I wish Araki would make an actual copy of Dios Diary complete with all his ramblings and philosophies. That would sell a lot when part 6 gets animated
I'm sure if araki wrote a canon dios diary he'd unironicaoly unlock the answer to the universe
I've heard several people say that before
it isn't any less true
@@floatingeye9963 I imagine that when it does get published, people would make edits out of it like how they did with the Bible:

If Diavolo dies, anything is canon
Accurate facts
I agree, anything is a camera as long as Diavolo dies.
Well if the sbr uni exists which is a different uni, than maybe the novel are set on other unis even tho they are not Canon
I know it's a meme but I want to disprove that .
Here ok let's see all the ways someone can die and number them death no 1 death no 2 and so on
Now let's take only the deaths with even numbers 2,4,6 and so on you agree that there is an infinite amount of deaths with even numbers yet all the deaths with odd numbers are not included in that list. That means you can die an infinite amount of times without experiencing every possible way to die in my example diavolo will experience one infinite set of deaths without experiencing another infinite set of deaths

I’m kinda sad purple haze feedback isn’t considered cannon and most likely won’t get an anime adaption. It was such a great read, and even with the changes it works perfectly.
Who know, it got araki aprrove. Maybe dp can consider
they could change minors things in Fugo's backstory to be compatible with Part 5 Anime
I might be the only one who thinks Purple Haze Feedback is unnecessary to add in Part 5, since it is an extra Fugo-fan reads. I saw Araki's interview on vizmedia about his ideas and characters for part 5, I sort of get it why he never expands on Fugo.
I really like that Giorno's struggle from dirt to top was really sad and relentless, as if Giorno's "ambition" is a crazy idea that no one as "low class" as Giorno should do. Yet, only those who get on the boat to rebel did it just because they see a really small "hope" in good inside a sea of rotten lifestyle.
Giving Fugo some form of "salvation" after what happened in Part 5 seems like whatever (meh) to me, because Fugo did not gave his all to Giorno's rise. Giorno is ALREADY at the top in this case. So, who cares what happens to Fugo (at least, IMO).
@@horrorpill Well he's regretting the fact that the didn't go with them at the time. He's after redemption because of what he did. Yeah Giorno is at the top, but it's the cost that he paid to get there that's weighing down on Fugo. If he would have joined, Abbacio, Narancia and Bruno (well maybe not him) might still be alive. The novel is more like Fugo's punishment than anything.
Ph feedback is cannon because diavolo died
You missed one thing though, the JoJo arcade game "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Heritage for the Future". Since that features a completely new design for Midler, that was made by Araki. At least i think that might've been important
That design is now canon, considering Araki drew her again.
@@DanielFerreira-ez8qd That's not how that works but okay.
@@blindbeholder9713 retcon
@@DanielFerreira-ez8qd Just cause Araki made a new design doesn't mean the new one is canon. The anime still used the old design.

@@meme-wagon5551 one thing I can’t past is how JoJo managed to break 100,000,000+ copies
Well Araki din't want for JoJo to not get animated anymore because he tought that animation at the time wasn't "evolved" enough to make a correct version … he was right

the concept of Dio's dairy being readable and real (by araki) would actually clarify the biggest issue most people have with part 6 that is the lack of understanding as to how Dio learned to achieve heaven. I think that would actually help out the only truly extreme issue with made in heaven itself as a concept.

@@tanyaharmon6739 true but his plan required stands somthing he only gained after being freed which makes it a bit contrived compared to what it could be.
@@chronic-joker not really. He probably had those thoughts and learned about stands from enyaba, and probably started developing his plan
@@chronic-joker I think it simple. Dio has deeper understanding of a stand which is manifestation of one soul. He probably figured it out with Jonathan stand which can read one soul. He also has deeper understanding of his time stop power which related to gravity and space-time. Also has deeper understanding of fate and how stand user attract each others and become his follower. He also figured how gravity also correlate with fate and soul. How someone soul that are stronger has more gravity to attract each other and how it relate with fate and reality. He also figured out. He need to absorb many soul like 36 soul to become stronger then fused with Pucci. More gravity and how it can change fate and reality. Pucci when he got c-moon. Dio son all attract toward him like fate and gravity. Giorno probably don't meet pucci probably cause he himself has it's own strong gravity.

UA-cam Hamon Beat sounds so calm and pleasant.
Twitter Hamon Beat is very harsh and condescending. I get that people say some stupid statements, but he destroys them
@@krbchris26 Im okay with that tbh, i haven't seen his twitter but there's just so much Jojo fans who completely misunderstand even simple things about it that it makes sense for him to get mad about it especially when most people write him off as someone who just makes up stuff to defend his favorite series even though he made a video about actual Araki forgots and has said he doesn't think its perfect at all.

Diavalo probibly died somewhere during that so it's canon.
My favorite way of thinking of this is canon a, b and c.
Canon A is the set in stone canon. Mangas, explicit sayings by the creator, and similar stuff. This is 100% undeniably canon.
Canon B is other sources, retconned stuff, such as anime add ons, video games, and other things that are still "official" but don't come straight out of Araki. Canon-lite if you will, I personally like to think of these as canon as long as they don't contradict Canon A but they're the grey area of "is it canon or not?"
Canon C is everything else, from fan theories, head canons, statements from editors, etc... Just fun little canons that individuals can believe even if they're not from Araki themselves but are obviously not canon in any way.
Speedwagon decides what’s canon.
Lol... this is one hell of brilliant comment 👏
He is Canon.
Yes
Yeah Weedwagon decides
Speedwagon defeats Kars by simply stating that he is not canon, and Kars ceases to exist
The thing is, Fugo's light novel backstory is way more interesting than the manga's, so you could read it as though it were canon even if it technically isn't
The light novels back story better explains the reasons for fugos anger issues imo
It's better than both the anime and manga version
Well it doesn't exactly affect the story outaide of Giorno rehiring fugo and mista being 3rd in command, though yes he would be 3rd in command and he is, i'm really fucking sure that he is
@@epicgamingmoment2715 just because it's better doesn't mean t's canon

@@yemmohater2796 Parts 1-6 aren’t stated to have a multiverse so no Pucci isn’t black and never will be
@leimah we make the canon so no we are not canon. For any story we make would be a work of fiction while we exist in what we call reality.
@leimah sure or maybe part 10 and we just don't know about 9.

The problem is, EoH isn't canon, so nothing said in it is canon. The possibility of different universes in the jojo "universe" doesn't make them canon, unless they're confirmed by Araki or stated that it is in fact real
A lot of people think that the fact that the SBR universe has an infinite number of parallel universes means that all the scenarios are canon, which is wrong, there are rules,D4C and the sacred corpse only exist in one and only one universe, which is the base universe of Steel Ball run, which means that there technically can't be any D4C and sacred corpse in EOH because it contradicts what is certified in the manga

I think Hamon Beat is the perfect example what we should strive for as devoted fans of JoJo. He does follow the series intently and shows mastery over knowledge of it, but doesn't seem to berate people or gatekeep others away. He doesn't excuse Araki for his issues but will defend him if individuals try to point out issues that have already been settled in-canon. He will arbitrate when necessary but is open to discussion and omissions of faults, but will stand firm about many things as well if he has evidence to do so.
If you are fan of the series and wish to become completely immersed in all of its media, I think Hamon Beat should be followed as a good example of what to do, as well as to where to begin, or to fill your gaps of knowledge if necessary. As to Hamon himself, keep up the great work!

Honestly if an anime has new things added that the manga (ex going more into detail about certain things that manga barley mentions) didn't had before but doesn't conflict with the source material then it can be canon.

I wonder if the stories as seen in media like the JOJO Magazine would be considered canon? If that were the case, it'd have pretty big effects on the original universe's history and the like, what with Sorbet and Gelato's involvement in acquitting various members of Passione and directly causing Italy to fall into the hands of the group, or Lisa Lisa's hypothesis about more Stand Arrows existing in Latin America in the mid-1970s (before the six we know of so far were excavated in Egypt, at least.)

I've finally noticed new logo. It's nice.
*D4C makes it canon* . Or at least as something part of the JoJo universe.
For the anime, honestly, if something is original, minor and doesn't contradicts anything from the Manga (like Smokey becoming NY Mayor), it's safe to assume it's canon.
There is no reason to contest something so small as this, because it changes nothing. Unless Smokey returns in Part 9(and Part 9 takes place on the original universe) with a different job other than Mayor, or Ex-Mayor or something.
I loved the new opening, Hamon Beat.
Oh wow, great new logo !
JoJo's canon timeline is much easier to follow than Star Wars' canon timeline
Star wars Canon is simple
Main series
Expanded Universe
Disney Verse
Simple
or X-men movie timeline
I'd still debate in favor of Purple Haze Feedback being canon as:
1. Araki drew all of the Stands for it
2. It came much before the anime adaptation so to address your grievance with Fugo's backstory, they are pretty close and get the same point across as ultimately all that's changed is the reasoning behind Fugo attacking the teacher but him attacking him, what he attacked him with, and that's what resulted in his incarceration is all the same.
3. Sort of a 2.5 but also the anime version is shorter and more condensed telling as we don't need scenes establishing Fugo's connection with his Grandmother and can instead show a his teacher being a creep much faster so all in all, the back story changes are negligible and very minor.
4. The rest of the story is a wonderful continuation from the end of Part 5 that does not contradict anything or develop any plotholes.
5. It in fact is a very LOGICAL conclusion to Part 5 as Giorno started off wanting to rise the ranks and getting Bruno to assist him due to wanting to shut down the drug trade which is something the actual Part does not show happening at all so if anything PHF resolves that plotline that the actual Part dropped and didn't address unlike how Part 7 addresses the boy (if ya know, ya know)
6.(?) I cant confirm this as I can't find it again but I do remember seeing or hearing somewhere that Araki views it as his own head canon and so if it is canon to him then it 100% is canon but again, I cant find this one again.
That doesn't matter. Araki did illustrations for all of the light novels.
@@Hamon_Beat But Araki had already expressed his unsatisfaction with how Fugo was written out of the story , so if Araki acknowledged PHF's existence then it's because he wanted to tie up Fugo's character arc . So PHF has more credibility than the other light novels because it fits so well into the story and tells a narrative that Araki had wanted to tell
@@Hamon_Beat that addresses one of my numerous points. PHF wraps up all remaining plotlines left after the end of Part 5 and Part 5 has the MOST unresolved plot threads of any Part.
@@Hamon_Beat also if you then say, well he didn't write it is the reason, Araki did write Eyes of Heaven and other material you pointed out that aren't canon so whether he was the writer or not isn't necessarily relevant. Especially when you consider you count the anime in your canon and Araki isn't fully in control of that either so you're kind of making a straw man argument saying "x needs to be the case for it to be canon"
This is why discussing canon unless the creator has confirmed a canon is stupid. Everyone can argue in circles about their technical definitions of Canon and then everyone just gets frustrated and ends up just going "fine only things in the main manga series are Canon"
My personal definition of canon is any piece endorsed by the creator and so long as information within it does not conflict with pre-established events. That's why by my version Anime can be canon as well as it still is endorsed by Araki so scenes like those of Suzy in Part 3 are canon as they don't hurt anything, don't alter the story, and it's something we knew happened but were never shown. Similar to how we know Giorno is going to shut the Narcotics team down but never got shown it.
Finally, there is the fact that David Pro. Did say that PHF is not off the table as far as being animated they just need the okay from Araki. The upcoming JoJo event will likely shed some light though as I suspect it is announcement of a new OVA like PHF or will announce Stone Ocean
New intro looking good
Love the new logo
Canon-complient content is always good.
Isn't Purple Haze Feedback wibbly wobbly canon though?
Because they clearly use a Cannolo Murolo silhouette when describing the structure of Passione, a character specifically from that light novel.
Yes, but his role in giving La Squadra info is replaced by something else in the anime.
@@absoruriver5621 The guy that you talk about was killed by Risotto before he finished his work because he doubted if Risotto could defeat the boss . So it doesn't affect the events of PHF since the guy died before giving Risotto the information that Cannolo gave him in PHF
@@moderncrusader1150 oh wow I didn’t expect to see you in another comment after I just replied to your comment
@@moderncrusader1150 also the things that I remember they changed are what was just said by Absoru, Bruno recruits abbacchio in the anime when fugo did it in the light novel, and the backstory of fugo being changed but still based off the light novel. And you can easily just move it around for an OVA and it fits perfectly.
@@r1areone377 I think what you’re not taking into account is that these changes in the anime were intentional. They knew of phf and chose to go with a different story, this time with araki overseeing the creative choices. So it’s clear that they’re not intending on doing an ova, bc if they intended to from the start they could have just used phf’s canon. Since they didn’t, they’re telling us that it’s not canon.
Always nice to see a new Hamon Beat video.
Definitely going to check out some light novels and Dio's Over Heaven
Thank you for the video
Would Purple Haze Feedback really change that much if we replaced the backstory of Fugo from the novel with the one from the anime?
Not really
Everything in JoJo is canon.
If valentine can travel to that dimension, it's 100% part of the original story
No, what's canon is what is shown in the story and written by the author. Valentine can travel to alternate universes, but those universes are relative to the SBR continuity only.
@@DeathScorpi0 Except when there's a concept of it
@@DeathScorpi0 Basically "What's shown" and "What's out there" was given to us by Araki already
New intro looks smooth
the new logo is amazing
The only canon stuff is the original manga, and stuff in the anime that doesnt conflict with the stuff already told in the manga.
Also, wasn't smokey a mayor in the manga too? I rememeber that they had a page where they explained the future of every character.
I wanted to believe Jorge Joestar could be a canon backstory for George Geostar II until last chapters
What's wrong with them?
@@Jacksontrooper777 basically everything. It's a shitshow that I could not predict what would happen next. Granted you can't really do that with Jojo but it was just one final battle with hundreds of things happening all at once and some going against what we had on the base universe
Something important to note is that even though Parts 1-6 are a separate canon from Parts 7-8, aspects of 1-6 still affect 7-8. For example, certain aspects of how things like stands, fate, souls, etc work are still the same, and information learned in 1-6 can be used to understand how things in 7-8 work.
The same can be said for other "grey area" things or potentially even things like the video game; they may not be canon themselves, but the way they portray how mechanics of the JoJo universe work might be canon, and that information could be useful for understanding parts of the main canon storyline. Sorta a similar concept to the "what if"/alternate timeline modes in some Kirby games, in how they expand on the lore of the main storyline and even reveal background lore by showing an alternate scenario set within the same world.
Nothing has me feeling more conflicted between a pleasant surprise and sadness than seeing the new harmony beat logo, seeing as how I offered to help make a new intro segment almost a year ago in twitter dms 😔😔😔
Here I am still wondering if Weird Al Jankovic in the JoJoverse is still the same as irl or not
everything is canon if Diavolo is dying
you don't understand how GER works, do you?
Ur intro got better
im liking this new intro 😔👌
There’s also the entire multiverse thing, so technically, everything is canon
fuck it, jojo is non-canon, the series is now known as Jorge Joestar
The new titlecard looks amazing!
8:43 I think that we can considere those light novels like a possible continuity to the story. Over Heaven might be Dio's thinking, and this does not conflict with the original manga.
1.what about oingo boingo adventures??? i know they're canon but you've forgotten about them.
2.okay i'll use the power of reason(haha wou reference) to show a proof eyes of heaven is cannon:
funny doyjaaan valentine has d4c
d4c allows him to travell between parallel universes
valentine found dio while trying to get rid of the spin in a parallel universe
valentine says that even he doesnt know how many universes there are .
therefore
in one of the universes eyes of heaven happends
and d4c can travel to that universe
booom canon.
nope, because Valentine says that the reality that dio invades is the main one, so it's not canon because it will fuck up the manga and everything else.
@@josephstalin1900 yeah now i remember. one stupid line that fricks up my entire theory.
Oingo Boingo brothers adventure is canon. It’s literally just every page Thoth predicted that we see in the manga in its own form
@@SpongeCakeJ so its Canon that rohan saw toth stand! Yay
@@totallynotdio1311 I mean technically no. Rohan is just aware of Boingos existence even though he has never seen him. Rohan states that the man from Egypt that asked for Boingos comic book in exchange for his binoculars, took pictures of the book before getting a scared away by oingo. Obviously this guy dies on the telephone pole, but I would assume someone recovered he’s belongings at the scen of the death and returned them to his family/work (it’s stated that he works for Shueisha). So Shueisha published the pictures of the pages of this "mysterious manga" that the random employee got of Thoth and Rohan happened to read it, and gave his review on it.
This is made by Araki and doesn’t hurt or change continuity in anyway, so I would deem this canon.
Michael Jackson is canon
Also prince is canon.
Also Simon & Garfunkel is canon
elvis is canon
Ozzy Osbourne and Led Zeppelin is canon too
Oh, King Crimson, Yes and Queen are canon too
Oh yes a new upload I will cherish this for the next three months Until you do upload Again
I had this at 100 volume and it killed my ears, no joke, thats how powerful his hamon is
*Smokey becoming mayor should be canon.*
It's a nice addition and doesn't conflict with anything. For me something is canon as long as it doesn't conflict with something from the original canon
@@lambda760 t r u e
@@nikagrandtour it is canon

Everything is cannon if diavolo dies at the end of it
Was I'm early also nice new logo
Would've been interesting if Araki went over the light novels and edited their story to make them fit cannon, so they could be adapted as special episodes.
David Productions already know that the fans will watch anything anyway, so why not!
I hope that he provides more guidance to light novelists in the future, so we can have more cannon stories.
I also wouldn't mind if he did elaborate more about some of the other Joestars that we never really saw.
