you! You should check out our latest UA-cam short for a surprise :)
@@ScenicFights 👀
have you guys considered making a short film with a fight scene that you would choreograph? I think it would be awesome!
+1
You guys gotta do Dune. Lot’s of kali influence for sure and their choreography was beautiful to watch!
What an amazing video!
Hammer 💪
Was waiting for the comment at 10:26 (entering the kitchen) on how 1) UT turns her back to grab the pan and 2) VF doesn't pull/slice the torso on the way back between the stab and slash and 3) how is VF holding on to that knife while punching a freakin pan (but maybe you'll get to it in the next...4 min, I just didn't want to forget)
But...I LOVE YOUR WORK, KEEP IT COMING!
There was so much to comment on in this scene, we just kept it to the most interesting moments, BUT all good observations. VF holding onto the knife punching a pan is legit though - the rest of it, not so much.
👍👏 Awesome breakdown & movie.
Thank you Manny 💪
When the axe kick was used, i also thought: 'why not just stomp?'😂 And Logan was like: yes, my turn to strangle chad 😂
I agree with yall, the Kill Bill fights scenes were more about paying homage to old school kung-fu movies than realistic fights. Still this breakdown was awesome :)
This fight scene reminds me of the final fight scene in The Hunt, Crystal vs Athena. Would be cool to analyze!
Love this fight scene, love this breakdown.
Kill Bill is such a classic! It was also awesome to see legendary Shaw Brothers actor, Gordon Liu in both Volume 1 and 2. What’s your favorite fight scene from the movie?
I put on Kill Bill immediately after watching this. Forgot how much I love that movie. I wish they'd release The Whole Bloody Affair cut already!
I do wonder how many times Logan watches a movie and just yells in his mind "STRIKE! STAB! FUCKING STAB HIM!!"
I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!!!
LOVE YOU!
You guys should totally do The Jackie Chan vs Benny The Jet fight from Wheels On Meals
My understanding of the skillet disarm was that vernita cut along the wrist, which was meant to cause the skillet drop.
I think that Vivica was meant to cut Uma's wrist with the knife to disarm the pan because (if you listen carefully) when it happens you hear a cutting sound and hear Uma cry out in pain. I think it was simply a mistake in the blocking or execution that we don't see the knife cut her. Plus you have to slow it down to see that the blade didn't touch her.
In addition, in the following scene when they are talking in the kitchen, we see Uma bandaging that same wrist. To be fair, she could have been bandaging it from when the glass fell on her, but it could also be both.
Dig the new format with watching the clip through first before going into the breakdowns!
So happy you mentioned this. It’s something new we are trying.
Análise da luta de faca Leon vs Krauser Resident evil 4!👀🙌🙌🙌
Excelente vídeo!👊😎✌
This movie was choreographed by legendary Yuen Woo Ping( Once upon a time in China, Twin Warriors, Drunken Master, The Matrix Trilogy)
I live to see more puns and innuendos in these breakdowns🤣
“Gifted with a long rod and doesn’t know how to use it.” 😳
@@ScenicFights I would have never expected Chad to drop that. 😂
Wait your breakdown for Grey Man final fight scene
I'm glad you finally did a video on this that's why I suggested it only because there is such a good mix of things to break down. I said something similar watching the movie because both of the characters had Kung-Fu backgrounds why was a lot of their movements so amateur like. A good fight but it didn't make sense with the revenge seeking plot of the movie. Thanks guys 👍🏻
Thank you 💪
@@ScenicFights You're welcome. I mean if you're just seeking revenge she should've had the knife out before the door was even open. I know she had a 1911 with the knife and katana but I think that was later in the movie
Interesting
I've missed you guys :''')))
We missed you too!!! But, we are always here, make sure you got notifications on and check out our latest breakdowns and UA-cam Shorts!
Damnit how I've fallen down the rabbit hole with this channel. It's such a great idea, and the breakdowns are stellar. Irresistible for action movie fanatics and MA nerds like me. Great job, y'all!
Thank you so much for the comment! It really means a lot to us. Feel free to share our videos with your friends and let us know which fight scene we should breakdown next! 💪
@Scenic Fights Thank you! There's one in particular that comes to mind right now. Maybe I overlooked it when I scrolled through your channel, but did you break down Baseball Bat Man from the Raid 2? The Hammergirl breakdown was so awesome. I'd never even heard of that movie till I saw your breakdown of her techniques. I streamed it immediately afterward. It's easily one of my favorite action movies now. You are doing such a great service to MA and action movies. Super impressed with the time and thought you put into your videos. Thanks again! 😃 👍
Did you also see The Raid (part 1) or did you go straight to The Raid 2? We highly recommend Raid 1 as well! And if you like The Raid 1, we’re going to recommend Dredd (2012). Dredd is totally unrelated to Raid 1 but very similar, just more guns than punches :P
@Scenic Fights Haha, yeah, I should have said I went and streamed Raid 1, then Raid 2 right after that. Both are excellent. I doubt it would ever happen, but I wish Hammer Girl and Baseball Bat Man would get a prequel. That would be intense. I'll definitely check out Dredd. Thanks! 😃
I was hoping you could review the movie KATE(Netflix); specifically the fight seen at The Black Lizard (starting at 26:50 minutes)
It still looks to me like the pan disarm is the blade cuts the back of her hand. When they enter the living room afterwards there's a cut there.
Doesn’t cut her when we paused it. However. perhaps that was the intention of the film and we should have mentioned that.
Not Logan giving the ✌🏿🤣🤣
😄✌️ It felt good to submit Chad for a change.
this reminds me.. y'all need to do a fight review on Jack Reacher's the tv series, there's a pretty good knife fight in one of the episodes but it is kinda short so maybe you can do a compilation of some of his fight scenes.. especially the jail shower scene where he fends off 5 opponents
2nd! Damn, my life is so sad. Awesome breakdown guys.
Nah, it sounds like a life well lived, homie. Thanks for the support!
Knife fights > sword fights
I love you guys....this is really entertaining...keep the excellent job...could you also do the fight with Lucy Liu again from kill bill 1!?
Verita did a slash on Black Mamba's hand, she did not throw the pan off Uma's hand. The wound is visible in the sequence after.
One of my favorites fights as a kid, but now, it seems so cartoony.
Still glad you did it !
One of our favorite film series.
Not sure if you guys are willing to, but maybe breakdowns of techniques in games? Like the game Sifu which uses a lot of martial arts and weapons. Or something like the Yakuza series; like the new Like a dragon isshin uses grappling and weapons. Love the videos, been watching since like 30k subs it's amazing to see you guys grow 10x, wish it was 100x times though
Thank you for being such a long time supporter of the channel! It really goes a long way. We have done UA-cam Shorts of both Yakuza and Sifu. We plan on revisiting those as much as we can!
Here’s some:
Yakuza - ua-cam.com/users/shortsDmAwA0xkUGw?feature=share
Sifu - ua-cam.com/users/shortsqGxRUvoGGys?feature=share
@Scenic Fights oh dang! I didn't even see those or think to look first, thank you for taking the time to respond and let me know! I still recommend Like a dragon Isshin strongly, touches on sword combat, hand to hand, grappling, countering, evasion, alongside even mixing in edo era pistols. Would love to see you guys do a long form breakdowj on either of them! You guys are amazing, ive learned so much and have been able to fix a lot of issues with my weapon work and use of proper techniques for grappling and floor work. ^^ Hope Logan and Chad and all you guys that may work on commenting or the behind the scenes are doing amazing. Have a wonderful night.
Dont know why but i live for knife fight scenes
Go watch the knife fight scene (or better yet whole movie) of The Man From Nowhere. SUPREME fight scenes
@@jeremyhamilton6623 ooo man from nowhere been on my list for a while
William Shatner would get a good smile hearing there is a Captain Kirk.
Can we all agree that Vivica & Uma looked good though?
I never thought about the realism because I’m usually caught up in the tension but it makes a lot of sense. Why would I go into a kitchen with a trained fighter into an area where they have knives on deck to use and who knows what else and not take the fire poker?
Still waiting on that Equalizer breakdown!
Oh boy... Logan strangling Chad... The world doesn't turn round, it overturns
What do you guys have for a mat? Been looking for something like that
Please do a fight breakdown of RRR. I promise it’ll be the best overall movies you’ll have watched that came out in the last 5-7 years. The action is epic, everything in the movie is epic

I love this channel when I saw the video about Punisher. Please check Mission Possible 2021 (Korean Movie) and make a video about it. I think that has good and entertaining fight scenes. Look forward to watching a breakdown video of that movie by Logan and Chad!!!
I hope that you guys get around to a movie called the Perfect Weapon starrng Jeff Speakman. I would love to see Logan's reaction to the stick fighting scenes.
Good shit boys
You're alive!
The rumors of my demise are greatly exaggerated :)
It was so real. That was a lot of fear, caution, inexperience, learning, and mistakes everyone makes when they’re fighting for their lives all of a sudden. Their worst nightmare was coming true! Exactly what they were hoping WOULDN’T happen. Enough said. 😂
**starts the video**
Oh, poor Chad. 😂
I don't know you guys, but my respect for other men is based on the socks they wear... I respect you now more than ever
💯 Socks show you your true colors
I cant wait for Kengan Ashura season 3 so these guys can do videos
We can’t wait either! There is so much material for us to cover.
I Love FMA Kali! BJJ & Muay Thai...
I think a lot of how this fight plays out is to do with honour between warriors and how they were trained.
But also from a directors point of view, the fight needs to tell a story right through visuals of choreography. 🤔
Hi! Once again a very nice video! If you didn't see it yet, you should take a look on the final fight scene of "The Grayman", betwen the two characters of Chris Evans and Ryan Gosling. It has a first part with fist and body fight and a second part with knife, and from what i can see (and the "lessons" you teach in these videos), it looks pretty realistic! Kisses from France!
❤️🇫🇷
Not a fan of the Kill Bill franchise, though your breakdowns are always informative and entertaining, and this video is no exception. It's great that you have 332k subscribers, but imho you deserve more. I also hope that movie directors will start hiring you to do choreography, I wanna see some badass fight scenes, not the usual slow wimpy camera-shaking crap :)
Thank you so much for the awesome comment, it means a lot to us! Let us know which fight scene we should breakdown next!
@@ScenicFights It would be nice if you could breakdown anything from The Raid. This movie is so awesome that it inspired me to start learning Indonesian on Duolingo. Only six weeks in, of course nowhere close to watching the movie even with Indonesian subtitles. But at least I can form simple sentences (hopefully semi-correct).
Aku suka Seagal memakai pakaian hitam. Sifu besar.
U guys should make a short action film lmao
Say you’re ambidextrous and fighting a left handed fighter, is it more advantageous to fight them with left handed focus or right handed? As in, your left side is your power side
I’m writing an MMA scene with this set up but don’t know if having them fight a lefty left handed really changes anything
Interesting concept, definitely curious how it progresses. As a practitioner but non-professional, defensively your liver is closer to your opponent so that's not great. Choreography-wise, you have the mirrored legs which is great if you like using your lead leg to set up takedowns but your rear leg takes longer to get to your target. I focus on capoeira (I know, it's never choregraphed well and it takes a lot to see the applications, but it is supposed to be an ambi style) but I've done some MMA and I've had some fighters cross train with us. Everyone still focuses on their style but the biggest comment I've gotten is that "orthodox" fighters feel less off balance if their stance switches in a scramble and they'll take a few beats southpaw but then go back to ortho stance. And when I'm sparring , kind of like your ambi idea, it is extremely frustrating for my opponents because they don't know my "power" side right away. So maybe for you, have your ambi fighter start ortho and the southpaw thinks they have all their advantages and then switch stance to change the pace of the fight because your lefty hasn't trained against other lefties? Sorry for the word vomit but it's an interesting concept that I haven't seen explored.
@@kemalmoise5945 thank you for such a detailed reply! I do have a moment of my southpaw fighter being caught off guard by my main character changing from orthodox to southpaw but I had it immediately at the start of the fight. Moving that moment to the middle would make it much stronger so thank you for that too!!
Heya, fellas! Well, I'll let Chad or Pak handle the empty hands answer but if it were a weapon, we always lead with our weapon hand unless we're being very, very defensive for some reason - such as I fear that they'll easily disarm me based on their skill or choice of weapon. So, if you're left-handed and have trained heavily with a left lead, that makes the most sense for that person. The opponent then needs to contend with defending on a less familiar side, ditto for attacking.
Having said all that, however, because weapons - particularly knives/swords, and sticks - are so fast and agile, they come from all angles and directions so, if you're training against weapons regularly, you should be able to adequately defend and attack someone that is left/unorthodox lead.
@LoganScenicFights Can confirm this is Logan
@@logan607 thank you so much!!
Question for Chad on the choke. I see how you grabbed the hand. I was taught in a fight for your life scenario to grab the pinkie and/ or ring finger (obviously small joint manipulation isn't allowed in most MMA) and pull it towards your chest. It's a mechanic they can't control or they'll get broken fingers if they don't loosen up. Same hand you went for.
Do you Co sign that as applicable? From what I've seen and have been demonstrated on it works. But I'd like your thoughts
I think the reason for the defensive stances was narrative based: the The Bride first assassin level fight out of coma and Vivica’s character being a mom. At the same time, I’ve seen my mom get defensive of her children, and it’s usually an offensive take 😅😅
Chad Hernandez? What happened to reviewing the Stingray vs. Nick fight scene from Undefeatable? 🤣
🤐🤐
Guys! You make very cool videos! I would like to throw in an idea for one of the future reviews. In the series "The Old Man" there were a lot of interesting and, it seemed to me, realistic fights. Take a look if you want to see if it's worth it.
Please do a Breakdown Video for a bollywood movie Commando 3 starring Vidyut Jammwal. It has some cool action sequence
How did I miss this?! yt didn't notice me
We also notify you in our discord about our latest Fight Scene Breakdowns.
@@ScenicFights I generally get those ones, but not this for some reason
To be fair on the knife scene, there wasn't much room for them to flank. They walked into the living room with the TV and sofa to their sides, so they didn't have space to circle around each other. Vernita probably did that as a genuine mistake (she's been off-duty for years now), and Kiddo just followed her into it because she's got tunnel-vision at that point and is only thinking about burying that dagger in Vernita's face.
