      see from my understanding of how the ending is Jotaro still fights dio and is able to end the evil as the new world removes pucci's existence. So that's why Jolyne no longer has the jojo name, and while it's over, maybe part 4 & 5 still happen due to residial evil from dio. So Emporio may still be able to have jotaro still be one of the few people to maybe understand what Emporio went through.

    Something that I thought about when seeing the ending again through the anime was that, when Pucci was about to be killed, he begged Emporio to wait until the cycle was complete, then he would accept his defeat. But if that was the case, he wouldn’t have stopped the acceleration briefly in the first place, he just couldn’t accept that the Joestars will and Emporio (the one carrying on that will) would carry over and potentially defeat him in the future of his and Dio’s new universe, and that proved to be his undoing, trying to bend fate to his will one last time.

    Pucci by far was one of the most terrifying villains. He wasn’t consumed by world domination, gaining the ultimate power, or having a “quiet life.” In his mind, what he is doing is selfless, and he genuinely believes what he is doing is right. He is as determined as the Joestar bloodline, often times calm, cool and collected- it was so wild to see a villain who was constantly one or two steps ahead of Joylene and the crew, and a first to see a villain make even Jotaro panic. Easily one of my favorite villains in general of all time.

    So the reason all main antagonist in parts 3-6 have time-related Stands could be because of a strong wish to alter fate.

    • @rishic1030
      @rishic1030 3 роки тому +255

      Exactly. In fact, even Dio Brando (part 1) and Kars had "time-related" abilities or fate-altering abilities (in the form of immortality). They rejected their humanity (or pillarmen status? you get the point) to achieve the fate altering ability of immortality, allowing them to supersede their fate of eventual death. DIO's stand in part 3 Literally could stop time so he could alter its flow. Kira got BTD so that he could keep the fate of no one finding out about his identity. Diavolo/KC had the ability to skip time because he could effectively alter fate enough to always keep himself on top. Pucci got MIH to... well the video told you XD. However, it is their obsession with fate and overcoming it that leads to all these characters' downfalls. Dio gets immortality? He gets locked in a coffin and cannot die in there and is left alone for 100 years. Kars can't die? Gets stuck in space and stops thinking. DIO thought he could alter fate with his stand? BOOM Jotaro had the same stand the whole time and defeated him with his own ability- fate literally followed DIO into his "world of stopped time." Kira wanted to live a quiet and peaceful life where he could control everything happening to him? Well, he gets run over by an ambulance (a complete COINCIDENCE that he could not control) and spent an eternity with the hands suffering his worst nightmare and never got to live that quiet life ever again. Diavolo wanted to remain at the top for all eternity? Well, like Ozymandias, King of Kings, he was forced to relive the lowest moment of his life for all eternity (dying)- a cruel sort of immortality. I guess I ranted a lot but Araki really put a lot of effort into intertwining fate into the stories of these villains and how trying to overcome it with brute force rather than with a sense of righteousness and justice will ultimately lead to demise.

      @@rishic1030 Epic analysis. I'd like to throw in my hat and point out how, by contrast, none of the protagonists really give a shit about Fate, either changing their own fates or destiny in general. Jonathan, Joseph, Jotaro, Josuke, Giorno and Jolyne, despite being just as capable of big-brain plays as the antagonsits and displaying even more willpower than them, were all content with merely living their normal lives until the JoFoes' plans step on their toes and force their hand - Dio attacking Jonathan's loved ones (and pretty much ruining his entire life), Kars and the Pillar Men threatening the livelihoods of Joseph and all humanity, DIO literally just _existing_ causing Jotaro's mom to fall gravely ill and his defeat and death being the only cure, Kira's murder spree endangering the town Josuke loved and cared for, Diavolo's moral-deprived drug business ruining Giorno's nation (and generally pissing him off), and Pucci using Jolyne and her father as pawns to force the Heaven plan on the entire planet. Even Giorno, who is really the only proactive JoJo, only takes action against Diavolo because Diavolo's intent to run a drug cartel while stepping on anyone disrupting his private life ended up destroying the lives of so many people in Giorno's town.
      Any one of them were just as capable of trying to challenge fate as the villains, but _didn't_ because, consciously or not, they accept that they, just like everyone else with or without a fantastic spiritual superpower, have no control over what life will throw at them. In fact, the only times the protagonists gain time-altering abilities is only when they're in the climax of the struggle against said time-altering villains, and even then it only happens twice out of the four original Stand-oriented Parts (Jotaro's Star Platinum copying The World and Giorno's Gold Experience evolving into Gold Experience Reqiuem), almost as if the JoJos themselves are Fate's emergency counter force to those foolish/arrogant enough to attempt to cheat and overcome it. This would go hand in hand with Hamon Beat's explanation of why Jolyne's Post-MiH self lacks the JoJo naming convention (Irene) since the defeat of Pucci, the last of those seeking to overcome Fate, means that there is nothing left for her and the Joestar bloodline to counter. Simply put, while there is a clear signature moral gap between the Joestars and the JoFoes, what really separates them is that the JoJos are content and humble enough to live with what they are destined to have and face against, and only take action when a threat appears to assert themselves over the natural order, be it immortality (Dio, Kars), escaping punishment for misdeeds (Kira, Diavolo) or flat-out playing God with reality itself (DIO, Diavolo, Pucci), at which point they do what any hero does when they see wrong-doing and defeat it. Ironically, while all the first six Joestars are idealistic to at least some extent, they're also the ones forcing the villains to truly face reality.

    I think the most genius part of connecting fate to gravity is the concept of gravitational potential energy.
    The higher you go working against gravity the more potential energy you have.
    Therefore, by working against fate you are giving fate more energy to work against you.
    This is what happened to Diavolo. He used his stand to make himself immune to fate thereby increasing his ‘gravitational potential energy’ and causing fate to come down even harder on his defeat by Giorno

    • @yaujj65
      @yaujj65 Місяць тому

      That explains a lot of sense. If we use the Flow and Calamity concept from the SBR universe, in a sense, all the stored calamity strikes Diavolo hard.
      But if changing fate is also fated, then why does fate cause all the evil? Does fate control how people are born and their souls character? Does fate allow the universe rest to begin with? While I understand fate in Jojo, I wonder they allow tragedy to happen.
      It reminds me of a character from Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 2, Kriea. Who wishes to destroy the Force who she feels manipulate tragedy in the galaxy. She found this concept with the existance of The Exile, who had cut her connection to the Force and yet live.
      Still fate in Jojo is more benvelonet like The Force Star Wars compared to other stories fate like all those old cartoons. I just wish they communicate better, otherwise they feel like The Emperor from TTS.

      I'm actually one of those people who dislikes part 6 (even after this video, though it gave me a new respect for the ending and made me hate it a little less). My 3 biggest issues have always been the (seemingly) large amount of plot holes part 6 has, more so than other parts, the fact the Emporio was the one to survive (and the way Jotaro was treated in the ending/his relationship with Jolyne), and the entire plot/backstory of heavy weather. I'd love to hear why you (and others) like part 6 so much. It isn't bad overall, but is imo absolutely, without a doubt, the worst part of Jojo's, and imo even part 1 was better.

      @@gyroandhisballs I love Part 6 so much for tons of reasons, but I'll tell you the biggest.
      1. I love the characters in Stone Ocean. Jolyne is my favorite JoJo, I love how strong-willed and determined she is to save her father and her friends, and it's insane to see the limits she pushes herself to to get her goals. To me, out of al of the OG Universe Jojo's Jolyne suffered the most, and yet she never lost her will to keep going. I also found Hermes, Anasui, and Weather Report pretty fun as well.
      2. I also love part 6 because of Jotaro. We get to see him at his weakest, essentially, and I love that. He's already my favorite Jojo (my number two now after Jolyne), and it was a shock to see that his tough and stoic demanor was pretty much gone in Part 6. Seeing how much he loved Jolyne, and all the times he tried to save her really resonated with me. You could feel how scared he was to lose her, which made the ending all the more tragic. He even made the MOST expressive face to date in the series when he saw that Pucci threw knives at her.
      3. The fights in part 6 were INSANE. My favorites were Jailhouse Lock, C-Moon, Green Baby, Underworld and MIH. Jolyne and her friends legit never back down, and I love seeing how determined they are.
      4. Lastly, part 6 is my favorite because of the ending. It's sad, and literally made me sad for about a week after I read it. But it's also the best possible ending for the Jojo's, and I got the vibe that they all finally managed to overcome their family curse of fighting against evil and truly got to live normal lives. I've seen a lot of people hate the fact that everyone "died" in the end, but I actually think that's what makes it special. TBH, EVERYONE dies, and every good thing has to come to an end. It's very bittersweet.

      isaiah.exe what is to hate about how jotaro was treated ? His last entire relationship with jolyne made absolute sense he had to leave his family because he didn’t want them to be in danger he always cared for them thats why he wasn’t present, at the end of the part we see that jotaro really cared about his daughter and preferred saving her than having a better chance to kill pucci showing us how much he cares about her, then after pucci died and the universe reset without him jolyne and jotaro have a healthy relationship whats to hate

    I'm glad you brought up the Nijimura Father, since there's an interesting observation to be had with his transformation:
    He turned into a (colored green in the manga/anime) weird monster thanks to DIO's cells and the fleshbud being implanted in him. This led to his cells being corrupted and turning into a smaller, greener and stubbier creature afterwards with the power of regenerating himself.
    ....Sounds familiar? This description fits the Green Baby somewhat, born out of *DIO's Bone* (or his cells), while the regenerative power could come from the will of DIO for a stand to resurrect his dead body.
    Perhaps the fleshbuds are another step from the Heaven plan? Since they turned the Nijimura Father into something really similar to the Green Baby, born from DIO's DNA.
    I don't really have a theory to go along, but it's a neat observation. Great video, by the way!

    The people who become homeless drug addicts, the people who are raped and murdered, the people who are ostracized by their communities, the people who are abused, etc.
    So many people whom fate has dealt a bad hand, and are never given so much as an opportunity to improve.
    Those people will never view a life where they're fully aware of their fate as "heaven."

      There's a minor indication that he was simply fated to die and his new godhood prevented that, so the earth got rid of him instead.
      "There was nothing left on earth that could destroy him, so the earth banished Kars into the vacuum of space!"
      If fate operates like gravity with a 'what goes up must come down' mentality towards defying fate, you could say Kars ultimately escaped fate and earth's gravity altogether.
