Those are so amazing Kurt! Wow that big chunk that you wiped down with mineral oil is just amazing! I love stromatolites! Not only are they beautiful, but they are some of the oldest and most amazing fossils we can collect! We owe our existance to them! They gave us the oxygen we breathe today, and that every living plant after them has taken up their job! In breathing in all the CO2 and excreating oxygen they were so efficient at their job, they actually wiped themselves out and chocked out their own existence! So thank you stromatolites! Your sacrifice is appreciated and we honor you by collecting and revering your fossil remains! Thanks Kurt! Those are such beautiful and amazing examples of our stromatolite ancestors!
