This video is a great start to critically source information. However, it misses point important point, which is to evaluate conflicts of interest. Prof. Ben Goldacre has communicated much of the science about bad science, how conflicts of interest and industry finding biases the findings of research efforts. It is still a hard task as it means quite a lot of digging. But the more a reader asks the question who is funding this work and why, it becomes easier to be skeptical about that particular form of information.

I thought this video was great and quite helpful but I just gotta say, I cannot get past the fact the squirrel has broken glasses. First of all, if you can afford to go to Stanford you can afford glasses that aren't broken. Second, who's beating up a squirrel?!
I get why this is done. But come on please understand it is a bit time consuming and a pain in the neck alot of articels do not way the author and the sponser website or organization will not always their policies of who posts on their website ( so its difficult to know the education a professional experience credentials of the writers of these websites to determine if their qualified ) their wont always be a public online resume about the authors of articels are their name popping in other places then their own website so it is difficult then to determine if they are authoritative also allot of them a source will have some of the reliability criteria but not others so weather the source is reliable reallydepends what your looking for
Rose B. Did you flunk spelling and grammar?. If you're all in college, I would think you all would understand how to verify information before you started at Stanford.
@@lyndakoers1389 unless your question about my spelling and grammar is some social metaphor obviously your missing the point here as grammer and spelling have nothing to do with what i posted and knowing how to verify a source has nothing to do with weather it is a pain in the neck to actually do or not.
"looks professionally designed" PFFFFFFFT
reminds me of that one meme "graphic design is my passion"
LOL it looks like someone designed that in their intro to web development class as their first project haha
Saaaaame

URL extensions aren’t regulated, though, right? I thought anyone can register a .gov or .edu site.
