I always thought to start with the details but when I started to watch more portrait videos I understanded that you draw a basic shape of the head first then making you way to the details great video
As someone just getting into portrait drawing, it has been fascinating watching your approach from start to finish. Thank you for sharing. Would love to know how long the portrait took to complete in real time.

I really like how you started with the rough shading areas, blended, and then went into more detail. Really interesting to see. Could you add a clock next time so we can see how long it takes you to draw something like this?

Yep.. doing circles and lines first is better before make it detail.
Yeah, block in the major shapes first and draw their relations then dive into details, see the big picture first
This is not pencil drawing . It is sculpting with pencil
yes yes
this is charcoal pencil
No
No
Or is Sculpting drawing with a chisel
This is truly awesome to watch the process, the gift, that makes the subject look alive! A true pleasure to watch the details added through your eyes!

Very nice drawing and skills. The most beautiful part is the initial blocking and formation of the face

I love how the tablet is held by tape 😂, anyways great work, never thought about using a makeup sponge to blend graphite 👍
My thoughts exactly
That tape gives me anxiety
I have just got it after seeing ur comment, 😄😄and its not graphite
